Al Músico principal: Salmo para los hijos de Coré. OID esto, pueblos todos; escuchad, habitadores todos del mundo:
Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world,
Höret dies, ihr Völker alle,</title> merkt auf, ihr Bewohner der ganzen Welt,
Así los plebeyos como los nobles, el rico y el pobre juntamente.
Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

sowohl ihr Söhne des Volks als ihr Herrensöhne, beide, so reich wie arm!
Mi boca hablará sabiduría; y el pensamiento de mi corazón inteligencia.
My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
My mouth will speak words of wisdom. My heart will utter understanding.
Mein Mund soll volle Weisheit reden, und meines Herzens Sinnen soll höchste Einsicht sein:
Acomodaré á ejemplos mi oído: declararé con el arpa mi enigma.
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will solve my riddle on the harp.
ich will mein Ohr einer Gleichnisrede leihen, will mein Rätsel eröffnen bei Saitenklang.
¿Por qué he de temer en los días de adversidad, cuando la iniquidad de mis insidiadores me cercare?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
Why should I fear in the days of evil, when iniquity at my heels surrounds me?
Warum sollt’ ich mich fürchten in bösen Tagen, wenn die Bosheit meiner Verfolger mich umgibt,
Los que confían en sus haciendas, y en la muchedumbre de sus riquezas se jactan,
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
Those who trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches—
die auf ihr Vermögen vertrauen und mit ihrem großen Reichtum prahlen?
Ninguno de ellos podrá en manera alguna redimir al hermano, ni dar á Dios su rescate.
None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

Den Bruder loszukaufen vermag ja doch kein Mensch, noch an Gott das Lösegeld für ihn zu zahlen
(Porque la redención de su vida es de gran precio, y no se hará jamás;)
(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

- denn unerschwinglich hoch ist der Kaufpreis für ihr Leben: er muß davon Abstand nehmen für immer –,
Que viva adelante para siempre, y nunca vea la sepultura.

damit er dauernd weiterlebe und die Grube nicht zu sehen bekomme.
Pues se ve que mueren los sabios, así como el insensato y el necio perecen, y dejan á otros sus riquezas.
For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

Nein, er bekommt es zu sehen, daß sterben die Weisen, und Toren und Dumme gleicherweise umkommen und müssen andern ihr Gut hinterlassen:
En su interior tienen que sus casas serán eternas, y sus habitaciones para generación y generación: llamaron sus tierras de sus nombres.
Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

Gräber sind ihre Behausung für immer, ihre Wohnungen von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht, ob sie auch Länder mit ihren Namen benannten.
Mas el hombre no permanecerá en honra: es semejante á las bestias que perecen.
Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
But man, despite his riches, doesn’t endure. He is like the animals that perish.
Ja, der Mensch – in Herrlichkeit lebt er nicht fort: er gleicht den Tieren, die abgetan werden.
Este su camino es su locura: con todo, corren sus descendientes por el dicho de ellos. (Selah.)
This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.
This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. Selah.
Dies ist das Schicksal derer, die voll Zuversicht sind, und der Ausgang derer, die ihren Reden Beifall schenken.SELA.
Como rebaños serán puestos en la sepultura; la muerte se cebará en ellos; y los rectos se enseñorearán de ellos por la mañana: y se consumirá su bien parecer en el sepulcro de su morada.
Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, far from their mansion.
Wie Schafe werden sie ins Totenreich versetzt; der Tod weidet sie, und über sie herrschen die Frommen am Morgen; dem Totenreich zur Vernichtung fällt ihre Gestalt anheim, so daß ihr keine Wohnung bleibt.
Empero Dios redimirá mi vida del poder de la sepultura, cuando me tomará. (Selah.)
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

Aber Gott wird meine Seele erlösen aus des Totenreichs Gewalt, denn er wird mich annehmen.SELA.
No temas cuando se enriquece alguno, cuando aumenta la gloria de su casa;
Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
Don’t be afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
Drum rege dich nicht auf, wenn jemand reich wird, wenn seines Hauses Herrlichkeit sich mehrt;
Porque en muriendo no llevará nada, ni descenderá tras él su gloria.
For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
for when he dies he will carry nothing away. His glory won’t descend after him.
denn im Tode nimmt er das alles nicht mit: seine Herrlichkeit fährt nicht mit ihm hinab.
Si bien mientras viviere, dirá dichosa á su alma: y tú serás loado cuando bien te tratares.
Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

Mag er sich auch im Leben glücklich preisen und mag man ihn rühmen, daß es ihm wohlergehe:
Entrará á la generación de sus padres: no verán luz para siempre.
He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

er wird doch eingehn zum Geschlecht seiner Väter, die das Tageslicht nimmermehr sehen.
El hombre en honra que no entiende, semejante es á las bestias que perecen.
Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
A man who has riches without understanding, is like the animals that perish.
Der Mensch, in Herrlichkeit lebend, doch ohne Einsicht, gleicht den Tieren, die abgetan werden.
