Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world,
así los que sois plebeyos, como los que sois nobles, juntos los ricos y los pobres.
Así los plebeyos como los nobles, el rico y el pobre juntamente.
Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

Mi boca proferirá sabiduría, y la meditación de mi espíritu prudencia.
Mi boca hablará sabiduría; y el pensamiento de mi corazón inteligencia.
My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

Tendré atento el oído a la parábola o inspiración divina; al son del salterio descifraré mi enigma.
Acomodaré á ejemplos mi oído: declararé con el arpa mi enigma.
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will solve my riddle on the harp.
¿Qué es, pues, lo que he de temer yo en el aciago día? La iniquidad de mis pasos que me cercará por todos lados.
¿Por qué he de temer en los días de adversidad, cuando la iniquidad de mis insidiadores me cercare?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

¡Ay de aquellos que confían en su poder, y se glorian en sus riquezas!
Los que confían en sus haciendas, y en la muchedumbre de sus riquezas se jactan,
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

El hermano no redime, ¿cómo redimirá otro hombre? Ninguno podrá ofrecer a Dios cosa que le aplaque,
Ninguno de ellos podrá en manera alguna redimir al hermano, ni dar á Dios su rescate.
None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

ni precio alguno en rescate de su alma, sino que penará para siempre.
(Porque la redención de su vida es de gran precio, y no se hará jamás;)

Y no obstante, vivirá perpetuamente.

No verá él la muerte, cuando ha visto que mueren aun los sabios. ¡Ah!, el insensato y el necio, como todos, perecerán, y dejarán a los extraños sus riquezas,

For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

y el sepulcro será su eterna habitación, y sus pabellones pasarán de una a otra generación; esos hombres que dieron sus nombres a sus tierras, pensando eternizarse.
En su interior tienen que sus casas serán eternas, y sus habitaciones para generación y generación: llamaron sus tierras de sus nombres.
Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

Y el hombre, constituido en honor, no ha tenido discernimiento; se ha igualado con las bestias, y se ha hecho como uno de ellas.
Mas el hombre no permanecerá en honra: es semejante á las bestias que perecen.
Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
But man, despite his riches, doesn’t endure. He is like the animals that perish.
Este proceder suyo es causa de su perdición; y con todo habrá venideros que se complacerán en alabarle.

Como los rebaños de ovejas serán metidos en el infierno; la muerte se cebará en ellos eternamente. Y los justos tendrán el dominio sobre ellos; y no habrá socorro que les valga en el infierno, después de su pasada gloria.
Como rebaños serán puestos en la sepultura; la muerte se cebará en ellos; y los rectos se enseñorearán de ellos por la mañana: y se consumirá su bien parecer en el sepulcro de su morada.
Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, far from their mansion.
Dios redimirá mi alma del poder del infierno, cuando él me recoja de este mundo.
Empero Dios redimirá mi vida del poder de la sepultura, cuando me tomará. (Selah.)
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

Tú no te turbes por más que un hombre se haga rico, y crezca el fausto de su casa.
No temas cuando se enriquece alguno, cuando aumenta la gloria de su casa;

Don’t be afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
Puesto que cuando muera nada llevará consigo, ni le seguirá su gloria.
Porque en muriendo no llevará nada, ni descenderá tras él su gloria.
For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

Porque mientras él viva, será alabado; y él te bendecirá cuando le hicieres bien.

Entrará al lugar de sus padres, y ya no verá jamás la luz.

Porque el hombre, constituido en honor, no tuvo discernimiento; se ha igualado con los irracionales, y se ha hecho semejante a ellos.
El hombre en honra que no entiende, semejante es á las bestias que perecen.

A man who has riches without understanding, is like the animals that perish.
