1O POSSENTE uomo, perchè ti glorii del male? La benignità del Signore dura sempre.
2La tua lingua divisa malizie; Ella è come un rasoio affilato, o tu, operatore d'inganni.
3Tu hai amato il male più che il bene; La menzogna più che il parlare dirittamente.
4Tu hai amate tutte le parole di ruina, O lingua frodolente.
5Iddio altresì ti distruggerà in eterno; Egli ti atterrerà, e ti divellerà dal tuo tabernacolo, E ti diradicherà dalla terra de' viventi. (Sela.)
6E i giusti lo vedranno, e temeranno; E si rideranno di lui, dicendo:
7Ecco l'uomo che non aveva posto Iddio per sua fortezza; Anzi si confidava nella grandezza delle sue ricchezze, E si fortificava nella sua malizia.
8Ma io sarò come un ulivo verdeggiante nella Casa di Dio; Io mi confido nella benignità di Dio in sempiterno.
9O Signore, io ti celebrerò in eterno; perciocchè tu avrai operato; E spererò nel tuo Nome, perciocchè è buono, Ed è presente a' tuoi santi.

2Agravios maquina tu lengua: como navaja amolada hace engaño.
3Amaste el mal más que el bien; la mentira más que hablar justicia. (Selah.)
4Has amado toda suerte de palabras perniciosas, engañosa lengua.
5Por tanto Dios te derribará para siempre: te asolará y te arrancará de tu morada, y te desarraigará de la tierra de los vivientes. (Selah.)
6Y verán los justos, y temerán; y reiránse de él, diciendo:
7He aquí el hombre que no puso á Dios por su fortaleza, sino que confió en la multitud de sus riquezas, y se mantuvo en su maldad.
8Mas yo estoy como oliva verde en la casa de Dios: en la misericordia de Dios confío perpetua y eternalmente.
9Te alabaré para siempre por lo que has hecho: y esperaré en tu nombre, porque es bueno, delante de tus santos.

1Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
2Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
4Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
6The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:
7Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
9I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

1Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man? God’s loving kindness endures continually.
2Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking the truth. Selah.
4You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.
5God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.
6The righteous also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying,
7“Behold, this is the man who didn’t make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
8But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house. I trust in God’s loving kindness forever and ever.
9I will give you thanks forever, because you have done it. I will hope in your name, for it is good, in the presence of your saints.
