Al Músico principal: Masquil de David, cuando vino Doeg Idumeo y dió cuenta á Saúl, diciéndole: David ha venido á casa de Ahimelech. ¿POR qué te glorías de maldad, oh poderoso? La misericordia de Dios es continua.
Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

Todo el día está tu lengua empleándose en la injusticia; cual navaja afilada, así tú has hecho traición.
Agravios maquina tu lengua: como navaja amolada hace engaño.
Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

Preferiste el mal al bien, la calumnia al lenguaje de la verdad.

Toda suerte de palabras mortíferas son las que has amado, ¡oh lengua alevosa!

Yo al contrario, a manera de un fértil olivo subsistiré en la casa de Dios, para siempre y por los siglos de los siglos por haber puesto mi esperanza en la misericordia de Dios.
Mas yo estoy como oliva verde en la casa de Dios: en la misericordia de Dios confío perpetua y eternalmente.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

Te alabaré, Señor, eternamente, porque esto hiciste y esperaré el auxilio de tu Nombre, por ser como es tan bueno para tus santos.
Te alabaré para siempre por lo que has hecho: y esperaré en tu nombre, porque es bueno, delante de tus santos.
I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
