Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me.
(056-3) Meine Widersacher schnauben den ganzen Tag, ja viele Hohe streiten wider mich.
Apúranme mis enemigos cada día; porque muchos son los que pelean contra mí, oh Altísimo.
Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, for they are many who fight proudly against me.
(056-4) Wenn mir angst ist, vertraue ich auf dich!
En el día que temo, yo en ti confío.
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
(056-5) In Gott will ich rühmen sein Wort; auf Gott vertraue ich und habe keine Furcht; was kann Fleisch mir antun?
En Dios alabaré su palabra: en Dios he confiado, no temeré lo que la carne me hiciere.
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
(056-6) Täglich lauern sie auf meine Worte, auf mein Unglück gehen alle ihre Gedanken;
Todos los días me contristan mis negocios; contra mí son todos sus pensamientos para mal.
Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
All day long they twist my words. All their thoughts are against me for evil.
(056-7) sie rotten sich zusammen, lauschen im Verborgenen, beobachten meine Tritte und lauern auf mein Leben.
Reúnense, escóndense, miran ellos atentamente mis pasos, esperando mi vida.
They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
They conspire and lurk, watching my steps. They are eager to take my life.
(056-8) Sollten sie bei ihrer Bosheit entrinnen? O Gott, stürze die Völker im Zorn!
¿Escaparán ellos por la iniquidad? Oh Dios, derriba en tu furor los pueblos.
Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.
Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, God.
(056-9) Du zählst, wie oft ich fliehen muß; sammle meine Tränen in deinen Schlauch! Stehen sie nicht in deinem Buch?
Mis huídas has tú contado: pon mis lágrimas en tu redoma: ¿no están ellas en tu libro?
Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
You count my wanderings. You put my tears into your container. Aren’t they in your book?
(056-10) Am Tage, da ich rufe, weichen meine Feinde zurück; das weiß ich, daß Gott für mich ist.
Serán luego vueltos atrás mis enemigos el día que yo clamare: en esto conozco que Dios es por mí.
When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
Then my enemies shall turn back in the day that I call. I know this: that God is for me.
(056-11) In Gott will ich rühmen das Wort, im HERRN will ich rühmen das Wort;
En Dios alabaré su palabra; en Jehová alabaré su palabra.
In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.
In God, I will praise his word. In the LORD, I will praise his word.
(056-12) auf Gott vertraue ich und habe keine Furcht; was kann ein Mensch mir antun?
En Dios he confiado: no temeré lo que me hará el hombre.
In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
(056-13) Die Gelübde, die ich dir, o Gott, gelobt, liegen auf mir; ich will dir Dankopfer bezahlen!
Sobre mí, oh Dios, están tus votos: te tributaré alabanzas.
Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
Your vows are on me, God. I will give thank offerings to you.
(056-14) Denn hast du nicht meine Seele vom Tode errettet, meine Füße vom Gleiten, damit ich vor Gottes Angesicht wandle im Lichte des Lebens?
Porque has librado mi vida de la muerte, y mis pies de caída, para que ande delante de Dios en la luz de los que viven.
For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
For you have delivered my soul from death, and prevented my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
