Salmo de Asaph. CIERTAMENTE bueno es Dios á Israel, á los limpios de corazón.
Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
But as for me, my feet had almost gone from under me; I was near to slipping;

For they have no pain; their bodies are fat and strong.

They are not in trouble as others are; they have no part in the unhappy fate of men.

They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men.
For this reason pride is round them like a chain; they are clothed with violent behaviour as with a robe.
Por tanto soberbia los corona: cúbrense de vestido de violencia.
Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.
Their eyes are bursting with fat; they have more than their heart's desire.

Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.
Their thoughts are deep with evil designs; their talk from their seats of power is of cruel acts.
Soltáronse, y hablan con maldad de hacer violencia; hablan con altanería.
They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.
Their mouth goes up to heaven; their tongues go walking through the earth.
Ponen en el cielo su boca, y su lengua pasea la tierra.
They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.
For this reason they are full of bread; and water is ever flowing for them.
Por eso su pueblo vuelve aquí, y aguas de lleno les son exprimidas.
Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
Therefore their people return to them, and they drink up waters of abundance.
And they say, How will the Lord see this? is there knowledge in the Most High?
Y dicen: ¿Cómo sabe Dios? ¿y hay conocimiento en lo alto?
And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
They say, “How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”
Truly, such are the sinners; they do well at all times, and their wealth is increased.
He aquí estos impíos, sin ser turbados del mundo, alcanzaron riquezas.
Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.
As for me, I have made my heart clean to no purpose, washing my hands in righteousness;

When my thoughts were turned to see the reason of this, it was a weariness in my eyes;
Pensaré pues para saber esto: es á mis ojos duro trabajo,
When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me—
Till I went into God's holy place, and saw the end of the evil-doers.
Hasta que venido al santuario de Dios, entenderé la postrimería de ellos.
Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.
You put their feet where there was danger of slipping, so that they go down into destruction.

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

How suddenly are they wasted! fears are the cause of their destruction.
¡Cómo han sido asolados! ¡cuán en un punto! Acabáronse, fenecieron con turbaciones.
How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.
As a dream when one is awake, they are ended; they are like an image gone out of mind when sleep is over.
Como sueño del que despierta, así, Señor, cuando despertares, menospreciarás sus apariencias.
As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.
My heart was made bitter, and I was pained by the bite of grief:
Desazonóse á la verdad mi corazón, y en mis riñones sentía punzadas.
Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

As for me, I was foolish, and without knowledge; I was like a beast before you.

But still I am ever with you; you have taken me by my right hand.

Your wisdom will be my guide, and later you will put me in a place of honour.
Hasme guiado según tu consejo, y después me recibirás en gloria.

Whom have I in heaven but you? and having you I have no desire for anything on earth.

My flesh and my heart are wasting away: but God is the Rock of my heart and my eternal heritage.

But it is good for me to come near to God: I have put my faith in the Lord God, so that I may make clear all his works.
Y en cuanto á mí, el acercarme á Dios es el bien: he puesto en el Señor Jehová mi esperanza, para contar todas tus obras.
But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
But it is good for me to come close to God. I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.
