¡Qué bueno es Dios para con Israel, para con los de corazón puro!
Salmo de Asaph. CIERTAMENTE bueno es Dios á Israel, á los limpios de corazón.
Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
En cuanto a mí, ¡qué cerca estuve del borde del precipicio! Ya mis pies resbalaban y estaba a punto de despeñarme.
Mas yo, casi se deslizaron mis pies; por poco resbalaron mis pasos.
But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

Porque yo envidiaba la prosperidad de los orgullosos y malvados.
Porque tuve envidia de los insensatos, viendo la prosperidad de los impíos.
For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Ellos parece que viven una vida sin problemas; sus cuerpos son fuertes y saludables.
Porque no hay ataduras para su muerte; antes su fortaleza está entera.
For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm.
No se ven angustiados como toda la gente o cargados de problemas como los demás,
No están ellos en el trabajo humano; ni son azotados con los otros hombres.
They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men.
y por eso lucen su orgullo como collar de piedras preciosas, y sus ropas están tejidas de crueldad.
Por tanto soberbia los corona: cúbrense de vestido de violencia.
Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.
Esos ricachones tienen cuanto su corazón anhela.
Sus ojos están salidos de gruesos: logran con creces los antojos del corazón.
Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.
Se burlan y hablan sólo de maldad; en su orgullo buscan acabar con los demás.
Soltáronse, y hablan con maldad de hacer violencia; hablan con altanería.
They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.
They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.
Se jactan contra el cielo mismo, y sus palabras recorren orgullosas la tierra.
Ponen en el cielo su boca, y su lengua pasea la tierra.
They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.
Y así, el pueblo de Dios está desanimado y confuso, bebiéndose sus propias palabras.
Por eso su pueblo vuelve aquí, y aguas de lleno les son exprimidas.
Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
Therefore their people return to them, and they drink up waters of abundance.
Preguntan: «¿Se dará cuenta Dios de lo que pasa? ¿Entiende el Altísimo lo que está pasando?».
Y dicen: ¿Cómo sabe Dios? ¿y hay conocimiento en lo alto?
And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
They say, “How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”
¡Miren a esos arrogantes; ni siquiera se molestan en alzar un dedo y se multiplican sus riquezas!
He aquí estos impíos, sin ser turbados del mundo, alcanzaron riquezas.
Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.
Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.
¿De qué me sirvió mantener mi corazón limpio y cuidarme de no hacer maldad?
Verdaderamente en vano he limpiado mi corazón, y lavado mis manos en inocencia;
Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.
Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence,
Lo que recibo todo el día son problemas, y cada amanecer me trae dolor.
Pues he sido azotado todo el día, y empezaba mi castigo por las mañanas.
For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.
For all day long I have been plagued, and punished every morning.
Si en verdad hubiera yo hablado así, habría sido traidor a tu pueblo.
Si dijera yo, Discurriré de esa suerte; he aquí habría negado la nación de tus hijos:
If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.
If I had said, “I will speak thus”, behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.
Pero qué difícil es entender eso: la prosperidad de los malvados.
Pensaré pues para saber esto: es á mis ojos duro trabajo,
When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me—
Y un día entré a meditar en el santuario de Dios, y estuve pensando en el futuro de esos malvados.
Hasta que venido al santuario de Dios, entenderé la postrimería de ellos.
Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.
¡En verdad, los has puesto en un camino resbaladizo y los empujarás por el borde del abismo y caerán en su destrucción.
Ciertamente los has puesto en deslizaderos; en asolamientos los harás caer.
Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.
Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.
En un instante serán destruidos, consumidos por el terror.
¡Cómo han sido asolados! ¡cuán en un punto! Acabáronse, fenecieron con turbaciones.
How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.
Un sueño no más es toda su vida presente, que se olvida al despertar. Cuando tú te levantes, Señor, los desecharás de esta vida.
Como sueño del que despierta, así, Señor, cuando despertares, menospreciarás sus apariencias.
As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.
Entonces me di cuenta de lo amargado y lastimado que estaba por todo lo que había visto.
Desazonóse á la verdad mi corazón, y en mis riñones sentía punzadas.
Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart.
Vi lo necio e ignorante que era; a ti, Dios, debo de parecerte una bestia.
Mas yo era ignorante, y no entendía: era como una bestia acerca de ti.
So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.
I was so senseless and ignorant. I was a brute beast before you.
Pero yo siempre estoy contigo, pues tú sostienes mi mano derecha.
Con todo, yo siempre estuve contigo: trabaste de mi mano derecha.
Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.
Seguirás guiándome toda mi vida con tu sabiduría y consejo; y después me recibirás en la gloria.
Hasme guiado según tu consejo, y después me recibirás en gloria.
Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
¿A quién tengo yo en el cielo sino a ti? Y en la tierra nada deseo fuera de ti.
¿A quién tengo yo en los cielos? Y fuera de ti nada deseo en la tierra.
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
Whom do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.
La salud me puede fallar, mi espíritu puede debilitarse, ¡pero Dios permanece! ¡Él es la fuerza de mi corazón; él es mío para siempre!
Mi carne y mi corazón desfallecen: mas la roca de mi corazón y mi porción es Dios para siempre.
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Pero quienes rehúsan adorar a Dios perecerán, porque él destruye a los que sirven a otros dioses.
Porque he aquí, los que se alejan de ti perecerán: tú cortarás á todo aquel que fornicando, de ti se aparta.
For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.
En cuanto a mí, me acerco a él lo más que puedo. He elegido al Dios soberano como mi refugio, y a todos contaré las maravillas que él hace.
Y en cuanto á mí, el acercarme á Dios es el bien: he puesto en el Señor Jehová mi esperanza, para contar todas tus obras.
But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
But it is good for me to come close to God. I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.
