Masquil de Asaph. ¿POR qué, oh Dios, nos has desechado para siempre? ¿por qué ha humeado tu furor contra las ovejas de tu dehesa?
O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?
Acuérdate del pueblo que adquiriste desde tiempos antiguos, de la tribu que redimiste para que fuera tu posesión. Acuérdate de este monte Sion, que es donde tú habitas.
Acuérdate de tu congregación, que adquiriste de antiguo, cuando redimiste la vara de tu heredad; este monte de Sión, donde has habitado.
Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance: Mount Zion, in which you have lived.
Marcha por entre las espantosas ruinas de la ciudad, y contempla lo que ha hecho el enemigo a tu santuario.
Levanta tus pies á los asolamientos eternos: á todo enemigo que ha hecho mal en el santuario.
Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.
Lift up your feet to the perpetual ruins, all the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary.
Allí lanzaron su grito de batalla y plantaron sus banderas en señal de victoria.
Tus enemigos han bramado en medio de tus sinagogas: han puesto sus divisas por señas.
Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.
Your adversaries have roared in the middle of your assembly. They have set up their standards as signs.
Despedazaron la entrada como si fueran leñadores en un bosque.
Cualquiera se hacía famoso según que había levantado el hacha sobre los gruesos maderos.
A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.
They behaved like men wielding axes, cutting through a thicket of trees.
Destrozaron los adornos de madera con sus hachas y martillos.
Y ahora con hachas y martillos han quebrado todas sus entalladuras.
But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.
Now they break all its carved work down with hatchet and hammers.
Prendieron fuego al santuario y lo arrasaron; insultaron escandalosamente el lugar que lleva tu nombre.
Han puesto á fuego tus santuarios, han profanado el tabernáculo de tu nombre echándolo á tierra.
They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.
They have burned your sanctuary to the ground. They have profaned the dwelling place of your Name.
«Destruyamos todo», dijeron, y recorrieron todo el país quemando los sitios en donde te adoramos.
Dijeron en su corazón: Destruyámoslos de una vez; han quemado todas las sinagogas de Dios en la tierra.
They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
They said in their heart, “We will crush them completely.” They have burned up all the places in the land where God was worshiped.
No quedan señales de que tú nos salvarás. Ya no hay profetas. ¿Y quién puede decir cuándo terminará todo esto?
No vemos ya nuestras señales: no hay más profeta; ni con nosotros hay quien sepa hasta cuándo.
We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
We see no miraculous signs. There is no longer any prophet, neither is there among us anyone who knows how long.
¿Hasta cuándo, oh Dios, permitirás que tus enemigos se burlen de ti? ¿Les permitirás que insulten tu nombre por siempre?
¿Hasta cuándo, oh Dios, el angustiador nos afrentará? ¿ha de blasfemar el enemigo perpetuamente tu nombre?
O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?
How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?
¿Por qué detienes tu poderosa mano derecha? Dales con tu puño el golpe definitivo.
¿Por qué retraes tu mano, y tu diestra? ¿por qué la escondes dentro de tu seno?
Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.
Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Take it from your chest and consume them!
Desde los tiempos pasados, oh Dios, tú eres mi rey; tú traes salvación sobre la tierra.
Empero Dios es mi rey ya de antiguo; el que obra saludes en medio de la tierra.
For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

Con tu fuerza dividiste el Mar Rojo; ¡aplastaste las cabezas del dios marino! ¡Lo entregaste como alimento a las tribus del desierto!
Tú hendiste la mar con tu fortaleza: quebrantaste cabezas de ballenas en las aguas.
Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

Tú magullaste las cabezas del leviathán; dístelo por comida al pueblo de los desiertos.
Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces. You gave him as food to people and desert creatures.
Tú hiciste que brotaran fuentes y arroyos; secaste ríos de inagotables corrientes.
Tú abriste fuente y río; tú secaste ríos impetuosos.
Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.
You opened up spring and stream. You dried up mighty rivers.
Por igual te pertenecen el día y la noche; tú hiciste la luz de las estrellas y el sol.
Tuyo es el día, tuya también es la noche: tú aparejaste la luna y el sol.
The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

La naturaleza entera está en tus manos; tú haces también el verano y el invierno.
Tú estableciste todos los términos de la tierra: el verano y el invierno tú los formaste.

Recuerda, Señor, que tu enemigo se burla, y que un pueblo insensato ofende tu nombre.
Acuérdate de esto: que el enemigo ha dicho afrentas á Jehová, y que el pueblo insensato ha blasfemado tu nombre.
Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

Oh, Señor, ¡sálvame! Protege de los gavilanes a tu tórtola. Salva de estas bestias a tu pueblo amado.
No entregues á las bestias el alma de tu tórtola: y no olvides para siempre la congregación de tus afligidos.
O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.
Don’t deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts. Don’t forget the life of your poor forever.
¡Acuérdate de tu promesa! La tierra está llena de oscuridad y de hombres crueles.
Mira al pacto: porque las tenebrosidades de la tierra llenas están de habitaciones de violencia.
Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.
Honor your covenant, for haunts of violence fill the dark places of the earth.
Oh, Señor, no dejes que tu pisoteado pueblo sea continuamente injuriado. Da motivo para que estos pobres y menesterosos alaben tu nombre.
No vuelva avergonzado el abatido: el afligido y el menesteroso alabarán tu nombre.
O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

Álzate, oh Dios, y plantea tu causa delante de tus enemigos. Recuerda los insultos que estos rebeldes han lanzado contra ti el día entero.
Levántate, oh Dios, aboga tu causa: acuérdate de cómo el insensato te injuria cada día.
Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

No disimules las maldiciones de estos enemigos tuyos; ellas se vuelven cada vez más clamorosas.
No olvides las voces de tus enemigos: el alboroto de los que se levantan contra ti sube continuamente.
Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.
Don’t forget the voice of your adversaries. The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.
