I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.
My cry goes to God! Indeed, I cry to God for help, and for him to listen to me.
(077-3) Zur Zeit meiner Not suchte ich den Herrn; meine Hand war des Nachts unablässig ausgestreckt, meine Seele wollte sich nicht trösten lassen.
Al Señor busqué en el día de mi angustia: mi mal corría de noche, y no cesaba: mi alma rehusaba consuelo.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.

(077-4) Dachte ich an Gott, so mußte ich seufzen, sann ich nach, so ward mein Geist bekümmert. (Pause.)

(077-5) Du hieltest meine Augenlider offen; ich warf mich hin und her und konnte nicht reden.
Tenías los párpados de mis ojos: estaba yo quebrantado, y no hablaba.
Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
You hold my eyelids open. I am so troubled that I can’t speak.
(077-6) Da gedachte ich der alten Zeit, der vorigen Jahre;

(077-7) ich erinnerte mich wieder an mein Saitenspiel, betete in meinem Herzen, und mein Geist fing an zu forschen:
Acordábame de mis canciones de noche; meditaba con mi corazón, y mi espíritu inquiría.
I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
I remember my song in the night. I consider in my own heart; my spirit diligently inquires:
(077-8) Wird denn der Herr auf ewig verstoßen und fortan nicht mehr gnädig sein?
¿Desechará el Señor para siempre, y no volverá más á amar?
Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
“Will the Lord reject us forever? Will he be favorable no more?
(077-9) Ist's denn ganz und gar aus mit seiner Gnade, und hat sein Reden für immer aufgehört?
¿Hase acabado para siempre su misericordia? ¿hase acabado la palabra suya para generación y generación?
Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?
Has his loving kindness vanished forever? Does his promise fail for generations?
(077-10) Hat denn Gott vergessen, gnädig zu sein, und im Zorn seine Barmherzigkeit verschlossen? (Pause.)
¿Ha olvidado Dios el tener misericordia? ¿ha encerrado con ira sus piedades? (Selah.)
Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.
Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he, in anger, withheld his compassion?” Selah.
(077-11) Und ich sprach: Ich will das leiden, die Änderungen, welche die rechte Hand des Höchsten getroffen hat.
Y dije: Enfermedad mía es esta; traeré pues á la memoria los años de la diestra del Altísimo.
And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

(077-12) Ich will rühmen die Taten des HERRN; denn ich gedenke deiner vorigen Wunder
Acordaréme de las obras de JAH: sí, haré yo memoria de tus maravillas antiguas.
I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.

(077-13) und besinne mich aller deiner Werke und ziehe deine großen Taten in Betracht:
Y meditaré en todas tus obras, y hablaré de tus hechos.
I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
I will also meditate on all your work, and consider your doings.
(077-14) O Gott, dein Weg ist heilig! Wer ist ein so großer Gott wie du?
Oh Dios, en santidad es tu camino: ¿qué Dios grande como el Dios nuestro?
Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
Your way, God, is in the sanctuary. What god is great like God?
(077-15) Du bist der Gott, der Wunder tut; du hast deine Macht bewiesen an den Völkern!
Tú eres el Dios que hace maravillas: tú hiciste notoria en los pueblos tu fortaleza.
Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
You are the God who does wonders. You have made your strength known among the peoples.
(077-16) Du hast dein Volk erlöst mit deinem Arm, die Kinder Jakobs und Josephs. (Pause.)
Con tu brazo redimiste á tu pueblo, á los hijos de Jacob y de José. (Selah.)
Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
You have redeemed your people with your arm, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
(077-17) Als dich, o Gott, die Wasser sahen, als dich die Wasser sahen, da brausten sie und das Meer ward aufgeregt;
Viéronte las aguas, oh Dios; viéronte las aguas, temieron; y temblaron los abismos.
The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.

(077-18) die Wolken gossen Wasser, es donnerte in den Lüften, und deine Pfeile fuhren daher;
Las nubes echaron inundaciones de aguas; tronaron los cielos, y discurrieron tus rayos.
The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.

(077-19) deine Donnerstimme erschallte im Wirbelwind, die Blitze beleuchteten den Erdkreis, daß die Erde in Zittern und Beben geriet;
Anduvo en derredor el sonido de tus truenos; los relámpagos alumbraron el mundo; estremecióse y tembló la tierra.
The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
The voice of your thunder was in the whirlwind. The lightnings lit up the world. The earth trembled and shook.
(077-20) dein Weg war im Meer und deine Bahn in großen Wassern, und deine Fußstapfen waren nicht zu erkennen;
En la mar fué tu camino, y tus sendas en las muchas aguas; y tus pisadas no fueron conocidas.
Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.
Your way was through the sea, your paths through the great waters. Your footsteps were not known.
(077-21) du führtest dein Volk wie eine Herde durch Mose und Aaron.
Condujiste á tu pueblo como ovejas, por mano de Moisés y de Aarón.
Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
You led your people like a flock, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
