El jabalí del bosque la destroza, y los animales salvajes se alimentan de ella.
Estropeóla el puerco montés, y pacióla la bestia del campo.
The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

Regresa a nosotros, te lo rogamos, Dios de los Ejércitos. Mira desde el cielo, observa y cuida esta vid,

Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
Turn again, we beg you, God of Armies. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine,
la raíz que plantaste con tu mano derecha, el hijo que hiciste crecer fuerte para ti.
Y la planta que plantó tu diestra, y el renuevo que para ti corroboraste.
And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

Tu vid ha sido cortada y quemada en el fuego; ¡que tus enemigos perezcan ante tu reprensión!
Quemada á fuego está, asolada: perezcan por la reprensión de tu rostro.

Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

Así no nos apartaremos de ti; devuélvenos la vida, e invocaremos tu nombre.
