Sea recibida mi oración en tu presencia; da oídos a mi súplica;
Entre mi oración en tu presencia: inclina tu oído á mi clamor.
Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;
Let my prayer enter into your presence. Turn your ear to my cry.
porque mi alma está harta de males, y tengo ya un pie en el sepulcro.

Ya me cuentan entre los muertos; he venido a ser como un hombre desamparado de todos,
Soy contado con los que descienden al hoyo, soy como hombre sin fuerza:

relegado entre los muertos, como los acuchillados que yacen en los sepulcros y de quienes no te acuerdas ya, como desechados de tu mano.
Libre entre los muertos, como los matados que yacen en el sepulcro, que no te acuerdas más de ellos, y que son cortados de tu mano.

Me pusieron en un profundo calabozo, en lugares tenebrosos, entre las sombras de la muerte.
Hasme puesto en el hoyo profundo, en tinieblas, en honduras.
Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.

Tu furor carga de firme sobre mí, y has hecho que se estrellaran en mí todas las olas.

Alejaste de mí mis conocidos, me miraron como objeto de su abominación. Cogido estoy, y no hallo salida.

Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

Me flaquearon de miseria los ojos. A ti clamé, ¡oh Señor!, todo el día; hacia ti tuve extendidas mis manos.
Mis ojos enfermaron á causa de mi aflicción: hete llamado, oh Jehová, cada día; he extendido á ti mis manos.
Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.

¿Harás tú por ventura milagros en favor de los muertos? Acaso los médicos los resucitarán, para que canten tus alabanzas?

Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.

¿Habrá tal vez alguno que en el sepulcro publique tu misericordia, o desde la tumba tu verdad?

¿Cómo han de ser conocidas en las tinieblas tus maravillas, y tu justicia en la región del olvido?
¿Será conocida en las tinieblas tu maravilla, ni tu justicia en la tierra del olvido?
Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
Are your wonders made known in the dark? Or your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
Por eso yo clamo a ti, ¡oh Señor!, y me adelanto a la aurora para presentarte mi oración.
Mas yo á ti he clamado, oh Jehová; y de mañana mi oración te previno.
But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.

¿Por qué, oh Señor, desechas mis ruegos y me escondes tu rostro?

Yo viví pobre, y me crié en trabajos desde mi tierna edad; no bien fui ensalzado, cuando me vi humillado y abatido.
Yo soy afligido y menesteroso: desde la mocedad he llevado tus terrores, he estado medroso.
I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.

Sobre mí ha recaído tu ira; y tus terrores me conturbaron.

Me inundan éstos cada día como avenidas de agua; me cercan todos a una.

Has alejado de mí a mis amigos, parientes y conocidos, por causa de mis desastres.
Has alejado de mí el amigo y el compañero; y mis conocidos se esconden en la tiniebla.
