1Ein Maskil; von Ethan, dem Esrachiter. Die Gütigkeiten Jehovas will ich besingen ewiglich, von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht mit meinem Munde kundmachen deine Treue.
2Denn ich sagte: Auf ewig wird die Güte gebaut werden; die Himmel, in ihnen wirst du feststellen deine Treue.
3Einen Bund habe ich mit meinem Auserwählten gemacht, habe David, meinem Knechte, geschworen:
4“Bis in Ewigkeit will ich feststellen deinen Samen, und auf alle Geschlechter hin bauen deinen Thron.” (Sela.)
5Und die Himmel werden deine Wunder preisen, Jehova, und deine Treue in der Versammlung der Heiligen.
6Denn wer in den Wolken ist mit Jehova zu vergleichen? Wer ist Jehova gleich unter den Söhnen der Starken?
7Er ist ein Gott, gar erschrecklich in der Versammlung der Heiligen, und furchtbar über alle, die rings um ihn her sind.
8Jehova, Gott der Heerscharen, wer ist mächtig wie du, o Jah? Und deine Treue ist rings um dich her.
9Du beherrschest des Meeres Toben; erheben sich seine Wogen, du stillest sie.
10Du hast Rahab zertreten wie einen Erschlagenen; mit deinem starken Arme hast du deine Feinde zerstreut.
11Dein sind die Himmel und dein die Erde; der Erdkreis und seine Fülle, du hast sie gegründet.
12Norden und Süden, du hast sie erschaffen; Tabor und Hermon jubeln in deinem Namen.
13Du hast einen gewaltigen Arm, stark ist deine Hand, hoch deine Rechte.
14Gerechtigkeit und Gericht sind deines Thrones Grundfeste; Güte und Wahrheit gehen vor deinem Angesicht her.
15Glückselig das Volk, das den Jubelschall kennt! Jehova, im Lichte deines Angesichts wandeln sie.
16In deinem Namen frohlocken sie den ganzen Tag, und durch deine Gerechtigkeit werden sie erhöht.
17Denn die Zierde ihrer Stärke bist du; und durch deine Gunst wird erhöht werden unser Horn.
18Denn Jehova ist unser Schild, und der Heilige Israels unser König.
19Dazumal redetest du im Gesicht von deinem Frommen und sagtest: Hilfe habe ich auf einen Mächtigen gelegt, ich habe einen Auserwählten erhöht aus dem Volke.
20Ich habe David gefunden, meinen Knecht, mit meinem heiligen Öle habe ich ihn gesalbt-
21mit welchem fest bleiben soll meine Hand, und mein Arm soll ihn stärken.
22Nicht soll ihn drängen der Feind, und der Sohn der Ungerechtigkeit ihn nicht bedrücken;
23und ich will seine Bedränger vor ihm zerschmettern, und seine Hasser will ich schlagen.
24Und meine Treue und meine Güte werden mit ihm sein, und durch meinen Namen wird sein Horn erhöht werden.
25Und ich will seine Hand an das Meer legen, und seine Rechte an die Ströme.
26Er wird mir zurufen: Mein Vater bist du, mein Gott, und der Fels meiner Rettung!
27So will auch ich ihn zum Erstgeborenen machen, zum Höchsten der Könige der Erde.
28Ewig will ich ihm meine Güte bewahren, und mein Bund soll ihm fest bleiben.
29Und ich will seinen Samen einsetzen für immer, und seinen Thron wie die Tage der Himmel.
30Wenn seine Söhne mein Gesetz verlassen und nicht wandeln in meinen Rechten,
31wenn sie meine Satzungen entweihen und meine Gebote nicht halten,
32so werde ich mit der Rute heimsuchen ihre Übertretung, und mit Schlägen ihre Ungerechtigkeit.
33Aber meine Güte werde ich nicht von ihm weichen lassen, und nicht verleugnen meine Treue.
34Nicht werde ich entweihen meinen Bund, und nicht ändern, was hervorgegangen ist aus meinen Lippen.
35Einmal habe ich geschworen bei meiner Heiligkeit: Wenn ich dem David lüge!
36Sein Same wird ewig sein, und sein Thron wie die Sonne vor mir;
37ewiglich wird er feststehen wie der Mond; und der Zeuge in den Wolken ist treu. (Sela.)
38Du aber hast verworfen und verstoßen, bist sehr zornig gewesen gegen deinen Gesalbten;
39Du hast verworfen den Bund deines Knechtes, hast zu Boden entweiht seine Krone;
40Du hast niedergerissen alle seine Mauern, hast seine Festen in Trümmer gelegt.
41Es haben ihn beraubt alle, die des Weges vorübergehen; er ist zum Hohn geworden seinen Nachbarn.
42Du hast erhöht die Rechte seiner Bedränger, hast erfreut alle seine Feinde;
43auch hast du zurückgewandt die Schärfe seines Schwertes, und hast ihn nicht bestehen lassen im Kampfe;
44Du hast aufhören lassen seinen Glanz und zur Erde gestürzt seinen Thron;
45Du hast verkürzt die Tage seiner Jugend, mit Schmach hast du ihn bedeckt. (Sela.)
46Bis wann, Jehova, willst du dich immerfort verbergen, soll wie Feuer brennen dein Grimm?
47Gedenke, was meine Lebensdauer ist, zu welcher Nichtigkeit du alle Menschenkinder erschaffen hast!
48Welcher Mann lebt und wird den Tod nicht sehen, wird seine Seele befreien von der Gewalt des Scheols? (Sela.)
49Wo sind, o Herr, deine früheren Gütigkeiten, die du David zugeschworen hast in deiner Treue?
50Gedenke, Herr, des Hohnes deiner Knechte, daß ich in meinem Busen trage den Hohn all der vielen Völker,
51womit deine Feinde gehöhnt haben, Jehova, womit sie gehöhnt haben die Fußstapfen deines Gesalbten!
52Gepriesen sei Jehova ewiglich! Amen, ja, Amen!

1Masquil de Ethán Ezrahita. LAS misericordias de Jehová cantaré perpetuamente: en generación y generación haré notoria tu verdad con mi boca.
2Porque dije: Para siempre será edificada misericordia; en los mismos cielos apoyarás tu verdad.
3Hice alianza con mi escogido; juré á David mi siervo, diciendo:
4Para siempre confirmaré tu simiente, y edificaré tu trono por todas las generaciones. (Selah.)
5Y celebrarán los cielos tu maravilla, oh Jehová; tu verdad también en la congregación de los santos.
6Porque ¿quién en los cielos se igualará con Jehová? ¿quién será semejante á Jehová entre los hijos de los potentados?
7Dios terrible en la grande congregación de los santos, y formidable sobre todos cuantos están alrededor suyo.
8Oh Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, ¿quién como tú? Poderoso eres, Jehová, y tu verdad está en torno de ti.
9Tú tienes dominio sobre la bravura de la mar: cuando se levantan sus ondas, tú las sosiegas.
10Tú quebrantaste á Rahab como á un muerto: con el brazo de tu fortaleza esparciste á tus enemigos.
11Tuyos los cielos, tuya también la tierra: el mundo y su plenitud, tú lo fundaste.
12Al aquilón y al austro tú los criaste: Tabor y Hermón cantarán en tu nombre.
13Tuyo el brazo con valentía; fuerte es tu mano, ensalzada tu diestra.
14Justicia y juicio son el asiento de tu trono: misericordia y verdad van delante de tu rostro.
15Bienaventurado el pueblo que sabe aclamarte: andarán, oh Jehová, á la luz de tu rostro.
16En tu nombre se alegrarán todo el día; y en tu justicia serán ensalzados.
17Porque tú eres la gloria de su fortaleza; y por tu buena voluntad ensalzarás nuestro cuerno.
18Porque Jehová es nuestro escudo; y nuestro rey es el Santo de Israel.
19Entonces hablaste en visión á tu santo, y dijiste: Yo he puesto el socorro sobre valiente; he ensalzado un escogido de mi pueblo.
20Hallé á David mi siervo; ungílo con el aceite de mi santidad.
21Mi mano será firme con él, mi brazo también lo fortificará.
22No lo avasallará enemigo, ni hijo de iniquidad lo quebrantará.
23Mas yo quebrantaré delante de él á sus enemigos, y heriré á sus aborrecedores.
24Y mi verdad y mi misericordia serán con él; y en mi nombre será ensalzado su cuerno.
25Asimismo pondré su mano en la mar, y en los ríos su diestra.
26El me llamará: Mi padre eres tú, mi Dios, y la roca de mi salud.
27Yo también le pondré por primogénito, alto sobre los reyes de la tierra.
28Para siempre le conservaré mi misericordia; y mi alianza será firme con él.
29Y pondré su simiente para siempre, y su trono como los días de los cielos.
30Si dejaren sus hijos mi ley, y no anduvieren en mis juicios;
31Si profanaren mis estatutos, y no guardaren mis mandamientos;
32Entonces visitaré con vara su rebelión, y con azotes sus iniquidades.
33Mas no quitaré de él mi misericordia, ni falsearé mi verdad.
34No olvidaré mi pacto, ni mudaré lo que ha salido de mis labios.
35Una vez he jurado por mi santidad, que no mentiré á David.
36Su simiente será para siempre, y su trono como el sol delante de mí.
37Como la luna será firme para siempre, y como un testigo fiel en el cielo. (Selah.)
38Mas tú desechaste y menospreciaste á tu ungido; y te has airado con él.
39Rompiste el pacto de tu siervo; has profanado su corona hasta la tierra.
40Aportillaste todos sus vallados; has quebrantado sus fortalezas.
41Menoscabáronle todos los que pasaron por el camino: es oprobio á sus vecinos.
42Has ensalzado la diestra de sus enemigos; has alegrado á todos sus adversarios.
43Embotaste asimismo el filo de su espada, y no lo levantaste en la batalla.
44Hiciste cesar su brillo, y echaste su trono por tierra.
45Has acortado los días de su juventud; hasle cubierto de afrenta. (Selah.)
46¿Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová? ¿te esconderás para siempre? ¿arderá tu ira como el fuego?
47Acuérdate de cuán corto sea mi tiempo: ¿por qué habrás criado en vano á todos los hijos del hombre?
48¿Qué hombre vivirá y no verá muerte? ¿librarás su vida del poder del sepulcro? (Selah.)
49Señor, ¿dónde están tus antiguas misericordias, que juraste á David por tu verdad?
50Señor, acuérdate del oprobio de tus siervos; oprobio que llevo yo en mi seno de muchos pueblos.
51Porque tus enemigos, oh Jehová, han deshonrado, porque tus enemigos han deshonrado los pasos de tu ungido.

1I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
2For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
3I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
4Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
5And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
6For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
7God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
8O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
9Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.
10Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
11The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.
12The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.
13Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
14Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
15Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
16In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
17For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
18For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.
19Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.
20I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
21With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
22The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
23And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
24But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
25I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

34My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
35Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
36His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
37It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.
38But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.
39Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.
40Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.
41All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.
42Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
43Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.

1I will sing of the loving kindness of the LORD forever. With my mouth, I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
2I indeed declare, “Love stands firm forever. You established the heavens. Your faithfulness is in them.”
3“I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David, my servant,
4‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build up your throne to all generations.’” Selah.
5The heavens will praise your wonders, LORD, your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
6For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the sons of the heavenly beings is like the LORD,
7a very awesome God in the council of the holy ones, to be feared above all those who are around him?
8LORD, God of Armies, who is a mighty one, like you? LORD, your faithfulness is around you.
9You rule the pride of the sea. When its waves rise up, you calm them.
10You have broken Rahab in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
11The heavens are yours. The earth also is yours, the world and its fullness. You have founded them.
12You have created the north and the south. Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.
13You have a mighty arm. Your hand is strong, and your right hand is exalted.
14Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Loving kindness and truth go before your face.
15Blessed are the people who learn to acclaim you. They walk in the light of your presence, LORD.
16In your name they rejoice all day. In your righteousness, they are exalted.
17For you are the glory of their strength. In your favor, our horn will be exalted.
18For our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.
19Then you spoke in vision to your saints, and said, “I have given strength to the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people.
20I have found David, my servant. I have anointed him with my holy oil,
21with whom my hand shall be established. My arm will also strengthen him.
22No enemy will tax him. No wicked man will oppress him.
23I will beat down his adversaries before him, and strike those who hate him.
24But my faithfulness and my loving kindness will be with him. In my name, his horn will be exalted.
25I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
26He will call to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation!’
27I will also appoint him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.
28I will keep my loving kindness for him forever more. My covenant will stand firm with him.

30If his children forsake my law, and don’t walk in my ordinances;
31if they break my statutes, and don’t keep my commandments;
32then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
33But I will not completely take my loving kindness from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail.
34I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered.
35Once I have sworn by my holiness, I will not lie to David.
36His offspring will endure forever, his throne like the sun before me.

38But you have rejected and spurned. You have been angry with your anointed.
39You have renounced the covenant of your servant. You have defiled his crown in the dust.
40You have broken down all his hedges. You have brought his strongholds to ruin.
41All who pass by the way rob him. He has become a reproach to his neighbors.
42You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries. You have made all of his enemies rejoice.
43Yes, you turn back the edge of his sword, and haven’t supported him in battle.
44You have ended his splendor, and thrown his throne down to the ground.
45You have shortened the days of his youth. You have covered him with shame. Selah.
46How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? Will your wrath burn like fire?
47Remember how short my time is, for what vanity you have created all the children of men!
48What man is he who shall live and not see death, who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah.
49Lord, where are your former loving kindnesses, which you swore to David in your faithfulness?
50Remember, Lord, the reproach of your servants, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the mighty peoples,
51With which your enemies have mocked, LORD, with which they have mocked the footsteps of your anointed one.
