1Puis un des sept anges qui tenaient les sept coupes vint, et il m’adressa la parole, en disant: Viens, je te montrerai le jugement de la grande prostituée qui est assise sur les grandes eaux.
2C’est avec elle que les rois de la terre se sont livrés à l’impudicité, et c’est du vin de son impudicité que les habitants de la terre se sont enivrés.
3Il me transporta en esprit dans un désert. Et je vis une femme assise sur une bête écarlate, pleine de noms de blasphème, ayant sept têtes et dix cornes.
4Cette femme était vêtue de pourpre et d’écarlate, et parée d’or, de pierres précieuses et de perles. Elle tenait dans sa main une coupe d’or, remplie d’abominations et des impuretés de sa prostitution.
5Sur son front était écrit un nom, un mystère: Babylone la grande, la mère des impudiques et des abominations de la terre.
6Et je vis cette femme ivre du sang des saints et du sang des témoins de Jésus. Et, en la voyant, je fus saisi d’un grand étonnement.
7Et l’ange me dit: Pourquoi t’étonnes-tu? Je te dirai le mystère de la femme et de la bête qui la porte, qui a les sept têtes et les dix cornes.
8La bête que tu as vue était, et elle n’est plus. Elle doit monter de l’abîme, et aller à la perdition. Et les habitants de la terre, ceux dont le nom n’a pas été écrit dès la fondation du monde dans le livre de vie, s’étonneront en voyant la bête, parce qu’elle était, et qu’elle n’est plus, et qu’elle reparaîtra.
9C’est ici l’intelligence qui a de la sagesse. Les sept têtes sont sept montagnes, sur lesquelles la femme est assise.
10Ce sont aussi sept rois: cinq sont tombés, un existe, l’autre n’est pas encore venu, et quand il sera venu, il doit rester peu de temps.
11Et la bête qui était, et qui n’est plus, est elle-même un huitième roi, et elle est du nombre des sept, et elle va à la perdition.
12Les dix cornes que tu as vues sont dix rois, qui n’ont pas encore reçu de royaume, mais qui reçoivent autorité comme rois pendant une heure avec la bête.
13Ils ont un même dessein, et ils donnent leur puissance et leur autorité à la bête.
14Ils combattront contre l’agneau, et l’agneau les vaincra, parce qu’il est le Seigneur des seigneurs et le Roi des rois, et les appelés, les élus et les fidèles qui sont avec lui les vaincront aussi.
15Et il me dit: Les eaux que tu as vues, sur lesquelles la prostituée est assise, ce sont des peuples, des foules, des nations, et des langues.
16Les dix cornes que tu as vues et la bête haïront la prostituée, la dépouilleront et la mettront à nu, mangeront ses chairs, et la consumeront par le feu.
17Car Dieu a mis dans leurs cœurs d’exécuter son dessein et d’exécuter un même dessein, et de donner leur royauté à la bête, jusqu’à ce que les paroles de Dieu soient accomplies.
18Et la femme que tu as vue, c’est la grande ville qui a la royauté sur les rois de la terre.

1Y VINO uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas, y habló conmigo, diciéndome: Ven acá, y te mostraré la condenación de la grande ramera, la cual está sentada sobre muchas aguas:
2Con la cual han fornicado los reyes de la tierra, y los que moran en la tierra se han embriagado con el vino de su fornicación.
3Y me llevó en Espíritu al desierto; y vi una mujer sentada sobre una bestia bermeja llena de nombres de blasfemia y que tenía siete cabezas y diez cuernos.
4Y la mujer estaba vestida de púrpura y de escarlata, y dorada con oro, y adornada de piedras preciosas y de perlas, teniendo un cáliz de oro en su mano lleno de abominaciones, y de la suciedad de su fornicación;
5Y en su frente un nombre escrito: MISTERIO, BABILONIA LA GRANDE, LA MADRE DE LAS FORNICACIONES Y DE LAS ABOMINACIONES DE LA TIERRA.
6Y vi la mujer embriagada de la sangre de los santos, y de la sangre de los mártires de Jesús: y cuando la vi, quedé maravillado de grande admiración.
7Y el ángel me dijo: ¿Por qué te maravillas? Yo te diré el misterio de la mujer, y de la bestia que la trae, la cual tiene siete cabezas y diez cuernos.
8La bestia que has visto, fué, y no es; y ha de subir del abismo, y ha de ir á perdición: y los moradores de la tierra, cuyos nombres no están escritos en el libro de la vida desde la fundación del mundo, se maravillarán viendo la bestia que era y no es, aunque es.
9Y aquí hay mente que tiene sabiduría. Las siete cabezas son siete montes, sobre los cuales se asienta la mujer.
10Y son siete reyes. Los cinco son caídos; el uno es, el otro aun no es venido; y cuando viniere, es necesario que dure breve tiempo.
11Y la bestia que era, y no es, es también el octavo, y es de los siete, y va á perdición.
12Y los diez cuernos que has visto, son diez reyes, que aun no han recibido reino; mas tomarán potencia por una hora como reyes con la bestia.
13Estos tienen un consejo, y darán su potencia y autoridad á la bestia.
14Ellos pelearán contra el Cordero, y el Cordero los vencerá, porque es el Señor de los señores, y el Rey de los reyes: y los que están con él son llamados, y elegidos, y fieles.
15Y él me dice: Las aguas que has visto donde la ramera se sienta, son pueblos y muchedumbres y naciones y lenguas.
16Y los diez cuernos que viste en la bestia, éstos aborrecerán á la ramera, y la harán desolada y desnuda: y comerán sus carnes, y la quemarán con fuego:
17Porque Dios ha puesto en sus corazones ejecutar lo que le plugo, y el ponerse de acuerdo, y dar su reino á la bestia, hasta que sean cumplidas las palabras de Dios.
18Y la mujer que has visto, es la grande ciudad que tiene reino sobre los reyes de la tierra.

1And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
2With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
3So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
7And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
9And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
10And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
11And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
15And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
16And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
18And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

1One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters,
2with whom the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality. Those who dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her sexual immorality.”
3He carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-colored beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.
4The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of the sexual immorality of the earth.
5And on her forehead a name was written, “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”
6I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.
7The angel said to me, “Why do you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.
8The beast that you saw was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss and to go into destruction. Those who dwell on the earth and whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel when they see that the beast was, and is not, and shall be present.
9Here is the mind that has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.
10They are seven kings. Five have fallen, the one is, and the other has not yet come. When he comes, he must continue a little while.
11The beast that was, and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is of the seven; and he goes to destruction.
12The ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour.
13These have one mind, and they give their power and authority to the beast.
14These will war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
15He said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages.
16The ten horns which you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute, will make her desolate, will strip her naked, will eat her flesh, and will burn her utterly with fire.
17For God has put in their hearts to do what he has in mind, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God should be accomplished.
18The woman whom you saw is the great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.”
