1Und der fünfte Engel posaunte: und ich sah einen Stern, der vom Himmel auf die Erde gefallen war; und es wurde ihm der Schlüssel zum Schlunde des Abgrundes gegeben.
2Und er öffnete den Schlund des Abgrundes; und ein Rauch stieg auf aus dem Schlunde wie der Rauch eines großen Ofens, und die Sonne und die Luft wurden von dem Rauche des Schlundes verfinstert.
3Und aus dem Rauche kamen Heuschrecken hervor auf die Erde, und es wurde ihnen Gewalt gegeben, wie die Skorpionen der Erde Gewalt haben.
4Und es wurde ihnen gesagt, daß sie nicht beschädigen sollten das Gras der Erde, noch irgend etwas Grünes, noch irgend einen Baum, sondern die Menschen, welche nicht das Siegel Gottes an ihren Stirnen haben.
5Und es wurde ihnen gegeben, daß sie sie nicht töteten, sondern daß sie fünf Monate gequält würden; und ihre Qual war wie die Qual eines Skorpions, wenn er einen Menschen schlägt.
6Und in jenen Tagen werden die Menschen den Tod suchen und werden ihn nicht finden, und werden zu sterben begehren, und der Tod flieht vor ihnen.
7Und die Gestalten der Heuschrecken waren gleich zum Kampfe gerüsteten Pferden, und auf ihren Köpfen wie Kronen gleich Gold, und ihre Angesichter wie Menschenangesichter;
8und sie hatten Haare wie Weiberhaare, und ihre Zähne waren wie die der Löwen.
9Und sie hatten Panzer wie eiserne Panzer, und das Geräusch ihrer Flügel war wie das Geräusch von Wagen mit vielen Pferden, die in den Kampf laufen;
10und sie haben Schwänze gleich Skorpionen, und Stacheln, und ihre Gewalt ist in ihren Schwänzen, die Menschen fünf Monate zu beschädigen.
11Sie haben über sich einen König, den Engel des Abgrundes; sein Name ist auf hebräisch Abaddon, und im Griechischen hat er den Namen Apollyon.
12Das eine Wehe ist vorüber; siehe, es kommen noch zwei Wehe nach diesen Dingen.
13Und der sechste Engel posaunte: und ich hörte eine Stimme aus den vier Hörnern des goldenen Altars, der vor Gott ist, zu dem sechsten Engel,
14der die Posaune hatte, sagen: Löse die vier Engel, welche an dem großen Strome Euphrat gebunden sind.
15Und die vier Engel wurden gelöst, welche bereitet waren auf Stunde und Tag und Monat und Jahr, auf daß sie den dritten Teil der Menschen töteten.
16Und die Zahl der Kriegsheere zu Roß war zweimal zehntausend mal zehntausend; ich hörte ihre Zahl.
17Und also sah ich die Rosse in dem Gesicht und die auf ihnen saßen: und sie hatten feurige und hyazinthene und schweflichte Panzer; und die Köpfe der Rosse waren wie Löwenköpfe, und aus ihren Mäulern geht Feuer und Rauch und Schwefel hervor.
18Von diesen drei Plagen wurde der dritte Teil der Menschen getötet, von dem Feuer und dem Rauch und dem Schwefel, die aus ihren Mäulern hervorgehen.
19Denn die Gewalt der Rosse ist in ihrem Maule und in ihren Schwänzen; denn ihre Schwänze sind gleich Schlangen und haben Köpfe, und mit ihnen beschädigen sie.
20Und die übrigen der Menschen, welche durch diese Plagen nicht getötet wurden, taten nicht Buße von den Werken ihrer Hände, daß sie nicht anbeteten die Dämonen und die goldenen und die silbernen und die ehernen und die steinernen und die hölzernen Götzenbilder, die weder sehen noch hören noch wandeln können.
21Und sie taten nicht Buße von ihren Mordtaten, noch von ihren Zaubereien, noch von ihrer Hurerei, noch von ihren Diebstählen.

1Y EL quinto ángel tocó la trompeta, y vi una estrella que cayó del cielo en la tierra; y le fué dada la llave del pozo del abismo.
2Y abrió el pozo del abismo, y subió humo del pozo como el humo de un gran horno; y oscurecióse el sol y el aire por el humo del pozo.
3Y del humo salieron langostas sobre la tierra; y fuéles dada potestad, como tienen potestad los escorpiones de la tierra.
4Y les fué mandado que no hiciesen daño á la hierba de la tierra, ni á ninguna cosa verde, ni á ningún árbol, sino solamente á los hombres que no tienen la señal de Dios en sus frentes.
5Y les fué dado que no los matasen, sino que los atormentasen cinco meses; y su tormento era como tormento de escorpión, cuando hiere al hombre.
6Y en aquellos días buscarán los hombres la muerte, y no la hallarán; y desearán morir, y la muerte huirá de ellos.
7Y el parecer de las langostas era semejante á caballos aparejados para la guerra: y sobre sus cabezas tenían como coronas semejantes al oro; y sus caras como caras de hombres.
8Y tenían cabellos como cabellos de mujeres: y sus dientes eran como dientes de leones.
9Y tenían corazas como corazas de hierro; y el estruendo de sus alas, como el ruido de carros que con muchos caballos corren á la batalla.
10Y tenían colas semejantes á las de los escorpiones, y tenían en sus colas aguijones; y su poder era de hacer daño á los hombres cinco meses.
11Y tienen sobre sí por rey al ángel del abismo, cuyo nombre en hebraico es Abaddon, y en griego, Apollyon.
12El primer ¡Ay! es pasado: he aquí, vienen aún dos ayes después de estas cosas.
13Y el sexto ángel tocó la trompeta; y oí una voz de los cuatro cuernos del altar de oro que estaba delante de Dios,
14Diciendo al sexto ángel que tenía la trompeta: Desata los cuatro ángeles que están atados en el gran río Eufrates.
15Y fueron desatados los cuatro ángeles que estaban aparejados para la hora y día y mes y año, para matar la tercera parte de los hombres.
16Y el número del ejército de los de á caballo era doscientos millones. Y oí el número de ellos.
17Y así vi los caballos en visión, y los que sobre ellos estaban sentados, los cuales tenían corazas de fuego, de jacinto, y de azufre. Y las cabezas de los caballos eran como cabezas de leones; y de la boca de ellos salía fuego y humo y azufre.
18De estas tres plagas fué muerta la tercera parte de los hombres: del fuego, y del humo, y del azufre, que salían de la boca de ellos.
19Porque su poder está en su boca y en sus colas: porque sus colas eran semejantes á serpientes, y tenían cabezas, y con ellas dañan.
20Y los otros hombres que no fueron muertos con estas plagas, aun no se arrepintieron de las obras de sus manos, para que no adorasen á los demonios, y á las imágenes de oro, y de plata, y de metal, y de piedra, y de madera; las cuales no pueden ver, ni oir, ni andar:
21Y no se arrepintieron de sus homicidios, ni de sus hechicerías, ni de su fornicación, ni de sus hurtos.

1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
2And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
6And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
7And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
8And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
9And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
10And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
11And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
12One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.
13And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
16And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
17And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
18By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
19For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
20And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
21Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

1The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him.
2He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke from the pit.
3Then out of the smoke came locusts on the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4They were told that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those people who don’t have God’s seal on their foreheads.
5They were given power, not to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a person.
6In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
7The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people’s faces.
8They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like those of lions.
9They had breastplates like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of many chariots and horses rushing to war.
10They have tails like those of scorpions, with stingers. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.
11They have over them as king the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is “Abaddon”, but in Greek, he has the name “Apollyon”.
12The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this.
13The sixth angel sounded. I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Free the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!”
15The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they might kill one third of mankind.
16The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million. I heard the number of them.
17Thus I saw the horses in the vision and those who sat on them, having breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the horses’ heads resembled lions’ heads. Out of their mouths proceed fire, smoke, and sulfur.
18By these three plagues, one third of mankind was killed: by the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur, which proceeded out of their mouths.
19For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails. For their tails are like serpents, and have heads; and with them they harm.
20The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, didn’t repent of the works of their hands, that they wouldn’t worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood, which can’t see, hear, or walk.
21They didn’t repent of their murders, their sorceries, their sexual immorality, or their thefts.
