1Liebe Brüder, meines Herzens Wunsch ist, und ich flehe auch zu Gott für Israel, daß sie selig werden.
2Denn ich gebe ihnen das Zeugnis, daß sie eifern um Gott, aber mit Unverstand.
3Denn sie erkennen die Gerechtigkeit nicht, die vor Gott gilt, und trachten, ihre eigene Gerechtigkeit aufzurichten, und sind also der Gerechtigkeit, die vor Gott gilt, nicht untertan.
4Denn Christus ist des Gesetzes Ende; wer an den glaubt, der ist gerecht.
5Mose schreibt wohl von der Gerechtigkeit, die aus dem Gesetz kommt: “Welcher Mensch dies tut, der wird dadurch leben.”
6Aber die Gerechtigkeit aus dem Glauben spricht also: “Sprich nicht in deinem Herzen: Wer will hinauf gen Himmel fahren?” (Das ist nichts anderes denn Christum herabholen.)
7Oder: “Wer will hinab in die Tiefe fahren?” (Das ist nichts anderes denn Christum von den Toten holen.)
8Aber was sagt sie? “Das Wort ist dir nahe, in deinem Munde und in deinem Herzen.” Dies ist das Wort vom Glauben, das wir predigen.
9Denn so du mit deinem Munde bekennst Jesum, daß er der HERR sei, und glaubst in deinem Herzen, daß ihn Gott von den Toten auferweckt hat, so wirst du selig.
10Denn so man von Herzen glaubt, so wird man gerecht; und so man mit dem Munde bekennt, so wird man selig.
11Denn die Schrift spricht: “Wer an ihn glaubt, wird nicht zu Schanden werden.”
12Es ist hier kein Unterschied unter Juden und Griechen; es ist aller zumal ein HERR, reich über alle, die ihn anrufen.
13Denn “wer den Namen des HERRN wird anrufen, soll selig werden.”
14Wie sollen sie aber den anrufen, an den sie nicht glauben? Wie sollen sie aber an den glauben, von dem sie nichts gehört haben? wie sollen sie aber hören ohne Prediger?
15Wie sollen sie aber predigen, wo sie nicht gesandt werden? Wie denn geschrieben steht: “Wie lieblich sich die Füße derer, die den Frieden verkündigen, die das Gute verkündigen!”
16Aber sie sind nicht alle dem Evangelium gehorsam. Denn Jesaja sagt: “HERR, wer glaubt unserm Predigen?”
17So kommt der Glaube aus der Predigt, das Predigen aber aus dem Wort Gottes.
18Ich sage aber: Haben sie es nicht gehört? Wohl, es ist ja in alle Lande ausgegangen ihr Schall und in alle Welt ihre Worte.
19Ich sage aber: Hat es Israel nicht erkannt? Aufs erste spricht Mose: “Ich will euch eifern machen über dem, das nicht ein Volk ist; und über ein unverständiges Volk will ich euch erzürnen.”
20Jesaja aber darf wohl so sagen: “Ich bin gefunden von denen, die mich nicht gesucht haben, und bin erschienen denen, die nicht nach mir gefragt haben.”
21Zu Israel aber spricht er: “Den ganzen Tag habe ich meine Hände ausgestreckt zu dem Volk, das sich nicht sagen läßt und widerspricht.”

1HERMANOS, ciertamente la voluntad de mi corazón y mi oración á Dios sobre Israel, es para salud.
2Porque yo les doy testimonio que tienen celo de Dios, mas no conforme á ciencia.
3Porque ignorando la justicia de Dios, y procurando establecer la suya propia, no se han sujetado á la justicia de Dios.
4Porque el fin de la ley es Cristo, para justicia á todo aquel que cree.
5Porque Moisés describe la justicia que es por la ley: Que el hombre que hiciere estas cosas, vivirá por ellas.
6Mas la justicia que es por la fe dice así: No digas en tu corazón: ¿Quién subirá al cielo? (esto es, para traer abajo á Cristo:)
7O, ¿quién descenderá al abismo? (esto es, para volver á traer á Cristo de los muertos.)
8Mas ¿qué dice? Cercana está la palabra, en tu boca y en tu corazón. Esta es la palabra de fe, la cual predicamos:
9Que si confesares con tu boca al Señor Jesús, y creyeres en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, serás salvo.
10Porque con el corazón se cree para justicia; mas con la boca se hace confesión para salud.
11Porque la Escritura dice: Todo aquel que en él creyere, no será avergonzado.
12Porque no hay diferencia de Judío y de Griego: porque el mismo que es Señor de todos, rico es para con todos los que le invocan:
13Porque todo aquel que invocare el nombre del Señor, será salvo.
14¿Cómo, pues invocarán á aquel en el cual no han creído? ¿y cómo creerán á aquel de quien no han oído? ¿y cómo oirán sin haber quien les predique?
15¿Y cómo predicarán si no fueren enviados? Como está escrito: ¡Cuán hermosos son los pies de los que anuncian el evangelio de la paz, de los que anuncian el evangelio de los bienes!
16Mas no todos obedecen al evangelio; pues Isaías dice: Señor, ¿quién ha creído á nuestro anuncio?
17Luego la fe es por el oir; y el oir por la palabra de Dios.
18Mas digo: ¿No han oído? Antes bien, por toda la tierra ha salido la fama de ellos, y hasta los cabos de la redondez de la tierra las palabras de ellos.
19Mas digo: ¿No ha conocido esto Israel? Primeramente Moisés dice: Yo os provocaré á celos con gente que no es mía; con gente insensata os provocaré á ira.
20E Isaías determinadamente dice: Fuí hallado de los que no me buscaban; manifestéme á los que no preguntaban por mí.
21Mas acerca de Israel dice: Todo el día extendí mis manos á un pueblo rebelde y contradictor.

1Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

1Brothers, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved.
2For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
4For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
5For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, “The one who does them will live by them.”
6But the righteousness which is of faith says this, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down);
7or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)”
8But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart;” that is, the word of faith which we preach:
9that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.
11For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”
12For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him.
13For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?
15And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”
16But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”
17So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18But I say, didn’t they hear? Yes, most certainly, “Their sound went out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”
19But I ask, didn’t Israel know? First Moses says, “I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation. I will make you angry with a nation void of understanding.”
20Isaiah is very bold and says, “I was found by those who didn’t seek me. I was revealed to those who didn’t ask for me.”
21But about Israel he says, “All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
