Obedeçam às autoridades governamentais, porque Deus foi quem estabeleceu todas elas. Não há governo, em parte alguma, que Deus não tenha colocado no poder.
TODA alma se someta á las potestades superiores; porque no hay potestad sino de Dios; y las que son, de Dios son ordenadas.
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Portanto, aqueles que se recusam a obedecer às autoridades estão se recusando a obedecer a Deus, e o castigo virá sobre eles.

Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Pois os governantes devem ser temidos apenas por aqueles que praticam o mal. Assim, se você não quiser ter medo da autoridade, guarde as leis e pratique o bem e tudo irá bem.
Porque los magistrados no son para temor al que bien hace, sino al malo. ¿Quieres pues no temer la potestad? haz lo bueno, y tendrás alabanza de ella;
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Pois a autoridade é enviada por Deus para o seu bem. Mas, se você estiver fazendo algo errado, é natural que deve ter medo, pois ela terá de castigá-lo. Ela é serva de Deus, agente da justiça para castigar quem pratica o mal.
Porque es ministro de Dios para tu bien. Mas si hicieres lo malo, teme: porque no en vano lleva el cuchillo; porque es ministro de Dios, vengador para castigo al que hace lo malo.
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Assim, vocês precisam obedecer às autoridades por duas razões: para evitar o castigo e por uma questão de consciência.
Por lo cual es necesario que le estéis sujetos, no solamente por la ira, mas aun por la conciencia.

Não devam nada a ninguém, exceto a dívida do amor de uns para com os outros! Se vocês amarem aos outros, estarão obedecendo a toda a Lei de Deus, e satisfazendo todas as suas exigências.
No debáis á nadie nada, sino amaros unos á otros; porque el que ama al prójimo, cumplió la ley.

Os seguintes mandamentos: “Não adultere, não mate, não roube, não cobice”, e qualquer outro mandamento, todos se resumem num só mandamento: “Ame o seu próximo como a si mesmo”.
Porque: No adulterarás; no matarás; no hurtarás; no dirás falso testimonio; no codiciarás; y si hay algún otro mandamiento, en esta sentencia se comprende sumariamente: Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
O amor não faz mal ao próximo. Essa é a razão pela qual ele satisfaz plenamente todas as exigências da Lei.

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Outra razão para uma vida correta é esta: Vocês sabem como já é tarde. O tempo está se escoando. Despertem do sono, pois a vinda do Senhor está mais próxima agora do que quando cremos no princípio.
Y esto, conociendo el tiempo, que es ya hora de levantarnos del sueño; porque ahora nos está más cerca nuestra salud que cuando creímos.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

A noite está quase terminando e o dia logo vem. Portanto, deixemos as más obras das trevas e revistamo-nos da armadura da luz, como devem fazer os que vivem na luz do dia!

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Sejamos modestos e verdadeiros em tudo o que fizermos, como quem age à luz do dia, a fim de que todos possam aprovar a nossa conduta. Não gastem o tempo em festanças desenfreadas, nem em bebedeiras, ou na imoralidade sexual e depravação, não em brigas ou ciumeiras.
Andemos como de día, honestamente: no en glotonerías y borracheras, no en lechos y disoluciones, no en pedencias y envidia:

Mas revistam-se do Senhor Jesus Cristo e não façam planos para deleitar-se nos desejos da natureza humana.
