1Ora, nós que somos fortes devemos suportar as fraquezas dos fracos, e não agradar a nós mesmos.
2Que cada um de nós agrade ao seu próximo visando o que é bom, para edificá-lo.
3Pois nem mesmo Cristo agradou a si mesmo. Mas, como está escrito: “Os insultos daqueles que te insultaram caíram sobre mim.”
4Pois tudo o que foi escrito no passado, foi escrito para o nosso ensino, para que, pela perseverança e pelo encorajamento das Escrituras, tenhamos esperança.
5Ora, que o Deus da perseverança e do encorajamento lhes conceda ter o mesmo modo de pensar uns com os outros, segundo Cristo Jesus,
6para que, unânimes e a uma só voz, vocês glorifiquem ao Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
7Portanto, aceitem-se uns aos outros, assim como Cristo também aceitou vocês, para a glória de Deus.
8Pois eu digo que Cristo se tornou servo da circuncisão por causa da verdade de Deus, para que pudesse confirmar as promessas feitas aos pais,
9e para que os gentios pudessem glorificar a Deus por sua misericórdia. Como está escrito: “Portanto, eu te louvarei entre os gentios e cantarei louvores ao teu nome.”
10Novamente ele diz: “Alegrem-se, gentios, com o povo dele.”
11E mais uma vez: “Louvem ao Senhor, todos vocês, gentios! Que todos os povos o louvem.”
12Novamente, Isaías diz: “Haverá a raiz de Jessé, aquele que se levanta para governar sobre os gentios; nele os gentios colocarão a sua esperança.”
13Ora, que o Deus da esperança os encha de toda alegria e paz na fé, para que vocês transbordem de esperança no poder do Espírito Santo.
14Eu mesmo também estou persuadido a respeito de vocês, meus irmãos, de que vocês mesmos estão cheios de bondade, repletos de todo o conhecimento, e também capazes de admoestar os outros.
15Mas eu lhes escrevo com mais ousadia em parte como um lembrete, por causa da graça que me foi dada por Deus,
16para que eu fosse um servo de Cristo Jesus para com os gentios, servindo como sacerdote das Boas Novas de Deus, para que a oferta dos gentios pudesse se tornar aceitável, santificada pelo Espírito Santo.
17Portanto, tenho do que me gloriar em Cristo Jesus nas coisas pertencentes a Deus.
18Pois não ousarei falar de coisa alguma, exceto daquelas que Cristo realizou por meu intermédio para a obediência dos gentios, por palavra e por obra,
19no poder de sinais e maravilhas, no poder do Espírito de Deus; de modo que, desde Jerusalém e arredores até o Ilírico, eu preguei plenamente as Boas Novas de Cristo;
20sim, tendo como meu objetivo pregar as Boas Novas, não onde Cristo já havia sido anunciado, para que eu não construísse sobre o fundamento de outro.
21Mas, como está escrito: “Verão aqueles a quem nenhuma notícia dele chegou. Aqueles que não ouviram, entenderão.”
22Por isso também fui impedido muitas vezes de ir até vocês,
23mas agora, não tendo mais nenhum lugar nestas regiões, e tendo por muitos anos um grande desejo de ir até vocês,
24quando eu viajar para a Espanha, irei até vocês. Pois espero vê-los em minha jornada, e ser ajudado por vocês em minha viagem para lá, se primeiro eu puder desfrutar da companhia de vocês por um tempo.
25Mas agora, digo eu, estou indo para Jerusalém, servindo aos santos.
26Pois foi do agrado da Macedônia e da Acaia fazer uma certa contribuição para os pobres dentre os santos que estão em Jerusalém.
27Sim, isso foi do agrado deles, e eles são seus devedores. Pois se os gentios se tornaram participantes das suas coisas espirituais, eles também devem servi-los nas coisas materiais.
28Portanto, quando eu tiver concluído isso, e tiver selado a eles este fruto, seguirei viagem para a Espanha, passando por vocês.
29Eu sei que, quando for até vocês, irei na plenitude da bênção das Boas Novas de Cristo.
30Ora, eu lhes rogo, irmãos, por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo e pelo amor do Espírito, que lutem juntamente comigo em suas orações a Deus por mim,
31para que eu seja liberto daqueles que são desobedientes na Judeia, e que o meu serviço para com Jerusalém seja aceitável aos santos,
32para que eu possa ir até vocês com alegria, pela vontade de Deus, e juntamente com vocês, encontre descanso.
33Ora, que o Deus de paz esteja com todos vocês. Amém.

1ASÍ que, los que somos más firmes debemos sobrellevar las flaquezas de los flacos, y no agradarnos á nosotros mismos.
2Cada uno de nosotros agrade á su prójimo en bien, á edificación.
3Porque Cristo no se agradó á sí mismo; antes bien, como está escrito: Los vituperios de los que te vituperan, cayeron sobre mí.
4Porque las cosas que antes fueron escritas, para nuestra enseñanza fueron escritas; para que por la paciencia, y por la consolación de las Escrituras, tengamos esperanza.
5Mas el Dios de la paciencia y de la consolación os dé que entre vosotros seáis unánimes según Cristo Jesús;
6Para que concordes, á una boca glorifiquéis al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
7Por tanto, sobrellevaos los unos á los otros, como también Cristo nos sobrellevó, para gloria de Dios.
8Digo, pues, que Cristo Jesús fué hecho ministro de la circuncisión por la verdad de Dios, para confirmar las promesas hechas á los padres,
9Y para que los Gentiles glorifiquen á Dios por la misericordia; como está escrito: Por tanto yo te confesaré entre los Gentiles, y cantaré á tu nombre.
10Y otra vez dice: Alegraos, Gentiles, con su pueblo.
11Y otra vez: Alabad al Señor todos los Gentiles, y magnificadle, todos los pueblos.
12Y otra vez, dice Isaías: Estará la raíz de Jessé, y el que se levantará á regir los Gentiles: los Gentiles esperarán en él.
13Y el Dios de esperanza os llene de todo gozo y paz creyendo, para que abundéis en esperanza por la virtud del Espíritu Santo.
14Empero cierto estoy yo de vosotros, hermanos míos, que aun vosotros mismos estáis llenos de bondad, llenos de todo conocimiento, de tal manera que podáis amonestaros los unos á los otros.
15Mas os he escrito, hermanos, en parte resueltamente, como amonestándoos por la gracia que de Dios me es dada,
16Para ser ministro de Jesucristo á los Gentiles, ministrando el evangelio de Dios, para que la ofrenda de los Gentiles sea agradable, santificada por el Espíritu Santo.
17Tengo, pues, de qué gloriarme en Cristo Jesús en lo que mira á Dios.
18Porque no osaría hablar alguna cosa que Cristo no haya hecho por mí para la obediencia de los Gentiles, con la palabra y con las obras,
19Con potencia de milagros y prodigios, en virtud del Espíritu de Dios: de manera que desde Jerusalem, y por los alrededores hasta Ilírico, he llenado todo del evangelio de Cristo.
20Y de esta manera me esforcé á predicar el evangelio, no donde antes Cristo fuese nombrado, por no edificar sobre ajeno fundamento:
21Sino, como está escrito: A los que no fué anunciado de él, verán: y los que no oyeron, entenderán.
22Por lo cual aun he sido impedido muchas veces de venir á vosotros.
23Mas ahora no teniendo más lugar en estas regiones, y deseando ir á vosotros muchos años há,
24Cuando partiere para España, iré á vosotros; porque espero que pasando os veré, y que seré llevado de vosotros allá, si empero antes hubiere gozado de vosotros.
25Mas ahora parto para Jerusalem á ministrar á los santos.
26Porque Macedonia y Acaya tuvieron por bien hacer una colecta para los pobres de los santos que están en Jerusalem.
27Porque les pareció bueno, y son deudores á ellos: porque si los Gentiles han sido hechos participantes de sus bienes espirituales, deben también ellos servirles en los carnales.
28Así que, cuando hubiere concluído esto, y les hubiere consignado este fruto, pasaré por vosotros á España.
29Y sé que cuando llegue á vosotros, llegaré con abundancia de la bendición del evangelio de Cristo.
30Ruégoos empero, hermanos, por el Señor nuestro Jesucristo, y por la caridad del Espíritu, que me ayudéis con oraciones por mí á Dios,
31Que sea librado de los rebeldes que están en Judea, y que la ofrenda de mi servicio á los santos en Jerusalem sea acepta;
32Para que con gozo llegue á vosotros por la voluntad de Dios, y que sea recreado juntamente con vosotros.
33Y el Dios de paz sea con todos vosotros. Amén.

1We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
2Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
3For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
4For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
5Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
6That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
8Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
9And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
10And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
11And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
12And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
13Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
14And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
15Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
16That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
17I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.
18For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,
19Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
20Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:
21But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
22For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.
23But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you;
24Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.
25But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.
26For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
27It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.
28When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.
29And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
30Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
31That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
32That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
33Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

20yes, making it my aim to preach the Good News, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build on another’s foundation.
21But, as it is written, “They will see, to whom no news of him came. They who haven’t heard will understand.”
22Therefore also I was hindered these many times from coming to you,
23but now, no longer having any place in these regions, and having these many years a longing to come to you,
24whenever I travel to Spain, I will come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may enjoy your company for a while.
25But now, I say, I am going to Jerusalem, serving the saints.
26For it has been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are at Jerusalem.
27Yes, it has been their good pleasure, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it to them also to serve them in material things.
28When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by way of you to Spain.
29I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of the Good News of Christ.
30Now I beg you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,
31that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints,
32that I may come to you in joy through the will of God, and together with you, find rest.
