Los que estamos plenamente convencidos de lo que hacemos, en vez de hacer sólo lo que queremos, debemos ayudar a quienes son débiles.
ASÍ que, los que somos más firmes debemos sobrellevar las flaquezas de los flacos, y no agradarnos á nosotros mismos.
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Cada uno debe agradar a su prójimo, y hacer cuanto contribuya al bien y a la edificación de su fe.

Ni siquiera Cristo trató de complacerse. Como está escrito: «Los insultos de quienes te ofendían cayeron sobre mí».

For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
For even Christ didn’t please himself. But, as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.”
De hecho, todo lo que fue escrito hace tiempo se escribió para enseñarnos, a fin de que, con el consuelo y la constancia que las Escrituras nos dan, mantengamos la esperanza.
Porque las cosas que antes fueron escritas, para nuestra enseñanza fueron escritas; para que por la paciencia, y por la consolación de las Escrituras, tengamos esperanza.
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through perseverance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
¡Que Dios, que da aliento y perseverancia, les ayude a vivir juntos en armonía, tal como Cristo nos dio el ejemplo!
Mas el Dios de la paciencia y de la consolación os dé que entre vosotros seáis unánimes según Cristo Jesús;
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

¡Y que podamos así, juntos y a una voz, glorificar a Dios, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo!
Para que concordes, á una boca glorifiquéis al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Así que, para gloria de Dios, trátense en la iglesia con el mismo afecto con que Cristo los ha recibido.

Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

Recuerden que Jesucristo vino a demostrar que Dios es fiel a las promesas dadas a los patriarcas, y por eso les sirvió a los judíos.
Digo, pues, que Cristo Jesús fué hecho ministro de la circuncisión por la verdad de Dios, para confirmar las promesas hechas á los padres,
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

Recuerden que él vino también para que los gentiles glorifiquen a Dios por sus mercedes hacia ellos. Así está escrito: «Te alabaré entre las naciones, cantaré himnos a tu nombre».
Y para que los Gentiles glorifiquen á Dios por la misericordia; como está escrito: Por tanto yo te confesaré entre los Gentiles, y cantaré á tu nombre.
And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

Y en otro lugar exclama: «Naciones, alégrense juntamente con el pueblo de Dios».
Y otra vez dice: Alegraos, Gentiles, con su pueblo.
And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
Again he says, “Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”
Y además: «Alaben al Señor, todas las naciones; todos los pueblos canten alabanzas».

And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
Again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Let all the peoples praise him.”
Y el profeta Isaías añade: «Habrá un heredero en la familia de Isaí y reinará sobre las naciones; en él depositarán los pueblos su esperanza».
Y otra vez, dice Isaías: Estará la raíz de Jessé, y el que se levantará á regir los Gentiles: los Gentiles esperarán en él.
And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
Again, Isaiah says, “There will be the root of Jesse, he who arises to rule over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles will hope.”
Hermanos míos, mi deseo es que el Dios que les concedió esperanza los inunde siempre de felicidad y paz al creer en él. Y le pido a Dios que los haga rebosar de esperanza por el poder del Espíritu Santo.
Y el Dios de esperanza os llene de todo gozo y paz creyendo, para que abundéis en esperanza por la virtud del Espíritu Santo.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Sé que ustedes son sabios y bondadosos, hermanos míos, y que están capacitados para enseñarse unos a otros.
Empero cierto estoy yo de vosotros, hermanos míos, que aun vosotros mismos estáis llenos de bondad, llenos de todo conocimiento, de tal manera que podáis amonestaros los unos á los otros.
And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

Sin embargo, he sido bien franco sobre algunos asuntos, a manera de recordatorio. Me he atrevido a hacerlo, porque Dios me concedió su bondad

Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,

para ser servidor de Cristo para bien de los gentiles. Mi deber sacerdotal es llevarles el evangelio de Dios, a fin de presentar a los gentiles ante Dios como una ofrenda que a él le agrada, porque el Espíritu Santo la ha purificado.
Para ser ministro de Jesucristo á los Gentiles, ministrando el evangelio de Dios, para que la ofrenda de los Gentiles sea agradable, santificada por el Espíritu Santo.
That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

Por eso me siento orgulloso, en Cristo Jesús, de mi servicio a Dios.
Tengo, pues, de qué gloriarme en Cristo Jesús en lo que mira á Dios.
I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.

No me atrevería a hablar de otra cosa sino de lo que Cristo ha hecho por medio de mí para que los gentiles obedezcan a Dios. Lo he hecho con mis palabras y con el ejemplo de mi vida.
Porque no osaría hablar alguna cosa que Cristo no haya hecho por mí para la obediencia de los Gentiles, con la palabra y con las obras,
For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,
For I will not dare to speak of any things except those which Christ worked through me for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,
También por medio de los milagros y señales poderosas que he realizado mediante el poder del Espíritu de Dios. He estado predicando el evangelio de Cristo por todas partes, desde Jerusalén hasta Iliria.
Con potencia de milagros y prodigios, en virtud del Espíritu de Dios: de manera que desde Jerusalem, y por los alrededores hasta Ilírico, he llenado todo del evangelio de Cristo.
Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of God’s Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and around as far as to Illyricum, I have fully preached the Good News of Christ;
Siempre ha sido mi propósito predicar, no donde ya otros lo hayan hecho, sino donde no conozcan a Cristo. No me gusta edificar sobre un fundamento que otros hayan puesto.
Y de esta manera me esforcé á predicar el evangelio, no donde antes Cristo fuese nombrado, por no edificar sobre ajeno fundamento:
Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:
yes, making it my aim to preach the Good News, not where Christ was already named, that I might not build on another’s foundation.
Más bien, he hecho lo que está escrito: «Quienes nunca antes habían escuchado de él lo verán; y entenderán los que no habían oído hablar de él».
Sino, como está escrito: A los que no fué anunciado de él, verán: y los que no oyeron, entenderán.
But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
But, as it is written, “They will see, to whom no news of him came. They who haven’t heard will understand.”
En realidad, por eso me he demorado tanto en ir a visitarlos.
Por lo cual aun he sido impedido muchas veces de venir á vosotros.
For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.
Therefore also I was hindered these many times from coming to you,
Pero al fin, tras años de espera, ya he terminado mi trabajo por estos lugares y puedo ir a verlos.
Mas ahora no teniendo más lugar en estas regiones, y deseando ir á vosotros muchos años há,
But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you;
but now, no longer having any place in these regions, and having these many years a longing to come to you,
Estoy pensando ir a España; cuando lo haga, pasaré por Roma y tendré el gusto de estar con ustedes algún tiempo, tras lo cual espero que me ayuden a continuar mi viaje.
Cuando partiere para España, iré á vosotros; porque espero que pasando os veré, y que seré llevado de vosotros allá, si empero antes hubiere gozado de vosotros.
Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.
whenever I travel to Spain, I will come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may enjoy your company for a while.
Pero antes tengo que ir a Jerusalén a llevar la ofrenda que se ha recogido para los hermanos.
Mas ahora parto para Jerusalem á ministrar á los santos.
But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.
But now, I say, I am going to Jerusalem, serving the saints.
Los cristianos de Macedonia y Acaya hicieron una colecta de dinero para los hermanos pobres de Jerusalén.
Porque Macedonia y Acaya tuvieron por bien hacer una colecta para los pobres de los santos que están en Jerusalem.
For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
For it has been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are at Jerusalem.
Ellos lo han hecho de buena voluntad, aunque en realidad estaban obligados a hacerlo, porque si los gentiles han disfrutado de las bendiciones espirituales que recibieron de los judíos, lo menos que pueden hacer en reciprocidad es ofrecerles ayuda material.
Porque les pareció bueno, y son deudores á ellos: porque si los Gentiles han sido hechos participantes de sus bienes espirituales, deben también ellos servirles en los carnales.
It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.
Yes, it has been their good pleasure, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it to them also to serve them in material things.
Tan pronto como les entregue el dinero, llegaré a verlos a ustedes de paso a España.
Así que, cuando hubiere concluído esto, y les hubiere consignado este fruto, pasaré por vosotros á España.
When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.
When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by way of you to Spain.
Estoy seguro de que cuando vaya, el Señor les enviará conmigo grandes bendiciones.
Y sé que cuando llegue á vosotros, llegaré con abundancia de la bendición del evangelio de Cristo.
And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of the Good News of Christ.
En nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, y por el amor que el Espíritu Santo ha puesto en ustedes, les ruego que se unan a mí en esta lucha y que oren a Dios por mi trabajo.
Ruégoos empero, hermanos, por el Señor nuestro Jesucristo, y por la caridad del Espíritu, que me ayudéis con oraciones por mí á Dios,
Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
Now I beg you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,
Pidan que el Señor me proteja, en Jerusalén, de los que no son cristianos. Oren para que los cristianos de allí acepten el dinero que les llevo.
Que sea librado de los rebeldes que están en Judea, y que la ofrenda de mi servicio á los santos en Jerusalem sea acepta;
That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints,
Entonces, Dios mediante, podré visitarlos a ustedes con el corazón alegre y descansar entre ustedes por un tiempo.
Para que con gozo llegue á vosotros por la voluntad de Dios, y que sea recreado juntamente con vosotros.
That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
that I may come to you in joy through the will of God, and together with you, find rest.
¡Que el Dios de paz esté con todos ustedes! Así sea.
Y el Dios de paz sea con todos vosotros. Amén.
