Ich empfehle euch aber unsere Schwester Phöbe, die im Dienst der Gemeinde zu Kenchreä steht:

I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:

nehmt sie im Herrn auf, wie es sich für Heilige geziemt, und steht ihr in allen Fällen, wo sie euer bedarf, hilfreich zur Seite; denn sie hat gleichfalls vielen Beistand geleistet, auch mir persönlich.

Que la recibáis en el Señor, como es digno á los santos, y que la ayudéis en cualquiera cosa en que os hubiere menester: porque ella ha ayudado á muchos, y á mí mismo.

That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.

that you receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and that you assist her in whatever matter she may need from you, for she herself also has been a helper of many, and of my own self.

Porque los tales no sirven al Señor nuestro Jesucristo, sino á sus vientres; y con suaves palabras y bendiciones engañan los corazones de los simples.

For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Die Kunde von eurem (Glaubens-) Gehorsam ist ja zu allen gedrungen. Deshalb habe ich meine Freude an euch, wünsche aber, daß ihr weise seid, wo es das Gute gilt, dagegen einfältig gegenüber dem Bösen.
