1Paulus, ein Knecht Jesu Christi, berufen zum Apostel, ausgesondert, zu predigen das Evangelium Gottes,
2welches er zuvor verheißen hat durch seine Propheten in der heiligen Schrift,
3von seinem Sohn, der geboren ist von dem Samen Davids nach dem Fleisch
4und kräftig erwiesen als ein Sohn Gottes nach dem Geist, der da heiligt, seit der Zeit, da er auferstanden ist von den Toten, Jesus Christus, unser HERR,
5durch welchen wir haben empfangen Gnade und Apostelamt, unter allen Heiden den Gehorsam des Glaubens aufzurichten unter seinem Namen,
6unter welchen ihr auch seid, die da berufen sind von Jesu Christo,
7allen, die zu Rom sind, den Liebsten Gottes und berufenen Heiligen: Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, unserm Vater, und dem HERRN Jesus Christus!
8Aufs erste danke ich meinem Gott durch Jesum Christum euer aller halben, daß man von eurem Glauben in aller Welt sagt.
9Denn Gott ist mein Zeuge, welchem ich diene in meinem Geist am Evangelium von seinem Sohn, daß ich ohne Unterlaß euer gedenke
10und allezeit in meinem Gebet flehe, ob sich's einmal zutragen wollte, daß ich zu euch käme durch Gottes Willen.
11Denn mich verlangt, euch zu sehen, auf daß ich euch mitteile etwas geistlicher Gabe, euch zu stärken;
12das ist, daß ich samt euch getröstet würde durch euren und meinen Glauben, den wir untereinander haben.
13Ich will euch aber nicht verhalten, liebe Brüder, daß ich mir oft habe vorgesetzt, zu euch zu kommen (bin aber verhindert bisher), daß ich auch unter euch Frucht schaffte gleichwie unter andern Heiden.
14Ich bin ein Schuldner der Griechen und der Ungriechen, der Weisen und der Unweisen.
15Darum, soviel an mir ist, bin ich geneigt, auch euch zu Rom das Evangelium zu predigen.
16Denn ich schäme mich des Evangeliums von Christo nicht; denn es ist eine Kraft Gottes, die da selig macht alle, die daran glauben, die Juden vornehmlich und auch die Griechen.
17Sintemal darin offenbart wird die Gerechtigkeit, die vor Gott gilt, welche kommt aus Glauben in Glauben; wie denn geschrieben steht: “Der Gerechte wird seines Glaubens leben.”
18Denn Gottes Zorn vom Himmel wird offenbart über alles gottlose Wesen und Ungerechtigkeit der Menschen, die die Wahrheit in Ungerechtigkeit aufhalten.
19Denn was man von Gott weiß, ist ihnen offenbar; denn Gott hat es ihnen offenbart,
20damit daß Gottes unsichtbares Wesen, das ist seine ewige Kraft und Gottheit, wird ersehen, so man des wahrnimmt, an den Werken, nämlich an der Schöpfung der Welt; also daß sie keine Entschuldigung haben,
21dieweil sie wußten, daß ein Gott ist, und haben ihn nicht gepriesen als einen Gott noch ihm gedankt, sondern sind in ihrem Dichten eitel geworden, und ihr unverständiges Herz ist verfinstert.
22Da sie sich für Weise hielten, sind sie zu Narren geworden
23und haben verwandelt die Herrlichkeit des unvergänglichen Gottes in ein Bild gleich dem vergänglichen Menschen und der Vögel und der vierfüßigen und der kriechenden Tiere.
24Darum hat sie auch Gott dahingegeben in ihrer Herzen Gelüste, in Unreinigkeit, zu schänden ihre eigenen Leiber an sich selbst,
25sie, die Gottes Wahrheit haben verwandelt in die Lüge und haben geehrt und gedient dem Geschöpfe mehr denn dem Schöpfer, der da gelobt ist in Ewigkeit. Amen.
26Darum hat sie auch Gott dahingegeben in schändliche Lüste: denn ihre Weiber haben verwandelt den natürlichen Brauch in den unnatürlichen;
27desgleichen auch die Männer haben verlassen den natürlichen Brauch des Weibes und sind aneinander erhitzt in ihren Lüsten und haben Mann mit Mann Schande getrieben und den Lohn ihres Irrtums (wie es denn sein sollte) an sich selbst empfangen.
28Und gleichwie sie nicht geachtet haben, daß sie Gott erkenneten, hat sie Gott auch dahingegeben in verkehrten Sinn, zu tun, was nicht taugt,
29voll alles Ungerechten, Hurerei, Schalkheit, Geizes, Bosheit, voll Neides, Mordes, Haders, List, giftig, Ohrenbläser,
30Verleumder, Gottesverächter, Frevler, hoffärtig, ruhmredig, Schädliche, den Eltern ungehorsam,
31Unvernünftige, Treulose, Lieblose, unversöhnlich, unbarmherzig.
32Sie wissen Gottes Gerechtigkeit, daß, die solches tun, des Todes würdig sind, und tun es nicht allein, sondern haben auch Gefallen an denen, die es tun.

1PABLO, siervo de Jesucristo, llamado á ser apóstol, apartado para el evangelio de Dios,
2Que él había antes prometido por sus profetas en las santas Escrituras,
3Acerca de su Hijo, (que fué hecho de la simiente de David según la carne;
4El cual fué declarado Hijo de Dios con potencia, según el espíritu de santidad, por la resurrección de los muertos), de Jesucristo Señor nuestro,
5Por el cual recibimos la gracia y el apostolado, para la obediencia de la fe en todas las naciones en su nombre,
6Entre las cuales sois también vosotros, llamados de Jesucristo:
7A todos los que estáis en Roma, amados de Dios, llamados santos: Gracia y paz tengáis de Dios nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.
8Primeramente, doy gracias á mi Dios por Jesucristo acerca de todos vosotros, de que vuestra fe es predicada en todo el mundo.
9Porque testigo me es Dios, al cual sirvo en mi espíritu en el evangelio de su Hijo, que sin cesar me acuerdo de vosotros siempre en mis oraciones,
10Rogando, si al fin algún tiempo haya de tener, por la voluntad de Dios, próspero viaje para ir á vosotros.
11Porque os deseo ver, para repartir con vosotros algún don espiritual, para confirmaros;
12Es á saber, para ser juntamente consolado con vosotros por la común fe vuestra y juntamente mía.
13Mas no quiero, hermanos, que ignoréis que muchas veces me he propuesto ir á vosotros (empero hasta ahora he sido estorbado), para tener también entre vosotros algún fruto, como entre los demás Gentiles.
14A Griegos y á bárbaros, á sabios y á no sabios soy deudor.
15Así que, cuanto á mí, presto estoy á anunciar el evangelio también á vosotros que estáis en Roma.
16Porque no me avergüenzo del evangelio: porque es potencia de Dios para salud á todo aquel que cree; al Judío primeramente y también al Griego.
17Porque en él la justicia de Dios se descubre de fe en fe; como está escrito: Mas el justo vivirá por la fe.
18Porque manifiesta es la ira de Dios del cielo contra toda impiedad é injusticia de los hombres, que detienen la verdad con injusticia:
19Porque lo que de Dios se conoce, á ellos es manifiesto; porque Dios se lo manifestó.
20Porque las cosas invisibles de él, su eterna potencia y divinidad, se echan de ver desde la creación del mundo, siendo entendidas por las cosas que son hechas; de modo que son inexcusables:
21Porque habiendo conocido á Dios, no le glorificaron como á Dios, ni dieron gracias; antes se desvanecieron en sus discursos, y el necio corazón de ellos fué entenebrecido.
22Diciéndose ser sabios, se hicieron fatuos,
23Y trocaron la gloria del Dios incorruptible en semejanza de imagen de hombre corruptible, y de aves, y de animales de cuatro pies, y de serpientes.
24Por lo cual también Dios los entregó á inmundicia, en las concupiscencias de sus corazones, de suerte que contaminaron sus cuerpos entre sí mismos:
25Los cuales mudaron la verdad de Dios en mentira, honrando y sirviendo á las criaturas antes que al Criador, el cual es bendito por los siglos. Amén.
26Por esto Dios los entregó á afectos vergonzosos; pues aun sus mujeres mudaron el natural uso en el uso que es contra naturaleza:
27Y del mismo modo también los hombres, dejando el uso natural de las mujeres, se encendieron en sus concupiscencias los unos con los otros, cometiendo cosas nefandas hombres con hombres, y recibiendo en sí mismos la recompensa que convino á su extravío.
28Y como á ellos no les pareció tener á Dios en su noticia, Dios los entregó á una mente depravada, para hacer lo que no conviene,
29Estando atestados de toda iniquidad, de fornicación, de malicia, de avaricia, de maldad; llenos de envidia, de homicidios, de contiendas, de engaños, de malignidades;
30Murmuradores, detractores, aborrecedores de Dios, injuriosos, soberbios, altivos, inventores de males, desobedientes á los padres,
31Necios, desleales, sin afecto natural, implacables, sin misericordia:
32Que, habiendo entendido el juicio de Dios que los que hacen tales cosas son dignos de muerte, no sólo las hacen, mas aun consienten á los que las hacen.

1Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
2(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
3Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
5By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
6Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:
7To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
8First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
9For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
10Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
11For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
12That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
13Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
14I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
15So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

4who was declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
5through whom we received grace and apostleship for obedience of faith among all the nations for his name’s sake;
6among whom you are also called to belong to Jesus Christ;
7to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
8First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.
9For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers,
10requesting, if by any means now at last I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you.

18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them.
20For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse.
21Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.
22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, four-footed animals, and creeping things.
24Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves;
25who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature.
27Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.
28Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
29being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers,
30backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;
32who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.
