Les escribe Pablo, sirviente de Jesucristo, llamado y enviado para predicar las buenas noticias de Dios.
PABLO, siervo de Jesucristo, llamado á ser apóstol, apartado para el evangelio de Dios,
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

Dios había prometido estas buenas noticias a través de los profetas del Antiguo Testamento.
Que él había antes prometido por sus profetas en las santas Escrituras,
(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

Son buenas noticias acerca de su Hijo, Jesucristo nuestro Señor. En su calidad de hombre era descendiente de la familia de David,

Por medio de Cristo, Dios derramó su gracia sobre nosotros y luego nos envió a todas las naciones, para que estas sean obedientes a la fe por amor a Cristo.
Por el cual recibimos la gracia y el apostolado, para la obediencia de la fe en todas las naciones en su nombre,
By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Ustedes, romanos, están incluidos entre esas naciones, y Dios los ha llamado a pertenecer a Jesucristo. ¡Que la gracia y la paz de Dios nuestro Padre y de nuestro Señor Jesucristo se derramen sobre ustedes!

A todos los que estáis en Roma, amados de Dios, llamados santos: Gracia y paz tengáis de Dios nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo.

Antes que nada les diré que casi todo el mundo sabe de su fe. Y ustedes no saben cuántas gracias le doy a Dios a través de Jesucristo por ello.
Primeramente, doy gracias á mi Dios por Jesucristo acerca de todos vosotros, de que vuestra fe es predicada en todo el mundo.
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

Dios sí sabe cuántas veces, de día y de noche, los llevo en oración ante aquel a quien sirvo con todas mis fuerzas dando a conocer a otros las buenas noticias del Hijo de Dios.
Porque testigo me es Dios, al cual sirvo en mi espíritu en el evangelio de su Hijo, que sin cesar me acuerdo de vosotros siempre en mis oraciones,
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

Una de mis repetidas oraciones es que Dios me permita ir a visitarlos a ustedes, si esa es su voluntad.
Rogando, si al fin algún tiempo haya de tener, por la voluntad de Dios, próspero viaje para ir á vosotros.
Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
requesting, if by any means now at last I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you.
Tengo muchos deseos de verlos para compartir con ustedes algún don espiritual que los ayude a crecer fuertes en el Señor.
Porque os deseo ver, para repartir con vosotros algún don espiritual, para confirmaros;
For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

Con esto quiero decirles que no sólo deseo comunicarles mi fe, sino también alentarme yo mismo con la de ustedes. Así nos seremos de mutua bendición.
Es á saber, para ser juntamente consolado con vosotros por la común fe vuestra y juntamente mía.
That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

Quiero que sepan, hermanos, que muchas veces he tratado de ir a visitarlos para trabajar entre ustedes y ver buenos resultados, como en las otras iglesias gentiles en que he estado; pero he encontrado obstáculos.
Mas no quiero, hermanos, que ignoréis que muchas veces me he propuesto ir á vosotros (empero hasta ahora he sido estorbado), para tener también entre vosotros algún fruto, como entre los demás Gentiles.
Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

Me siento en deuda con todos, con los griegos y con lo que no lo son, con el hombre culto y también con el inculto.
A Griegos y á bárbaros, á sabios y á no sabios soy deudor.
I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
I am debtor both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to the wise and to the foolish.
Así que, en lo que a mí respecta, estoy listo a ir a Roma para predicar también allí las buenas noticias de Dios.
Así que, cuanto á mí, presto estoy á anunciar el evangelio también á vosotros que estáis en Roma.
So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
So as much as is in me, I am eager to preach the Good News to you also who are in Rome.
Porque nunca me avergüenzo de las buenas noticias; ellas constituyen el poder de Dios para la salvación de todos los que creen. A los judíos se les dio el privilegio de ser los primeros en escuchar la predicación de este mensaje, pero ya el mundo entero está escuchándolo.
Porque no me avergüenzo del evangelio: porque es potencia de Dios para salud á todo aquel que cree; al Judío primeramente y también al Griego.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Las buenas noticias nos muestran la manera en que Dios nos acepta: por la fe, de principio a fin. Como está escrito en el Antiguo Testamento: «El que es justo, lo es por creer en Dios».
Porque en él la justicia de Dios se descubre de fe en fe; como está escrito: Mas el justo vivirá por la fe.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”
Pero Dios muestra desde el cielo su ira contra la injusticia y la maldad de la gente que, por su injusticia, impide que la verdad se manifieste.
Porque manifiesta es la ira de Dios del cielo contra toda impiedad é injusticia de los hombres, que detienen la verdad con injusticia:
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
Lo que se puede conocer de Dios, ellos lo conocen, pues Dios mismo se los ha revelado.
Porque lo que de Dios se conoce, á ellos es manifiesto; porque Dios se lo manifestó.
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them.
Desde que el mundo fue creado, la humanidad ha contemplado toda la creación que le muestra el eterno poder de Dios y el hecho de que él es verdaderamente Dios. Así, lo invisible de Dios se deja ver por medio de la creación visible, por lo que nadie podrá excusarse diciendo que no sabía si Dios existía o no.
Porque las cosas invisibles de él, su eterna potencia y divinidad, se echan de ver desde la creación del mundo, siendo entendidas por las cosas que son hechas; de modo que son inexcusables:
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse.
Sin embargo, aunque lo sabían muy bien, no quisieron ni adorar a Dios ni darle gracias. Al contrario, se pusieron a concebir ideas estúpidas y, en consecuencia, sus necios entendimientos se oscurecieron.
Porque habiendo conocido á Dios, no le glorificaron como á Dios, ni dieron gracias; antes se desvanecieron en sus discursos, y el necio corazón de ellos fué entenebrecido.
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Al creerse sabios, se volvieron aún más necios.
Diciéndose ser sabios, se hicieron fatuos,
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Luego, representaron la gloria del Dios inmortal con imágenes de pájaros, de animales que andan en cuatro patas, de reptiles y de simples humanos mortales.
Y trocaron la gloria del Dios incorruptible en semejanza de imagen de hombre corruptible, y de aves, y de animales de cuatro pies, y de serpientes.
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, four-footed animals, and creeping things.
Por eso Dios los dejó caer en toda clase de suciedades y los dejó hacer lo que les viniera en gana. Así, deshonraron sus propios cuerpos unos con otros.
Por lo cual también Dios los entregó á inmundicia, en las concupiscencias de sus corazones, de suerte que contaminaron sus cuerpos entre sí mismos:
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves;
Esto fue por cambiar la verdad de Dios y deliberadamente creer en la mentira; por adorar a las criaturas y no a Dios que las creó, el cual es bendito por todos los siglos.
Los cuales mudaron la verdad de Dios en mentira, honrando y sirviendo á las criaturas antes que al Criador, el cual es bendito por los siglos. Amén.
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Por eso Dios dejó que se desbordaran en sus pasiones vergonzosas. Llegaron hasta el punto de que sus mujeres actuaban en contra de la naturaleza y se entregaron al sexo unas con otras.
Por esto Dios los entregó á afectos vergonzosos; pues aun sus mujeres mudaron el natural uso en el uso que es contra naturaleza:
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature.
También los hombres, en vez de tener relaciones sexuales con mujeres, se encendieron en sus deseos entre ellos mismos y cometieron actos vergonzosos hombres con hombres. Y como consecuencia, recibieron en sus propios cuerpos el pago que bien se merecían.
Y del mismo modo también los hombres, dejando el uso natural de las mujeres, se encendieron en sus concupiscencias los unos con los otros, cometiendo cosas nefandas hombres con hombres, y recibiendo en sí mismos la recompensa que convino á su extravío.
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

A tal grado llegaron que, al no querer ni siquiera tener en cuenta a Dios, él los abandonó para que hicieran lo que sus mentes corruptas pudieran concebir.
Y como á ellos no les pareció tener á Dios en su noticia, Dios los entregó á una mente depravada, para hacer lo que no conviene,
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
Se entregaron a toda clase de injusticias e inmoralidades sexuales, de perversidad, avaricia y maldad. Están llenos de envidias, homicidios, contiendas, engaños y perversidades.
Estando atestados de toda iniquidad, de fornicación, de malicia, de avaricia, de maldad; llenos de envidia, de homicidios, de contiendas, de engaños, de malignidades;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers,
Hablan mal de los demás con mentiras; son enemigos de Dios, insolentes, engreídos, vanidosos; inventan nuevas formas de pecar y continuamente desobedecen a sus padres.
Murmuradores, detractores, aborrecedores de Dios, injuriosos, soberbios, altivos, inventores de males, desobedientes á los padres,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Fingen que no entienden y quebrantan sus promesas. No tienen afecto por nadie ni sienten compasión por los demás.
Necios, desleales, sin afecto natural, implacables, sin misericordia:
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;
Saben muy bien que el castigo que impone Dios por esos delitos es la muerte; y sin embargo, continúan cometiéndolos y se deleitan cuando otras personas los practican.
Que, habiendo entendido el juicio de Dios que los que hacen tales cosas son dignos de muerte, no sólo las hacen, mas aun consienten á los que las hacen.
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.
