Was †ist nun das Außergewöhnliche der Juden, oder: Was †ist der Nutzen der Beschneidung?

¿QUÉ, pues, tiene más el Judío? ¿ó qué aprovecha la circuncisión?

What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

Then what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision?

Viel in jeder Weise (Art, Hinsicht), denn in erster Linie (erstens, zunächst)†ist es so, dass ihnen das Wort Gottes anvertraut wurde.

Mucho en todas maneras. Lo primero ciertamente, que la palabra de Dios les ha sido confiada.

Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

Much in every way! Because first of all, they were entrusted with the revelations of God.

Was denn? Wenn einige ungläubig (untreu) waren, wird doch nicht ihr Unglaube (ihre Untreue) die Treue Gottes aufheben?

¿Pues qué si algunos de ellos han sido incrédulos? ¿la incredulidad de ellos habrá hecho vana la verdad de Dios?

For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?

For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?

Das ist nicht so! Aber es sei †so: Gott ist wahrhaftig, aber jeder Mensch ist ein Lügner, gleichwie geschrieben ist: Auf dass du gerechtgesprochen werden sollst in deinen Worten und siegen wirst, wenn du gerichtet wirst.

En ninguna manera; antes bien sea Dios verdadero, mas todo hombre mentiroso; como está escrito: Para que seas justificado en tus dichos, y venzas cuando de ti se juzgare.

God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written, “that you might be justified in your words, and might prevail when you come into judgment.”

Wenn aber unsere Ungerechtigkeit Gottes Gerechtigkeit erweist, was wollen (werden) wir sagen? Ist Gott, der den Zorn hervorbringt, etwa ungerecht? Ich rede gemäß einem Menschen.

Y si nuestra iniquidad encarece la justicia de Dios, ¿qué diremos? ¿Será injusto Dios que da castigo? (hablo como hombre.)

But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)

But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? I speak like men do.

Das ist nicht so! Wie wird denn sonst Gott die Welt richten?

En ninguna manera: de otra suerte ¿cómo juzgaría Dios el mundo?

God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

May it never be! For then how will God judge the world?

Wenn aber die Wahrheit Gottes durch mein Lügen (in meiner Unwahrhaftigkeit) hervorragt (überschießt, im Überfluss vorhanden ist) zu seiner Herrlichkeit, was werde auch ich noch wie ein Sünder gerichtet?

Empero si la verdad de Dios por mi mentira creció á gloria suya, ¿por qué aun así yo soy juzgado como pecador?

For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

For if the truth of God through my lie abounded to his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

Und †ist es etwa †so, wie wir gelästert werden und wie einige behaupten (sagen), dass wir sagen †würden 'Lasst uns das Schlechte machen, damit das Gute komme!' Deren Verurteilung (Gericht) ist gerecht.

¿Y por qué no decir (como somos blasfemados, y como algunos dicen que nosotros decimos): Hagamos males para que vengan bienes? la condenación de los cuales es justa.

And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

Why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), “Let’s do evil, that good may come?” Those who say so are justly condemned.

Was nun? Haben wir etwas voraus? Gar nichts! Denn wir haben vorher die Anklage erhoben, dass Juden und auch Griechen, †dass also alle unter †der Sünde sind.

¿Qué pues? ¿Somos mejores que ellos? En ninguna manera: porque ya hemos acusado á Judíos y á Gentiles, que todos están debajo de pecado.

What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.

gleichwie geschrieben ist: Es gibt keinen Gerechten, auch nicht einen;

Como está escrito: No hay justo, ni aun uno;

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

As it is written, “There is no one righteous; no, not one.

es gibt keinen Verständigen, es gibt keinen Gott Suchenden.

No hay quien entienda, no hay quien busque á Dios;

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.

Alle wendeten sich ab, zugleich (zusammen) wurden sie unbrauchbar. Es gibt keinen Gütiges Tuenden, es gibt nicht einmal einen.

Todos se apartaron, á una fueron hechos inútiles; no hay quien haga lo bueno, no hay ni aun uno:

They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

They have all turned away. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, no, not so much as one.”

Ein geöffnetes Grab †ist ihre Gurgel (Kehle, Schlund), durch ihre Zungen betrogen sie, Schlangengift †ist unter ihren Lippen;

Sepulcro abierto es su garganta; con sus lenguas tratan engañosamente; veneno de áspides está debajo de sus labios;

Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

“Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit.” “The poison of vipers is under their lips.”

deren Maul ist voll Verwünschung und Bitterkeit,

Cuya boca está llena de maledicencia y de amargura;

Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

“Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”

flink sind die Füße, †wenn es darum geht, Blut zu vergießen,

Sus pies son ligeros á derramar sangre;

Their feet are swift to shed blood:

“Their feet are swift to shed blood.

Vernichtung und Not ist auf ihren Wegen,

Quebrantamiento y desventura hay en sus caminos;

Destruction and misery are in their ways:

Destruction and misery are in their ways.

und einen Weg des Friedens kannten sie nicht.

Y camino de paz no conocieron:

And the way of peace have they not known:

The way of peace, they haven’t known.”

Gottesfurcht ist nicht vor ihren Augen.

No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos.

There is no fear of God before their eyes.

“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Wir wissen aber, dass wie viel das Gesetz †auch sagt, es denen unter dem Gesetz sagt, damit jedes Maul gestopft sei und die ganze Welt Gott schuldfähig (haftbar, schuldig, straffällig) werde;

Empero sabemos que todo lo que la ley dice, á los que están en la ley lo dice, para que toda boca se tape, y que todo el mundo se sujete á Dios:

Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

weil aus Werken des Gesetzes kein Fleisch gerecht gesprochen werden wird nach seinem Urteil, denn durch das Gesetz †gibt es Sündenerkenntnis.

Porque por las obras de la ley ninguna carne se justificará delante de él; porque por la ley es el conocimiento del pecado.

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

Nun ist aber ohne Gesetz †die Gerechtigkeit Gottes offenbart worden, bezeugt vom Gesetz und den Propheten,

Mas ahora, sin la ley, la justicia de Dios se ha manifestado, testificada por la ley y por los profetas:

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the law and the prophets;

eine Gerechtigkeit Gottes aber durch †den Glauben an Jesus Christus für alle Glaubenden, denn es gibt keinen Unterschied;

La justicia de Dios por la fe de Jesucristo, para todos los que creen en él; porque no hay diferencia;

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe. For there is no distinction,

denn alle sündigten und entbehren die Herrlichkeit Gottes;

Por cuanto todos pecaron, y están destituídos de la gloria de Dios;

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

unverdient gerecht gesprochen durch seine Gnade, durch den Freikauf (Loskaufung), die in Christus Jesus ist.

Siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia, por la redención que es en Cristo Jesús;

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Ihn hat Gott als Wiedergutmachung öffentlich hingestellt durch den Glauben an sein Blut zum Beweis seiner Gerechtigkeit wegen dem Erlassen der vorher geschehenen Sünden

Al cual Dios ha propuesto en propiciación por la fe en su sangre, para manifestación de su justicia, atento á haber pasado por alto, en su paciencia, los pecados pasados,

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

whom God sent to be an atoning sacrifice through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in God’s forbearance;

in der Geduld Gottes zum Beweis seiner Gerechtigkeit in der jetzigen Zeit, sodass er gerecht ist und und den aus Glauben an Jesus gerechtspricht.

Con la mira de manifestar su justicia en este tiempo: para que él sea el justo, y el que justifica al que es de la fe de Jesús.

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time, that he might himself be just and the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus.

Wo †ist nun das Rühmen? Es wurde ausgeschlossen. Durch welches Gesetz? †Durch das Gesetz der Werke? Nein, sondern durch †das Gesetz †des Glaubens.

¿Dónde pues está la jactancia? Es excluída. ¿Por cuál ley? ¿de las obras? No; mas por la ley de la fe.

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.

Denn wir rechnen †damit, dass ein Mensch durch Glauben gerechtgesprochen wird, ohne Gesetzeswerke.

Así que, concluímos ser el hombre justificado por fe sin las obras de la ley.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

We maintain therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Oder ist Gott allein †der Gott der Juden? Nicht auch †der Gott der Heiden? Ja, †er ist auch †Gott der Heiden.

¿Es Dios solamente Dios de los Judíos? ¿No es también Dios de los Gentiles? Cierto, también de los Gentiles.

Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

Or is God the God of Jews only? Isn’t he the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,

So gewiss Gott einer ist, wird er gerecht sprechen einen Beschnittenen aus Glauben und einen Unbeschnittenen durch den Glauben.

Porque uno es Dios, el cual justificará por la fe la circuncisión, y por medio de la fe la incircuncisión.

Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

since indeed there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

Heben wir nun †das Gesetz auf durch den Glauben? Das ist nicht so! Sondern wir errichten †das Gesetz.

¿Luego deshacemos la ley por la fe? En ninguna manera; antes establecemos la ley.

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Do we then nullify the law through faith? May it never be! No, we establish the law.
