Nun, diese Seligkeit, gehet sie über die Beschneidung oder über die Vorhaut? Wir müssen je sagen, daß Abraham sei sein Glaube zur Gerechtigkeit gerechnet.
¿QUÉ, pues, diremos que halló Abraham nuestro padre según la carne?
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh?
Wie ist er ihm denn zugerechnet, in der Beschneidung oder in der Vorhaut? Ohne Zweifel nicht in der Beschneidung, sondern in der Vorhaut.
Que si Abraham fué justificado por la obras, tiene de qué gloriarse; mas no para con Dios.
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not toward God.
Das Zeichen aber der Beschneidung empfing er zum Siegel der Gerechtigkeit des Glaubens, welchen er noch in der Vorhaut hatte, auf daß er würde ein Vater aller, die da glauben in der Vorhaut, daß denselbigen solches auch gerechnet werde zur Gerechtigkeit
Porque ¿qué dice la Escritura? Y creyó Abraham á Dios, y le fué atribuído á justicia.
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
und würde auch ein Vater der Beschneidung, nicht allein derer, die von der Beschneidung sind, sondern auch derer, die wandeln in den Fußtapfen des Glaubens, welcher war in der Vorhaut unsers Vaters Abraham.
Empero al que obra, no se le cuenta el salario por merced, sino por deuda.
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed.
Denn die Verheißung, daß er sollte sein der Welt Erbe, ist nicht geschehen Abraham oder seinem Samen durchs Gesetz, sondern durch die Gerechtigkeit des Glaubens.
Mas al que no obra, pero cree en aquél que justifica al impío, la fe le es contada por justicia.
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.
Denn wo die vom Gesetz Erben sind, so ist der Glaube nichts, und die Verheißung ist ab.
Como también David dice ser bienaventurado el hombre al cual Dios atribuye justicia sin obras,
Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:
Sintemal das Gesetz richtet nur Zorn an; denn wo das Gesetz nicht ist, da ist auch keine Übertretung.
Diciendo: Bienaventurados aquellos cuyas iniquidades son perdonadas, y cuyos pecados son cubiertos.
Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Derhalben muß die Gerechtigkeit durch den Glauben kommen, auf daß sie sei aus Gnaden, und die Verheißung fest bleibe allem Samen, nicht dem alleine, der unter dem Gesetz ist, sondern auch dem, der des Glaubens Abrahams ist, welcher ist unser aller Vater,

wie geschrieben stehet: Ich habe dich gesetzt zum Vater vieler Heiden vor Gott, dem du geglaubet hast, der da lebendig machet die Toten und rufet dem, das nicht ist, daß es sei.
¿Es pues esta bienaventuranza solamente en la circuncisión, ó también en la incircuncisión? porque decimos que á Abraham fué contada la fe por justicia.
Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
Is this blessing then pronounced only on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness.
Und er hat geglaubet auf Hoffnung, da nichts zu hoffen war, auf daß er würde ein Vater vieler Heiden, wie denn zu ihm gesagt ist: Also soll dein Same sein.
¿Cómo pues le fué contada? ¿en la circuncisión, ó en la incircuncisión? No en la circuncisión, sino en la incircuncisión.

Und er ward nicht schwach im Glauben, sah auch nicht an seinen eigenen Leib, welcher schon erstorben war, weil er fast hundertjährig war, auch nicht den erstorbenen Leib der Sara.
Y recibió la circuncisión por señal, por sello de la justicia de la fe que tuvo en la incircuncisión: para que fuese padre de todos los creyentes no circuncidados, para que también á ellos les sea contado por justicia;
And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

Denn er zweifelte nicht an der Verheißung Gottes durch Unglauben, sondern ward stark im Glauben und gab Gott die Ehre
Y padre de la circuncisión, no solamente á los que son de la circuncisión, mas también á los que siguen las pisadas de la fe que fué en nuestro padre Abraham antes de ser circuncidado.
And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
He is the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had in uncircumcision.
und wußte aufs allergewisseste, daß, was Gott verheißet, das kann er auch tun.
Porque no por la ley fué dada la promesa á Abraham ó á su simiente, que sería heredero del mundo, sino por la justicia de la fe.
For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
For the promise to Abraham and to his offspring that he would be heir of the world wasn’t through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
Darum ist's ihm auch zur Gerechtigkeit gerechnet.
Porque si los que son de la ley son los herederos, vana es la fe, y anulada es la promesa.
For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of no effect.
Das ist aber nicht geschrieben allein um seinetwillen, daß es ihm zugerechnet ist,
Porque la ley obra ira; porque donde no hay ley, tampoco hay transgresión.
Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
For the law produces wrath; for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.
sondern auch um unsertwillen, welchen es soll zugerechnet werden, so wir glauben an den, der unsern HERRN Jesum auferwecket hat von den Toten.
Por tanto es por la fe, para que sea por gracia; para que la promesa sea firme á toda simiente, no solamente al que es de la ley, mas también al que es de la fe de Abraham, el cual es padre de todos nosotros,
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the offspring, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
welcher ist um unserer Sünden willen dahingegeben und um unserer Gerechtigkeit willen auferwecket.
(Como está escrito: Que por padre de muchas gentes te he puesto) delante de Dios, al cual creyó; el cual da vida á los muertos, y llama las cosas que no son, como las que son.
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations.” This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were.
Nun wir denn sind gerecht worden durch den Glauben, so haben wir Frieden mit Gott durch unsern HERRN Jesum Christum,
El creyó en esperanza contra esperanza, para venir á ser padre de muchas gentes, conforme á lo que le había sido dicho: Así será tu simiente.
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
Against hope, Abraham in hope believed, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, “So will your offspring be.”
durch welchen wir auch einen Zugang haben im Glauben zu dieser Gnade darinnen wir stehen, und rühmen uns der Hoffnung der zukünftigen HERRLIchkeit die Gott geben soll.
Y no se enflaqueció en la fe, ni consideró su cuerpo ya muerto (siendo ya de casi cien años), ni la matriz muerta de Sara;
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:
Without being weakened in faith, he didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.
Nicht allein aber das, sondern wir rühmen uns auch der Trübsale dieweil wir wissen, daß Trübsal Geduld bringet
Tampoco en la promesa de Dios dudó con desconfianza: antes fué esforzado en fe, dando gloria á Dios,
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Yet, looking to the promise of God, he didn’t waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God,
Geduld aber bringet Erfahrung, Erfahrung aber bringet Hoffnung,
Plenamente convencido de que todo lo que había prometido, era también poderoso para hacerlo.
And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was also able to perform.
Hoffnung aber läßt nicht zuschanden werden. Denn die Liebe Gottes ist ausgegossen in unser Herz durch den Heiligen Geist, welcher uns gegeben ist.
Por lo cual también le fué atribuído á justicia.
And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

Denn auch Christus, da wir noch schwach waren nach der Zeit, ist für uns Gottlose gestorben.
Y no solamente por él fué escrito que le haya sido imputado;

Nun stirbt kaum jemand um des Rechtes willen; um etwas Gutes willen dürfte vielleicht jemand sterben.
Sino también por nosotros, á quienes será imputado, esto es, á los que creemos en el que levantó de los muertos á Jesús Señor nuestro,
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
but for our sake also, to whom it will be accounted, who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,
Darum preiset Gott seine Liebe gegen uns, daß Christus für uns gestorben ist, da wir noch Sünder waren.
El cual fué entregado por nuestros delitos, y resucitado para nuestra justificación.
Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.
