Ou bien ignorez-vous, frères (car je parle à des gens qui connaissent la loi), que la loi exerce son pouvoir sur l'homme aussi longtemps qu'il vit ?
¿IGNORÁIS, hermanos, (porque hablo con los que saben la ley) que la ley se enseñorea del hombre entre tanto que vive?
Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
Or don’t you know, brothers (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives?
Car la femme mariée est liée par la loi à son mari vivant ; mais si le mari meurt, elle est affranchie de la loi du mari.
Porque la mujer que está sujeta á marido, mientras el marido vive está obligada á la ley; mas muerto el marido, libre es de la ley del marido.
For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives, but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband.
Ainsi donc elle sera appelée adultère si, du vivant de son mari elle se donne à un autre homme ; mais si le mari meurt, elle est libérée de cette loi pour n'être point adultère si elle se donne à un autre homme.
Así que, viviendo el marido, se llamará adúltera si fuere de otro varón; mas si su marido muriere, es libre de la ley; de tal manera que no será adúltera si fuere de otro marido.
So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man.
C'est pourquoi, mes frères, vous aussi vous avez été, par le corps du Christ, mis à mort relativement à la loi, pour vous donner à un autre, à celui qui est ressuscité des morts, afin que nous portions des fruits pour Dieu.
Así también vosotros, hermanos míos, estáis muertos á la ley por el cuerpo de Cristo, para que seáis de otro, á saber, del que resucitó de los muertos, á fin de que fructifiquemos á Dios.
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might produce fruit to God.
Car lorsque nous étions dans la chair, les passions des péchés, lesquelles existent par la loi, agissaient dans nos membres afin de produire des fruits pour la mort.
Porque mientras estábamos en la carne, los afectos de los pecados que eran por la ley, obraban en nuestros miembros fructificando para muerte.
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law worked in our members to bring out fruit to death.
Mais maintenant nous avons été affranchis de la loi, étant morts à cette loi sous laquelle nous étions détenus ; en sorte que nous servions sous le régime nouveau de l'Esprit, et non sous le régime vieilli de la lettre.
Mas ahora estamos libres de la ley, habiendo muerto á aquella en la cual estábamos detenidos, para que sirvamos en novedad de espíritu, y no en vejez de letra.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”
Et le péché, saisissant l'occasion, a produit en moi, par le commandement, toutes sortes de convoitises ; car, sans loi, le péché est mort.
Mas el pecado, tomando ocasión, obró en mí por el mandamiento toda concupiscencia: porque sin la ley el pecado está muerto.
But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.
Or, moi, autrefois quand j'étais sans loi, je vivais ; mais le commandement étant venu, le péché a pris vie,
Así que, yo sin la ley vivía por algún tiempo: mas venido el mandamiento, el pecado revivió, y yo morí.
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

et moi, je suis mort. Et il s'est trouvé que ce commandement, qui devait me conduire à la vie, m'a conduit à la mort ;
Y hallé que el mandamiento, intimado para vida, para mí era mortal:
And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
The commandment which was for life, this I found to be for death;
car le péché, saisissant l'occasion, m'a séduit par le commandement et, par lui, m'a fait mourir.
Porque el pecado, tomando ocasión, me engañó por el mandamiento, y por él me mató.
For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.
De sorte que la loi sans doute est sainte, et le commandement est saint et juste et bon.
De manera que la ley á la verdad es santa, y el mandamiento santo, y justo, y bueno.
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, righteous, and good.
Ce qui est bon est-il donc devenu pour moi une cause de mort ? Non certes ! Mais c'est le péché, afin qu'il parût péché produisant pour moi la mort par ce qui est bon, afin que le péché devînt, par le commandement, excessivement pécheur.
¿Luego lo que es bueno, á mí me es hecho muerte? No; sino que el pecado, para mostrarse pecado, por lo bueno me obró la muerte, haciéndose pecado sobremanera pecante por el mandamiento.
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, was producing death in me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceedingly sinful.
Nous savons en effet que la loi est spirituelle ; mais moi je suis charnel, vendu et asservi au péché.
Porque sabemos que la ley es espiritual; mas yo soy carnal, vendido á sujeción del pecado.
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin.
En effet, je ne sais pas ce que j'accomplis, car je ne fais pas ce que je veux, mais je fais ce que je hais.
Porque lo que hago, no lo entiendo; ni lo que quiero, hago; antes lo que aborrezco, aquello hago.
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
For I don’t understand what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.
Or, si je fais ce que je ne veux pas, je conviens que la loi est bonne.
Y si lo que no quiero, esto hago, apruebo que la ley es buena.
If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good.
Et alors ce n'est plus moi qui accomplis cela, mais c'est le péché qui habite en moi.
De manera que ya no obro aquello, sino el pecado que mora en mí.
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
En effet, je sais qu'en moi, c'est-à-dire dans ma chair, n'habite pas le bien ; car vouloir le bien est à ma portée, mais l'accomplir, non.
Y yo sé que en mí (es á saber, en mi carne) no mora el bien: porque tengo el querer, mas efectuar el bien no lo alcanzo.
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.
Car je ne fais pas le bien que je veux ; mais je fais le mal que je ne veux pas.
Porque no hago el bien que quiero; mas el mal que no quiero, éste hago.
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice.
Or, si je fais ce que je ne veux pas, moi, ce n'est plus moi qui l'accomplis, mais c'est le péché qui habite en moi.
Y si hago lo que no quiero, ya no lo obro yo, sino el pecado que mora en mí.
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
Je trouve donc cette loi pour moi qui veux faire le bien, que le mal est à ma portée.
Así que, queriendo yo hacer el bien, hallo esta ley: Que el mal está en mí.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
I find then the law that, while I desire to do good, evil is present.
Car je prends plaisir à la loi de Dieu, selon l'homme intérieur ;
Porque según el hombre interior, me deleito en la ley de Dios:
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
For I delight in God’s law after the inward person,
mais je vois dans mes membres une autre loi, qui lutte contre la loi de mon entendement, et qui me rend captif de la loi du péché, qui est dans mes membres !
Mas veo otra ley en mis miembros, que se rebela contra la ley de mi espíritu, y que me lleva cautivo á la ley del pecado que está en mis miembros.
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.
Malheureux homme que je suis ! Qui me délivrera du corps de cette mort ?
¡Miserable hombre de mí! ¿quién me librará del cuerpo de esta muerte?
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?
Grâces soient rendues à Dieu par Jésus-Christ notre Seigneur !... Ainsi donc moi-même je suis esclave, par l'entendement, de la loi de Dieu, mais par la chair, de la loi du péché.
Gracias doy á Dios, por Jesucristo Señor nuestro. Así que, yo mismo con la mente sirvo á la ley de Dios, mas con la carne á la ley del pecado.
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
