Bible Darby
1Ignorez-vous, frères, (car je parle à gens qui entendent ce que c’est que [la] loi,) que la loi a autorité sur l’homme aussi longtemps qu’il vit ?
2Car la femme qui est soumise à un mari, est liée à son mari par [la] loi, tant qu’il vit ; mais si le mari meurt, elle est déliée de la loi du mari.
3Ainsi donc, le mari étant vivant, elle sera appelée adultère si elle est à un autre homme ; mais si le mari meurt, elle est libre de la loi, de sorte qu’elle n’est pas adultère en étant à un autre homme.
4C’est pourquoi, mes frères, vous aussi, vous avez été mis à mort à la loi par le corps du Christ, pour être à un autre, à celui qui est ressuscité d’entre les morts, afin que nous portions du fruit pour Dieu.
5Car, quand nous étions dans la chair, les passions des péchés, lesquelles sont par la loi, agissaient dans nos membres pour porter du fruit pour la mort ;
6mais maintenant nous avons été déliés de la loi, étant morts dans ce en quoi nous étions tenus, en sorte que nous servions en nouveauté d’esprit, et non pas en vieillesse de lettre.
7Que dirons-nous donc ? La loi est-elle péché ? – Qu’ainsi n’advienne ! Mais je n’aurais pas connu le péché, si ce n’avait été par [la] loi ; car je n’aurais pas eu conscience de la convoitise, si la loi n’avait dit : « Tu ne convoiteras point ».
8Mais le péché, ayant trouvé une occasion par le commandement, a produit en moi toutes les convoitises, car sans [la] loi [le] péché est mort.
9Or moi, étant autrefois sans loi, je vivais ; mais le commandement étant venu, le péché a repris vie, et moi je mourus ;
10et le commandement qui était pour la vie, a été trouvé lui-même pour moi pour la mort.
11Car le péché, ayant trouvé une occasion par le commandement, me séduisit, et par lui me tua.
12La loi donc est sainte, et le commandement est saint, et juste, et bon.
13Ce qui est bon est-il donc devenu pour moi [la] mort ? – Qu’ainsi n’advienne ! Mais le péché, afin qu’il paraisse péché, m’a causé la mort par ce qui est bon, afin que le péché devienne par le commandement excessivement pécheur.
14Car nous savons que la loi est spirituelle : mais moi je suis charnel, vendu au péché ;
15car ce que je fais, je ne le reconnais pas, car ce n’est pas ce que je veux, que je fais, mais ce que je hais, je le pratique.
16Or si c’est ce que je ne veux pas que je pratique, j’approuve la loi, [reconnaissant] qu’elle est bonne.
17Or maintenant, ce n’est plus moi qui fais cela, mais c’est le péché qui habite en moi.
18Car je sais qu’en moi, c’est-à-dire en ma chair, il n’habite point de bien ; car le vouloir est avec moi, mais accomplir le bien, [cela] je ne le trouve pas.
19Car le bien que je veux, je ne le pratique pas ; mais le mal que je ne veux pas, je le fais.
20Or si ce que je ne veux pas, moi, – je le pratique, ce n’est plus moi qui l’accomplis, mais c’est le péché qui habite en moi.
21Je trouve donc cette loi pour moi qui veux pratiquer le bien, que le mal est avec moi.
22Car je prends plaisir à la loi de Dieu selon l’homme intérieur ;
23mais je vois dans mes membres une autre loi qui combat contre la loi de mon entendement et qui me rend captif de la loi du péché qui existe dans mes membres.
24Misérable homme que je suis, qui me délivrera de ce corps de mort ?
25Je rends grâces à Dieu par Jésus Christ notre Seigneur. Ainsi donc moi-même, de l’entendement je sers la loi de Dieu ; mais de la chair, la loi du péché.

1¿IGNORÁIS, hermanos, (porque hablo con los que saben la ley) que la ley se enseñorea del hombre entre tanto que vive?
2Porque la mujer que está sujeta á marido, mientras el marido vive está obligada á la ley; mas muerto el marido, libre es de la ley del marido.
3Así que, viviendo el marido, se llamará adúltera si fuere de otro varón; mas si su marido muriere, es libre de la ley; de tal manera que no será adúltera si fuere de otro marido.
4Así también vosotros, hermanos míos, estáis muertos á la ley por el cuerpo de Cristo, para que seáis de otro, á saber, del que resucitó de los muertos, á fin de que fructifiquemos á Dios.
5Porque mientras estábamos en la carne, los afectos de los pecados que eran por la ley, obraban en nuestros miembros fructificando para muerte.
6Mas ahora estamos libres de la ley, habiendo muerto á aquella en la cual estábamos detenidos, para que sirvamos en novedad de espíritu, y no en vejez de letra.
7¿Qué pues diremos? ¿La ley es pecado? En ninguna manera. Empero yo no conocí el pecado sino por la ley: porque tampoco conociera la concupiscencia, si la ley no dijera: No codiciarás.
8Mas el pecado, tomando ocasión, obró en mí por el mandamiento toda concupiscencia: porque sin la ley el pecado está muerto.
9Así que, yo sin la ley vivía por algún tiempo: mas venido el mandamiento, el pecado revivió, y yo morí.
10Y hallé que el mandamiento, intimado para vida, para mí era mortal:
11Porque el pecado, tomando ocasión, me engañó por el mandamiento, y por él me mató.
12De manera que la ley á la verdad es santa, y el mandamiento santo, y justo, y bueno.
13¿Luego lo que es bueno, á mí me es hecho muerte? No; sino que el pecado, para mostrarse pecado, por lo bueno me obró la muerte, haciéndose pecado sobremanera pecante por el mandamiento.
14Porque sabemos que la ley es espiritual; mas yo soy carnal, vendido á sujeción del pecado.
15Porque lo que hago, no lo entiendo; ni lo que quiero, hago; antes lo que aborrezco, aquello hago.
16Y si lo que no quiero, esto hago, apruebo que la ley es buena.
17De manera que ya no obro aquello, sino el pecado que mora en mí.
18Y yo sé que en mí (es á saber, en mi carne) no mora el bien: porque tengo el querer, mas efectuar el bien no lo alcanzo.
19Porque no hago el bien que quiero; mas el mal que no quiero, éste hago.
20Y si hago lo que no quiero, ya no lo obro yo, sino el pecado que mora en mí.
21Así que, queriendo yo hacer el bien, hallo esta ley: Que el mal está en mí.
22Porque según el hombre interior, me deleito en la ley de Dios:
23Mas veo otra ley en mis miembros, que se rebela contra la ley de mi espíritu, y que me lleva cautivo á la ley del pecado que está en mis miembros.
24¡Miserable hombre de mí! ¿quién me librará del cuerpo de esta muerte?
25Gracias doy á Dios, por Jesucristo Señor nuestro. Así que, yo mismo con la mente sirvo á la ley de Dios, mas con la carne á la ley del pecado.
King James Version
1Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
2For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
4Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
5For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
6But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
7What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
8But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
9For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
12Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
14For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

1Or don’t you know, brothers (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives?
2For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives, but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband.
3So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man.
4Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might produce fruit to God.
5For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law worked in our members to bring out fruit to death.
6But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
7What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”
8But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.
9I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.
10The commandment which was for life, this I found to be for death;
11for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.
12Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, righteous, and good.
13Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, was producing death in me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceedingly sinful.
14For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin.
15For I don’t understand what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.
16But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good.
17So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
18For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.
19For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice.
20But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
21I find then the law that, while I desire to do good, evil is present.
22For I delight in God’s law after the inward person,
23but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.
24What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?
25I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, sin’s law.
