Romanos 7

Oder wißt ihr nicht, meine Brüder – ich rede ja doch zu gesetzeskundigen Leuten –, daß das Gesetz für den Menschen nur, solange er lebt, bindende Gewalt hat?

¿IGNORÁIS, hermanos, (porque hablo con los que saben la ley) que la ley se enseñorea del hombre entre tanto que vive?

Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

Or don’t you know, brothers (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives?

So ist z.B. eine verheiratete Frau gesetzlich an ihren Mann so lange gebunden, als er lebt; wenn aber der Mann stirbt, so ist sie frei von dem Gesetz, das sie an den Mann bindet.

Porque la mujer que está sujeta á marido, mientras el marido vive está obligada á la ley; mas muerto el marido, libre es de la ley del marido.

For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives, but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband.

Demnach wird sie zwar, solange ihr Mann lebt, allgemein als Ehebrecherin gelten, wenn sie sich einem andern Manne zu eigen gibt; stirbt aber ihr Mann, so ist sie frei vom Gesetz und keine Ehebrecherin, wenn sie sich einem andern Mann zu eigen gibt.

Así que, viviendo el marido, se llamará adúltera si fuere de otro varón; mas si su marido muriere, es libre de la ley; de tal manera que no será adúltera si fuere de otro marido.

So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man.

Mithin seid auch ihr, meine Brüder, dem Gesetz gegenüber getötet worden, und zwar durch (das Getötetwerden) des Leibes Christi, um hinfort einem anderen, nämlich dem, der von den Toten auferweckt worden ist, als Eigentum anzugehören, damit wir nunmehr für Gott Frucht brächten.

Así también vosotros, hermanos míos, estáis muertos á la ley por el cuerpo de Cristo, para que seáis de otro, á saber, del que resucitó de los muertos, á fin de que fructifiquemos á Dios.

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might produce fruit to God.

Denn solange wir im Fleische waren, wirkten sich die durch das Gesetz erregten sündhaften Leidenschaften in unsern Gliedern in der Weise aus, daß wir für den Tod Frucht brachten.

Porque mientras estábamos en la carne, los afectos de los pecados que eran por la ley, obraban en nuestros miembros fructificando para muerte.

For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law worked in our members to bring out fruit to death.

Jetzt aber sind wir vom Gesetz losgekommen, da wir dem, was uns in Banden hielt, gestorben sind, so daß wir nunmehr unsern Dienst im neuen Wesen des Geistes und nicht mehr im alten Wesen des Buchstabens (des Gesetzes) leisten.

Mas ahora estamos libres de la ley, habiendo muerto á aquella en la cual estábamos detenidos, para que sirvamos en novedad de espíritu, y no en vejez de letra.

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.

Was folgt nun daraus? Ist das Gesetz (selbst) Sünde? Nimmermehr! Aber ich hätte die Sünde nicht kennengelernt außer durch das Gesetz; denn ich hätte auch von der bösen Lust nichts gewußt, wenn das Gesetz nicht gesagt hätte: »Laß dich nicht gelüsten!«

¿Qué pues diremos? ¿La ley es pecado? En ninguna manera. Empero yo no conocí el pecado sino por la ley: porque tampoco conociera la concupiscencia, si la ley no dijera: No codiciarás.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”

Da hat die Sünde eine Angriffsgelegenheit gegen mich gewonnen und durch das Gebot jegliche böse Lust in mir zustande gebracht; denn ohne Gesetz ist die Sünde tot.

Mas el pecado, tomando ocasión, obró en mí por el mandamiento toda concupiscencia: porque sin la ley el pecado está muerto.

But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.

Ich lebte einst ohne das Gesetz; als dann aber das Gebot (des Gesetzes) kam, lebte die Sünde (in mir) auf,

Así que, yo sin la ley vivía por algún tiempo: mas venido el mandamiento, el pecado revivió, y yo morí.

For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.

für mich aber kam der Tod; und so erwies sich dasselbe Gebot, das doch zum Leben verhelfen soll, für mich als todbringend;

Y hallé que el mandamiento, intimado para vida, para mí era mortal:

And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

The commandment which was for life, this I found to be for death;

denn nachdem die Sünde eine Angriffsgelegenheit gegen mich gewonnen hatte, betrog sie mich durch das Gebot und brachte mir durch dieses den Tod.

Porque el pecado, tomando ocasión, me engañó por el mandamiento, y por él me mató.

For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.

Demnach ist das Gesetz (an sich) heilig und ebenso das Gebot heilig, gerecht und gut.

De manera que la ley á la verdad es santa, y el mandamiento santo, y justo, y bueno.

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, righteous, and good.

So hat also etwas Gutes mir den Tod gebracht? O nein, das hat vielmehr die Sünde getan: sie sollte als Sünde zutage treten, indem sie mir durch das Gute den Tod brachte; sie sollte sich eben durch das Gebot als über alle Maßen sündig erweisen.

¿Luego lo que es bueno, á mí me es hecho muerte? No; sino que el pecado, para mostrarse pecado, por lo bueno me obró la muerte, haciéndose pecado sobremanera pecante por el mandamiento.

Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, was producing death in me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceedingly sinful.

Wir wissen ja, daß das Gesetz geistlich ist; ich aber bin von fleischlicher Art (und dadurch) unter die (Gewalt der) Sünde verkauft.

Porque sabemos que la ley es espiritual; mas yo soy carnal, vendido á sujeción del pecado.

For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin.

Ja, mein ganzes Tun ist mir unbegreiflich; denn ich vollbringe nicht das, was ich will, sondern tue das, was ich hasse.

Porque lo que hago, no lo entiendo; ni lo que quiero, hago; antes lo que aborrezco, aquello hago.

For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

For I don’t understand what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.

Wenn ich aber das tue, was ich nicht will, so erkenne ich durch die innere Zustimmung zum Gesetz an, daß dieses gut sei.

Y si lo que no quiero, esto hago, apruebo que la ley es buena.

If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good.

Jetzt aber bin nicht mehr ich der, welcher es vollbringt, sondern die in mir wohnende Sünde.

De manera que ya no obro aquello, sino el pecado que mora en mí.

Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.

Denn ich weiß ja: in mir, das heißt in meinem Fleische, wohnt nichts Gutes; denn der gute Wille ist bei mir wohl vorhanden, dagegen das Vollbringen des Guten nicht;

Y yo sé que en mí (es á saber, en mi carne) no mora el bien: porque tengo el querer, mas efectuar el bien no lo alcanzo.

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.

denn ich tue nicht das Gute, das ich tun will, sondern vollbringe das Böse, das ich nicht tun will.

Porque no hago el bien que quiero; mas el mal que no quiero, éste hago.

For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice.

Wenn ich aber das tue, was ich nicht will, so bin nicht mehr ich es, der es vollbringt, sondern die in mir wohnende Sünde.

Y si hago lo que no quiero, ya no lo obro yo, sino el pecado que mora en mí.

Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.

Ich finde somit bei mir, der ich das Gute tun will, das Gesetz vor, daß bei mir das Böse zustande kommt.

Así que, queriendo yo hacer el bien, hallo esta ley: Que el mal está en mí.

I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

I find then the law that, while I desire to do good, evil is present.

Denn nach meinem inneren Menschen stimme ich dem göttlichen Gesetz freudig zu,

Porque según el hombre interior, me deleito en la ley de Dios:

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

For I delight in God’s law after the inward person,

nehme aber in meinen Gliedern ein andersartiges Gesetz wahr, das dem Gesetz meiner Vernunft widerstreitet und mich gefangennimmt unter das Gesetz der Sünde, das in meinen Gliedern wirkt.

Mas veo otra ley en mis miembros, que se rebela contra la ley de mi espíritu, y que me lleva cautivo á la ley del pecado que está en mis miembros.

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.

O ich unglückseliger Mensch! Wer wird mich aus diesem Todesleibe erlösen?

¡Miserable hombre de mí! ¿quién me librará del cuerpo de esta muerte?

O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?

Dank sei Gott; (es ist geschehen) durch Jesus Christus, unsern Herrn! Also ist es so: Auf mich selbst gestellt diene ich mit der Vernunft dem Gesetz Gottes, mit dem Fleisch dagegen dem Gesetz der Sünde.

Gracias doy á Dios, por Jesucristo Señor nuestro. Así que, yo mismo con la mente sirvo á la ley de Dios, mas con la carne á la ley del pecado.

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, sin’s law.
