1Also ist jetzt keine Verdammnis für die, welche in Christo Jesu sind.
2Denn das Gesetz des Geistes des Lebens in Christo Jesu hat mich freigemacht von dem Gesetz der Sünde und des Todes.
3Denn das dem Gesetz Unmögliche, weil es durch das Fleisch kraftlos war, tat Gott, indem er, seinen eigenen Sohn in Gleichgestalt des Fleisches der Sünde und für die Sünde sendend, die Sünde im Fleische verurteilte,
4auf daß das Recht des Gesetzes erfüllt würde in uns, die nicht nach dem Fleische, sondern nach dem Geiste wandeln.
5Denn die, welche nach dem Fleische sind, sinnen auf das, was des Fleisches ist; die aber, welche nach dem Geiste sind, auf das, was des Geistes ist.
6Denn die Gesinnung des Fleisches ist der Tod, die Gesinnung des Geistes aber Leben und Frieden;
7weil die Gesinnung des Fleisches Feindschaft ist gegen Gott, denn sie ist dem Gesetz Gottes nicht untertan, denn sie vermag es auch nicht.
8die aber, welche im Fleische sind, vermögen Gott nicht zu gefallen.
9Ihr aber seid nicht im Fleische, sondern im Geiste, wenn anders Gottes Geist in euch wohnt. Wenn aber jemand Christi Geist nicht hat, der ist nicht sein.
10Wenn aber Christus in euch ist, so ist der Leib zwar tot der Sünde wegen, der Geist aber Leben der Gerechtigkeit wegen.
11Wenn aber der Geist dessen, der Jesum aus den Toten auferweckt hat, in euch wohnt, so wird er, der Christum aus den Toten auferweckt hat, auch eure sterblichen Leiber lebendig machen wegen seines in euch wohnenden Geistes.
12So denn, Brüder, sind wir Schuldner, nicht dem Fleische, um nach dem Fleische zu leben,
13denn wenn ihr nach dem Fleische lebet, so werdet ihr sterben, wenn ihr aber durch den Geist die Handlungen des Leibes tötet, so werdet ihr leben.
14Denn so viele durch den Geist Gottes geleitet werden, diese sind Söhne Gottes.
15Denn ihr habt nicht einen Geist der Knechtschaft empfangen, wiederum zur Furcht, sondern einen Geist der Sohnschaft habt ihr empfangen, in welchem wir rufen:
16Abba, Vater! Der Geist selbst zeugt mit unserem Geiste, daß wir Kinder Gottes sind.
17Wenn aber Kinder, so auch Erben, Erben Gottes und Miterben Christi, wenn wir anders mitleiden, auf daß wir auch mitverherrlicht werden.
18Denn ich halte dafür, daß die Leiden der Jetztzeit nicht wert sind, verglichen zu werden mit der zukünftigen Herrlichkeit, die an uns geoffenbart werden soll.
19Denn das sehnsüchtige Harren der Schöpfung wartet auf die Offenbarung der Söhne Gottes.
20Denn die Schöpfung ist der Nichtigkeit unterworfen worden (nicht mit Willen, sondern um deswillen, der sie unterworfen hat),
21auf Hoffnung, daß auch selbst die Schöpfung freigemacht werden wird von der Knechtschaft des Verderbnisses zu der Freiheit der Herrlichkeit der Kinder Gottes.
22Denn wir wissen, daß die ganze Schöpfung zusammen seufzt und zusammen in Geburtswehen liegt bis jetzt.
23Nicht allein aber sie, sondern auch wir selbst, die wir die Erstlinge des Geistes haben, auch wir selbst seufzen in uns selbst, erwartend die Sohnschaft: die Erlösung unseres Leibes.
24Denn in Hoffnung sind wir errettet worden. Eine Hoffnung aber, die gesehen wird, ist keine Hoffnung; denn was einer sieht, was hofft er es auch?
25Wenn wir aber das hoffen, was wir nicht sehen, so warten wir mit Ausharren.
26Desgleichen aber nimmt auch der Geist sich unserer Schwachheit an; denn wir wissen nicht, was wir bitten sollen, wie sich's gebührt, aber der Geist selbst verwendet sich für uns in unaussprechlichen Seufzern.
27Der aber die Herzen erforscht, weiß, was der Sinn des Geistes ist, denn er verwendet sich für Heilige Gott gemäß.
28Wir wissen aber, daß denen, die Gott lieben, alle Dinge zum Guten mitwirken, denen, die nach Vorsatz berufen sind.
29Denn welche er zuvorerkannt hat, die hat er auch zuvorbestimmt, dem Bilde seines Sohnes gleichförmig zu sein, damit er der Erstgeborene sei unter vielen Brüdern.
30Welche er aber zuvorbestimmt hat, diese hat er auch berufen; und welche er berufen hat, diese hat er auch gerechtfertigt; welche er aber gerechtfertigt hat, diese hat er auch verherrlicht.
31Was sollen wir nun hierzu sagen? Wenn Gott für uns ist, wer wider uns?
32Er, der doch seines eigenen Sohnes nicht geschont, sondern ihn für uns alle hingegeben hat: wie wird er uns mit ihm nicht auch alles schenken?
33Wer wird wider Gottes Auserwählte Anklage erheben? Gott ist es, welcher rechtfertigt;
34wer ist, der verdamme? Christus ist es, der gestorben, ja noch mehr, der [auch] auferweckt, der auch zur Rechten Gottes ist, der sich auch für uns verwendet.
35Wer wird uns scheiden von der Liebe Christi? Drangsal oder Angst oder Verfolgung oder Hungersnot oder Blöße oder Gefahr oder Schwert?
36Wie geschrieben steht: “Um deinetwillen werden wir getötet den ganzen Tag; wie Schlachtschafe sind wir gerechnet worden”.
37Aber in diesem allen sind wir mehr als Überwinder durch den, der uns geliebt hat.
38Denn ich bin überzeugt, daß weder Tod noch Leben, weder Engel noch Fürstentümer, weder Gegenwärtiges noch Zukünftiges, noch Gewalten,
39weder Höhe noch Tiefe, noch irgend ein anderes Geschöpf uns zu scheiden vermögen wird von der Liebe Gottes, die in Christo Jesu ist, unserem Herrn.

1AHORA pues, ninguna condenación hay para los que están en Cristo Jesús, los que no andan conforme á la carne, mas conforme al espíritu.
2Porque la ley del Espíritu de vida en Cristo Jesús me ha librado de la ley del pecado y de la muerte.
3Porque lo que era imposible á la ley, por cuanto era débil por la carne, Dios enviando á su Hijo en semejanza de carne de pecado, y á causa del pecado, condenó al pecado en la carne;
4Para que la justicia de la ley fuese cumplida en nosotros, que no andamos conforme á la carne, mas conforme al espíritu.
5Porque los que viven conforme á la carne, de las cosas que son de la carne se ocupan; mas los que conforme al espíritu, de las cosas del espíritu.
6Porque la intención de la carne es muerte; mas la intención del espíritu, vida y paz:
7Por cuanto la intención de la carne es enemistad contra Dios; porque no se sujeta á la ley de Dios, ni tampoco puede.
8Así que, los que están en la carne no pueden agradar á Dios.
9Mas vosotros no estáis en la carne, sino en el espíritu, si es que el Espíritu de Dios mora en vosotros. Y si alguno no tiene el Espíritu de Cristo, el tal no es de él.
10Empero si Cristo está en vosotros, el cuerpo á la verdad está muerto á causa del pecado; mas el espíritu vive á causa de la justicia.
11Y si el Espíritu de aquel que levantó de los muertos á Jesús mora en vosotros, el que levantó á Cristo Jesús de los muertos, vivificará también vuestros cuerpos mortales por su Espíritu que mora en vosotros.
12Así que, hermanos, deudores somos, no á la carne, para que vivamos conforme á la carne:
13Porque si viviereis conforme á la carne, moriréis; mas si por el espíritu mortificáis las obras de la carne, viviréis.
14Porque todos los que son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios, los tales son hijos de Dios.
15Porque no habéis recibido el espíritu de servidumbre para estar otra vez en temor; mas habéis recibido el espíritu de adopción, por el cual clamamos, Abba, Padre.
16Porque el mismo Espíritu da testimonio á nuestro espíritu que somos hijos de Dios.
17Y si hijos, también herederos; herederos de Dios, y coherederos de Cristo; si empero padecemos juntamente con él, para que juntamente con él seamos glorificados.
18Porque tengo por cierto que lo que en este tiempo se padece, no es de comparar con la gloria venidera que en nosotros ha de ser manifestada.
19Porque el continuo anhelar de las criaturas espera la manifestación de los hijos de Dios.
20Porque las criaturas sujetas fueron á vanidad, no de grado, mas por causa del que las sujetó con esperanza,
21Que también las mismas criaturas serán libradas de la servidumbre de corrupción en la libertad gloriosa de los hijos de Dios.
22Porque sabemos que todas las criaturas gimen á una, y á una están de parto hasta ahora.
23Y no sólo ellas, mas también nosotros mismos, que tenemos las primicias del Espíritu, nosotros también gemimos dentro de nosotros mismos, esperando la adopción, es á saber, la redención de nuestro cuerpo.
24Porque en esperanza somos salvos; mas la esperanza que se ve, no es esperanza; porque lo que alguno ve, ¿á qué esperarlo?
25Empero si lo que no vemos esperamos, por paciencia esperamos.
26Y asimismo también el Espíritu ayuda nuestra flaqueza: porque qué hemos de pedir como conviene, no lo sabemos; sino que el mismo Espíritu pide por nosotros con gemidos indecibles.
27Mas el que escudriña los corazones, sabe cuál es el intento del Espíritu, porque conforme á la voluntad de Dios, demanda por los santos.
28Y sabemos que á los que á Dios aman, todas las cosas les ayudan á bien, es á saber, á los que conforme al propósito son llamados.
29Porque á los que antes conoció, también predestinó para que fuesen hechos conformes á la imagen de su Hijo, para que él sea el primogénito entre muchos hermanos;
30Y á los que predestinó, á éstos también llamó; y á los que llamó, á éstos también justificó; y á los que justificó, á éstos también glorificó.
31¿Pues qué diremos á esto? Si Dios por nosotros, ¿quién contra nosotros?
32El que aun á su propio Hijo no perdonó, antes le entregó por todos nosotros, ¿cómo no nos dará también con él todas las cosas?
33¿Quién acusará á los escogidos de Dios? Dios es el que justifica.
34¿Quién es el que condenará? Cristo es el que murió; más aún, el que también resucitó, quien además está á la diestra de Dios, el que también intercede por nosotros.
35¿Quién nos apartará del amor de Cristo? tribulación? ó angustia? ó persecución? ó hambre? ó desnudez? ó peligro? ó cuchillo?
36Como está escrito: Por causa de ti somos muertos todo el tiempo: somos estimados como ovejas de matadero.
37Antes, en todas estas cosas hacemos más que vencer por medio de aquel que nos amó.
38Por lo cual estoy cierto que ni la muerte, ni la vida, ni ángeles, ni principados, ni potestades, ni lo presente, ni lo por venir,
39Ni lo alto, ni lo bajo, ni ninguna criatura nos podrá apartar del amor de Dios, que es en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro.

1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
World English Bible
1There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
3For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
4that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
5For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;
7because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God, for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be.
8Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.
9But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.
10If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
