O simples fato de terem vindo da descendência de Abraão não os faz, na verdade, filhos de Abraão. As Escrituras dizem que as promessas se destinam somente ao filho de Abraão, Isaque, e aos descendentes de Isaque.

Ni por ser simiente de Abraham, son todos hijos; mas: En Isaac te será llamada simiente.

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
