Qui sont Israëlites, desquels sont l’adoption, la gloire, les alliances, l’ordonnance de la Loi, le service divin, et les promesses.
Que son israelitas, de los cuales es la adopción, y la gloria, y el pacto, y la data de la ley, y el culto, y las promesas;
Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

Toutefois il ne se peut pas faire que la parole de Dieu soit anéantie ; mais tous ceux qui sont d’Israël, ne sont pas pourtant Israël.
No empero que la palabra de Dios haya faltado: porque no todos los que son de Israel son Israelitas;
Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
But it is not as though the word of God has come to nothing. For they are not all Israel that are of Israel.
Car pour être de la semence d’Abraham ils ne sont pas tous ses enfants ; mais, c’est en Isaac qu’on doit considérer sa postérité.
Ni por ser simiente de Abraham, son todos hijos; mas: En Isaac te será llamada simiente.
Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Neither, because they are Abraham’s offspring, are they all children. But, “your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac.”
c’est-à-dire, que ce ne sont pas ceux qui sont enfants de la chair, qui sont enfants de Dieu ; mais que ce sont les enfants de la promesse, qui sont réputés pour semence.
Quiere decir: No los que son hijos de la carne, éstos son los hijos de Dios; mas los que son hijos de la promesa, son contados en la generación.
That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as heirs.
Car voici la parole de la promesse : je viendrai en cette même saison, et Sara aura un fils.
Porque la palabra de la promesa es esta: Como en este tiempo vendré, y tendrá Sara un hijo.
For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.
For this is a word of promise: “At the appointed time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.”
Et non seulement cela ; mais aussi Rebecca, lorsqu’elle conçut d’un, savoir de notre père Isaac.
Y no sólo esto; mas también Rebeca concibiendo de uno, de Isaac nuestro padre,
And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;

Car avant que les enfants fussent nés, et qu’ils eussent fait ni bien ni mal, afin que le dessein arrêté selon l’élection de Dieu demeurât, non point par les oeuvres, mais par celui qui appelle ;
(Porque no siendo aún nacidos, ni habiendo hecho aún ni bien ni mal, para que el propósito de Dios conforme á la elección, no por las obras sino por el que llama, permaneciese;)
(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

Il lui fut dit : le plus grand sera asservi au moindre ;
Le fué dicho que el mayor serviría al menor.
It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

Ainsi qu’il est écrit : j’ai aimé Jacob, et j’ai haï Esaü.
Como está escrito: A Jacob amé, mas á Esaú aborrecí.
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Que dirons-nous donc : y a-t-il de l’iniquité en Dieu ? à Dieu ne plaise !
¿Pues qué diremos? ¿Que hay injusticia en Dios? En ninguna manera.
What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? May it never be!
Car il dit à Moïse : j’aurai compassion de celui de qui j’aurai compassion ; et je ferai miséricorde à celui à qui je ferai miséricorde.
Mas á Moisés dice: Tendré misericordia del que tendré misericordia, y me compadeceré del que me compadeceré.
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
For he said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
Ce n’est donc point du voulant, ni du courant : mais de Dieu qui fait miséricorde.
Así que no es del que quiere, ni del que corre, sino de Dios que tiene misericordia.
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Car l’Ecriture dit à Pharaon : je t’ai fait subsister dans le but de démontrer en toi ma puissance, et afin que mon Nom soit publié dans toute la terre.
Porque la Escritura dice de Faraón: Que para esto mismo te he levantado, para mostrar en ti mi potencia, y que mi nombre sea anunciado por toda la tierra.
For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I caused you to be raised up, that I might show in you my power, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
Il a donc compassion de celui qu’il veut, et il endurcit celui qu’il veut.
De manera que del que quiere tiene misericordia; y al que quiere, endurece.
Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
So then, he has mercy on whom he desires, and he hardens whom he desires.
Or tu me diras : pourquoi se plaint-il encore ? car qui est celui qui peut résister à sa volonté ?
Me dirás pues: ¿Por qué, pues, se enoja? porque ¿quién resistirá á su voluntad?
Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
You will say then to me, “Why does he still find fault? For who withstands his will?”
Mais plutôt, ô homme, qui es-tu, toi qui contestes contre Dieu ? la chose formée dira-t-elle à celui qui l’a formée : pourquoi m’as-tu ainsi faite ?
Mas antes, oh hombre, ¿quién eres tú, para que alterques con Dios? Dirá el vaso de barro al que le labró: ¿Por qué me has hecho tal?
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?”
Le potier de terre n’a-t-il pas la puissance de faire d’une même masse de terre un vaisseau à honneur, et un autre à déshonneur ?
¿O no tiene potestad el alfarero para hacer de la misma masa un vaso para honra, y otro para vergüenza?
Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Or hasn’t the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor?
Et qu’est-ce, si Dieu en voulant montrer sa colère, et donner à connaître sa puissance, a toléré avec une grande patience les vaisseaux de colère, préparés pour la perdition ?
¿Y qué, si Dios, queriendo mostrar la ira y hacer notoria su potencia, soportó con mucha mansedumbre los vasos de ira preparados para muerte,
What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
What if God, willing to show his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,
Et afin de donner à connaître les richesses de sa gloire dans les vaisseaux de miséricorde, qu’il a préparés pour la gloire ;
Y para hacer notorias las riquezas de su gloria, mostrólas para con los vasos de misericordia que él ha preparado para gloria;
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory—
Et qu’il a appelés, c’est à savoir nous, non seulement d’entre les Juifs, mais aussi d’entre les Gentils.
Los cuales también ha llamado, es á saber, á nosotros, no sólo de los Judíos, mas también de los Gentiles?
Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

Et il arrivera, qu’au lieu où il leur a été dit : vous n’êtes point mon peuple, là ils seront appelés les enfants du Dieu vivant.
Y será, que en el lugar donde les fué dicho: Vosotros no sois pueblo mío: allí serán llamados hijos del Dios viviente.
And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
“It will be that in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’”
Aussi Esaïe s’écrie au sujet d’Israël : quand le nombre des enfants d’Israël serait comme le sable de la mer, il n’y en aura qu’un petit reste de sauvé.
También Isaías clama tocante á Israel: Si fuere el número de los hijos de Israel como la arena de la mar, las reliquias serán salvas:
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
Isaiah cries concerning Israel, “If the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant who will be saved;
Car le Seigneur consomme et abrège l’affaire en justice : il fera, dis-je, une affaire abrégée sur la terre.
Porque palabra consumadora y abreviadora en justicia, porque palabra abreviada, hará el Señor sobre la tierra.
For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
for he will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.”
Et comme Esaïe avait dit auparavant : si le Seigneur des armées ne nous eût laissé quelque semence, nous eussions été faits comme Sodome, et eussions été semblables à Gomorrhe.
Y como antes dijo Isaías: Si el Señor de los ejércitos no nos hubiera dejado simiente, como Sodoma habríamos venido á ser, y á Gomorra fuéramos semejantes.
And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
As Isaiah has said before, “Unless the Lord of Armies had left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and would have been made like Gomorrah.”
Que dirons-nous donc ? que les Gentils qui ne cherchaient point la justice, ont atteint la justice, la justice, dis-je, qui est par la foi.
¿Pues qué diremos? Que los Gentiles que no seguían justicia, han alcanzado la justicia, es á saber, la justicia que es por la fe;
What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who didn’t follow after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith;
Mais Israël cherchant la Loi de la justice, n’est point parvenu à la Loi de la justice.
Mas Israel que seguía la ley de justicia, no ha llegado á la ley de justicia.
But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, didn’t arrive at the law of righteousness.
Pourquoi ? parce que ce n’a point été par la foi, mais comme par les oeuvres de la Loi ; car ils ont heurté contre la pierre d’achoppement.
¿Por qué? Porque la seguían no por fe, mas como por las obras de la ley: por lo cual tropezaron en la piedra de tropiezo,
Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
Why? Because they didn’t seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,
Selon ce qui est écrit : voici, je mets en Sion la pierre d’achoppement ; et la pierre qui occasionnera des chutes ; et quiconque croit en lui ne sera point confus.
Como está escrito: He aquí pongo en Sión piedra de tropiezo, y piedra de caída; y aquel que creyere en ella, no será avergonzado.
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
even as it is written, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and a rock of offense; and no one who believes in him will be disappointed.”
