Et il arriva, dans le temps que les Juges gouvernaient, qu'il y eut une famine dans le pays. Et un homme de Bethléem de Juda s'en alla demeurer dans la campagne de Moab, lui, sa femme et ses deux fils.

Y ACONTECIÓ en los días que gobernaban los jueces, que hubo hambre en la tierra. Y un varón de Beth-lehem de Judá, fué á peregrinar en los campos de Moab, él y su mujer, y dos hijos suyos.

Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Beth-lehem-judah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.

Et le nom de cet homme était Elimélec, et le nom de sa femme Noomi, et les noms de ses deux fils Machlon et Kiljon ; ils étaient Ephrathiens, de Bethléem de Juda. Et ils vinrent dans la campagne de Moab et s'y établirent.

El nombre de aquel varón era Elimelech, y el de su mujer Noemi; y los nombres de sus dos hijos eran, Mahalón y Chelión, Ephrateos de Beth-lehem de Judá. Llegaron pues á los campos de Moab, y asentaron allí.

And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Beth-lehem-judah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.

Et Elimélec, mari de Noomi, mourut, et elle resta seule avec ses deux fils.

Et ils épousèrent des femmes moabites, et le nom de l'une était Orpa et le nom de la seconde Ruth ; et ils demeurèrent là environ dix ans.

Los cuales tomaron para sí mujeres de Moab, el nombre de la una Orpha, y el nombre de la otra Ruth; y habitaron allí unos diez años.

And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.

Et Machlon et Kiljon moururent aussi tous deux ; et cette femme resta seule, privée de ses deux fils et de son mari.

Y murieron también los dos, Mahalón y Chelión, quedando así la mujer desamparada de sus dos hijos y de su marido.

And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

Et elle se leva avec ses belles-filles, pour s'en retourner de la campagne de Moab, car elle avait entendu dans la campagne de Moab que l'Eternel avait visité son peuple en lui donnant du pain.

Entonces se levantó con sus nueras, y volvióse de los campos de Moab: porque oyó en el campo de Moab que Jehová había visitado á su pueblo para darles pan.

Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread.

Et elle sortit donc du lieu où elle s'était établie, et ses deux belles-filles étaient avec elle ; et elles se mirent en route pour retourner dans le pays de Juda.

Salió pues del lugar donde había estado, y con ella sus dos nueras, y comenzaron á caminar para volverse á la tierra de Judá.

Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.

Et Noomi dit à ses deux belles-filles : Allez, retournez chacune dans la maison de sa mère ! Que l'Eternel vous traite avec bonté, comme vous avez traité ceux qui sont morts et moi aussi.

Y Noemi dijo á sus dos nueras: Andad, volveos cada una á la casa de su madre: Jehová haga con vosotras misericordia, como la habéis hecho con los muertos y conmigo.

And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.

Que l'Eternel vous donne à chacune de trouver du repos dans la maison d'un mari. Et elle les embrassa. Et elles élevèrent la voix et pleurèrent.

Déos Jehová que halléis descanso, cada una en casa de su marido: besólas luego, y ellas lloraron á voz en grito.

The LORD grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept.

Et elles lui dirent : Non ! car nous retournerons avec toi vers ton peuple.

Y dijéronle: Ciertamente nosotras volveremos contigo á tu pueblo.

And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people.

They said to her, “No, but we will return with you to your people.”

Et Noomi dit : Retournez, mes filles. Pourquoi viendriez-vous avec moi ? Ai-je encore des fils dans mes entrailles, qu'ils puissent devenir vos maris ?

Y Noemi respondió: Volveos, hijas mías: ¿para qué habéis de ir conmigo? ¿tengo yo más hijos en el vientre, que puedan ser vuestros maridos?

And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

Naomi said, “Go back, my daughters. Why do you want to go with me? Do I still have sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

Retournez, mes filles, allez ! Je suis trop âgée pour me remarier ; et quand je dirais : J'ai de l'espérance, et que je serais cette nuit à un mari et que j'enfanterais des fils,

Volveos, hijas mías, é idos; que yo ya soy vieja para ser para varón. Y aunque dijese: Esperanza tengo; y esta noche fuese con varón, y aun pariese hijos;

Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;

est-ce que pour cela vous attendriez jusqu'à ce qu'ils fussent grands ? Vous abstiendriez-vous pour cela de vous remarier ? Non, mes filles, car je suis plus affligée que vous, parce que la main de l'Eternel s'est appesantie sur moi.

¿Habíais vosotras de esperarlos hasta que fuesen grandes? ¿habías vosotras de quedaros sin casar por amor de ellos? No, hijas mías; que mayor amargura tengo yo que vosotras, pues la mano de Jehová ha salido contra mí.

Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.

would you then wait until they were grown? Would you then refrain from having husbands? No, my daughters, for it grieves me seriously for your sakes, for the LORD’s hand has gone out against me.”

Et elles élevèrent la voix et pleurèrent encore. Et Orpa embrassa sa belle-mère ; mais Ruth s'attacha à elle.

Mas ellas alzando otra vez su voz, lloraron: y Orpha besó á su suegra, mas Ruth se quedó con ella.

And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.

They lifted up their voices and wept again; then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth stayed with her.

Et Noorni dit : Voici, ta belle-sœur s'en est retournée vers son peuple et vers son dieu, retourne-t'en après ta belle-sœur.

Y Noemi dijo: He aquí tu cuñada se ha vuelto á su pueblo y á sus dioses; vuélvete tú tras ella.

And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.

She said, “Behold, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her god. Follow your sister-in-law.”

Et Ruth dit : Ne me presse pas de te laisser en m'éloignant d'auprès de toi, car où tu iras, j'irai ; où tu demeureras, je demeurerai ; ton peuple sera mon peuple et ton Dieu sera mon Dieu ;

Y Ruth respondió: No me ruegues que te deje, y me aparte de ti: porque donde quiera que tú fueres, iré yo; y donde quiera que vivieres, viviré. Tu pueblo será mi pueblo, y tu Dios mi Dios.

And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

Ruth said, “Don’t urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God.

où tu mourras, je mourrai et j'y serai ensevelie. Qu'ainsi me fasse l'Eternel et qu'ainsi il y ajoute, si autre chose que la mort me sépare de toi !

Donde tú murieres, moriré yo, y allí seré sepultada: así me haga Jehová, y así me dé, que sólo la muerte hará separación entre mí y ti.

Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.”

Et †Noomi vit qu'elle était décidée d'aller avec elle, et elle cessa de lui en parler.

Y viendo Noemi que estaba tan resuelta á ir con ella, dejó de hablarle.

When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

When Naomi saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.

Et elles marchèrent toutes deux jusqu'à ce qu'elles arrivassent à Bethléem. Et quand elles entrèrent à Bethléem, toute la ville fut émue à cause d'elles, et les femmes disaient : Est-ce bien là Noomi ?

Anduvieron pues ellas dos hasta que llegaron á Beth-lehem: y aconteció que entrando en Beth-lehem, toda la ciudad se conmovió por razón de ellas, y decían: ¿No es ésta Noemi?

So they two went until they came to Beth-lehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Beth-lehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi?

So they both went until they came to Bethlehem. When they had come to Bethlehem, all the city was excited about them, and they asked, “Is this Naomi?”

Et elle leur dit : Ne m'appelez pas Noomi ; appelez-moi Mara, car le Tout-Puissant m'a remplie d'amertume.

Y ella les respondía: No me llaméis Noemi, sino llamadme Mara: porque en grande amargura me ha puesto el Todopoderoso.

And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me.

She said to them, “Don’t call me Naomi. Call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.

Je m'en suis allée comblée de biens, et l'Eternel me ramène à vide. Pourquoi m'appelleriez-vous Noomi, quand l'Eternel a témoigné contre moi et que le Tout-Puissant m'a rendue malheureuse ?

Yo me fuí llena, mas vacía me ha vuelto Jehová. ¿Por qué me llamaréis Noemi, ya que Jehová ha dado testimonio contra mí, y el Todopoderoso me ha afligido?

I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me?

I went out full, and the LORD has brought me home again empty. Why do you call me Naomi, since the LORD has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?”

C'est ainsi que Noomi s'en retourna, et, avec elle, Ruth la Moabite, sa belle-fille, qui était venue de la campagne de Moab. Et elles arrivèrent à Bethléem au commencement de la moisson des orges.

Así volvió Noemi y Ruth Moabita su nuera con ella; volvió de los campos de Moab, y llegaron á Beth-lehem en el principio de la siega de las cebadas.

So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Beth-lehem in the beginning of barley harvest.
