Du temps des juges, il y eut une famine sur la terre ; et un homme partit de Bethléem en Juda, pour aller aux champs de Moab, lui, et sa femme et ses deux fils.

Y ACONTECIÓ en los días que gobernaban los jueces, que hubo hambre en la tierra. Y un varón de Beth-lehem de Judá, fué á peregrinar en los campos de Moab, él y su mujer, y dos hijos suyos.

Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Beth-lehem-judah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.

Le nom de l'homme était Elimélech, et le nom de sa femme Noémi, et les noms de ses deux fils, Maalon et Chélaïon, Éphrathéens de Bethléem en Juda. Ainsi, ils allèrent aux champs de Moab et ils demeurèrent.

El nombre de aquel varón era Elimelech, y el de su mujer Noemi; y los nombres de sus dos hijos eran, Mahalón y Chelión, Ephrateos de Beth-lehem de Judá. Llegaron pues á los campos de Moab, y asentaron allí.

And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Beth-lehem-judah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.

Or, Elimélech, le mari de Noémi, mourut, et elle resta veuve avec deux fils.

Et ils épousèrent des femmes moabites : l'une se nommait Orpha, la seconde se nommait Ruth, et ils passèrent là dix années,

Los cuales tomaron para sí mujeres de Moab, el nombre de la una Orpha, y el nombre de la otra Ruth; y habitaron allí unos diez años.

And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.

Et tous les deux moururent aussi : Maalon et Chélaïon, la femme resta ainsi privée de son mari et de ses deux fils.

Y murieron también los dos, Mahalón y Chelión, quedando así la mujer desamparada de sus dos hijos y de su marido.

And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

Alors, elle se leva avec ses deux brus, et elles s'en allèrent des champs de Moab, parce qu'elles y avaient appris que le Seigneur avait visité son peuple pour lui donner du pain.

Entonces se levantó con sus nueras, y volvióse de los campos de Moab: porque oyó en el campo de Moab que Jehová había visitado á su pueblo para darles pan.

Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread.

Elle quitta donc le lieu où elle était, et ses deux brus avec elle ; elles se mirent en route pour retourner en la terre de Juda,

Salió pues del lugar donde había estado, y con ella sus dos nueras, y comenzaron á caminar para volverse á la tierra de Judá.

Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.

Et Noémi dit à ses deux brus : Allez, retournez chacune en la maison de votre mère ; que le Seigneur soit miséricordieux envers vous comme vous l'avez été pour nos morts et pour moi.

Y Noemi dijo á sus dos nueras: Andad, volveos cada una á la casa de su madre: Jehová haga con vosotras misericordia, como la habéis hecho con los muertos y conmigo.

And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.

Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go, return each of you to her mother’s house. May the LORD deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me.

Que le Seigneur vous l'accorde, et vous retrouverez l'une et l'autre la maison d'un époux. Puis, elle les embrassa, et elles élevèrent la voix, et elles se prirent à pleurer.

Déos Jehová que halléis descanso, cada una en casa de su marido: besólas luego, y ellas lloraron á voz en grito.

The LORD grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept.

Et elles lui dirent. Nous irons avec toi chez ton peuple.

Y dijéronle: Ciertamente nosotras volveremos contigo á tu pueblo.

And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people.

They said to her, “No, but we will return with you to your people.”

Mais Noémi dit : Allez-vous-en, mes filles. Pourquoi viendriez-vous avec moi ? Ai-je encore en mes entrailles des fils qui puissent être vos époux ?

Y Noemi respondió: Volveos, hijas mías: ¿para qué habéis de ir conmigo? ¿tengo yo más hijos en el vientre, que puedan ser vuestros maridos?

And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

Naomi said, “Go back, my daughters. Why do you want to go with me? Do I still have sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?

Allez-vous-en, mes filles, parce que je suis trop vieille pour être avec un mari, et que du reste j'ai dit : Quand même je pourrais prendre un mari et enfanter des fils

Volveos, hijas mías, é idos; que yo ya soy vieja para ser para varón. Y aunque dijese: Esperanza tengo; y esta noche fuese con varón, y aun pariese hijos;

Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;

Go back, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say, ‘I have hope,’ if I should even have a husband tonight, and should also bear sons,

Les attendriez-vous jusqu'à qu'ils soient devenus hommes ; et, poux eux, vous abstiendriez-vous d'être avec des maris ? Ne venez point, mes filles ; car j'ai bien de la peine à votre sujet, parce que la main du Seigneur s'est appesantie sur moi.

¿Habíais vosotras de esperarlos hasta que fuesen grandes? ¿habías vosotras de quedaros sin casar por amor de ellos? No, hijas mías; que mayor amargura tengo yo que vosotras, pues la mano de Jehová ha salido contra mí.

Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.

would you then wait until they were grown? Would you then refrain from having husbands? No, my daughters, for it grieves me seriously for your sakes, for the LORD’s hand has gone out against me.”

Et elles élevèrent la voix et elles pleurèrent encore ; Orpha embrassa sa belle-mère, et elle s'en retourna chez son peuple ; mais Ruth suivit Noémi.

Mas ellas alzando otra vez su voz, lloraron: y Orpha besó á su suegra, mas Ruth se quedó con ella.

And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.

They lifted up their voices and wept again; then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth stayed with her.

Et Noémi dit à Ruth : Vois, ta sœur retourne à son peuple et à ses dieux ; fais comme elle, et accompagne ta sœur.

Y Noemi dijo: He aquí tu cuñada se ha vuelto á su pueblo y á sus dioses; vuélvete tú tras ella.

And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.

She said, “Behold, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her god. Follow your sister-in-law.”

Et Ruth dit : Ne me parle plus de m'éloigner de toi et de t'abandonner, parce qu'où tu iras, j'irai ; où tu demeureras, je demeurerai ; ton peuple est mon peuple, ton Dieu est mon Dieu ;

Y Ruth respondió: No me ruegues que te deje, y me aparte de ti: porque donde quiera que tú fueres, iré yo; y donde quiera que vivieres, viviré. Tu pueblo será mi pueblo, y tu Dios mi Dios.

And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

Ruth said, “Don’t urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God.

Où tu mourras, je mourrai, et c'est là que je serai ensevelie ; que le Seigneur me punisse, et qu'il me punisse encore si je te quitte, car la mort seule nous séparera.

Donde tú murieres, moriré yo, y allí seré sepultada: así me haga Jehová, y así me dé, que sólo la muerte hará separación entre mí y ti.

Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.”

Voyant donc sa ferme volonté de partir avec elle, Noémi cessa de lui parler.

Y viendo Noemi que estaba tan resuelta á ir con ella, dejó de hablarle.

When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

When Naomi saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.

Elles marchèrent toutes deux jusqu'à ce qu'elles arrivassent à Bethléem ; et, dès qu'elles furent entrées à Bethléem, toute la ville fut en rumeur à leur sujet, et les femmes dirent : N'est-ce point Noémi ?

Anduvieron pues ellas dos hasta que llegaron á Beth-lehem: y aconteció que entrando en Beth-lehem, toda la ciudad se conmovió por razón de ellas, y decían: ¿No es ésta Noemi?

So they two went until they came to Beth-lehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Beth-lehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi?

So they both went until they came to Bethlehem. When they had come to Bethlehem, all the city was excited about them, and they asked, “Is this Naomi?”

Et elle leur dit : Ne m'appelez point Noémi (belle) ; appelez-moi Mara (amère) , parce que le Tout-Puissant m'a remplie, d'amertume.

Y ella les respondía: No me llaméis Noemi, sino llamadme Mara: porque en grande amargura me ha puesto el Todopoderoso.

And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me.

She said to them, “Don’t call me Naomi. Call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.

Pleine je suis partie, et vide me renvoie le Seigneur. Pourquoi m'appelleriez-vous Noémi, puisque le Seigneur m'a humiliée et que le Tout-Puissant m'a accablée, de maux ?

Yo me fuí llena, mas vacía me ha vuelto Jehová. ¿Por qué me llamaréis Noemi, ya que Jehová ha dado testimonio contra mí, y el Todopoderoso me ha afligido?

I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me?

I went out full, and the LORD has brought me home again empty. Why do you call me Naomi, since the LORD has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?”

Noémi et sa bru Ruth la Moabite étaient donc revenues des champs de Moab, et elles étaient entrées à Bethléem comme on commençait à moissonner les orges.

Así volvió Noemi y Ruth Moabita su nuera con ella; volvió de los campos de Moab, y llegaron á Beth-lehem en el principio de la siega de las cebadas.

So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Beth-lehem in the beginning of barley harvest.
