Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, “My daughter, shall I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?
Ahora pues, aquel Booz, con cuyas esclavas tú estuviste, ¿no es pariente nuestro? Mira, él avienta la era de la cebada esta noche.
¿No es Booz nuestro pariente, con cuyas mozas tú has estado? He aquí que él avienta esta noche la parva de las cebadas.
And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.
Now isn’t Boaz our kinsman, with whose maidens you were? Behold, he will be winnowing barley tonight on the threshing floor.
Así que lávate y úngete. Ponte tu mejor ropa y baja a la era. Pero no te des a conocer al varón hasta que acabe de comer y beber.
Te lavarás pues, y te ungirás, y vistiéndote tus vestidos, pasarás á la era; mas no te darás á conocer al varón hasta que él haya acabado de comer y de beber.
Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
Therefore wash yourself, anoint yourself, get dressed, and go down to the threshing floor; but don’t make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.
Cuando se acueste, observarás bien el lugar donde se acueste. Irás, alzarás la cubierta de sus pies, y te acostarás allí. Él te dirá lo que debes hacer.
Y cuando él se acostare, repara tú el lugar donde él se acostará, é irás, y descubrirás los pies, y te acostarás allí; y él te dirá lo que hayas de hacer.
And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.
It shall be, when he lies down, that you shall note the place where he is lying. Then you shall go in, uncover his feet, and lie down. Then he will tell you what to do.”
Y ella respondió: Haré todo lo que me dices.
Y le respondió: Haré todo lo que tú me mandares.
And she said unto her, All that thou sayest unto me I will do.
She said to her, “All that you say, I will do.”
Así que bajó a la era e hizo todo lo que su suegra le mandó.
Descendió pues á la era, é hizo todo lo que su suegra le había mandado.
And she went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.
She went down to the threshing floor, and did everything that her mother-in-law told her.
Cuando Booz comió y bebió, y estuvo alegre su corazón, se retiró a dormir en un lado del montón. Entonces ella fue calladamente, descubrió sus pies y se acostó.
Y como Booz hubo comido y bebido, y su corazón estuvo contento, retiróse á dormir á un lado del montón. Entonces ella vino calladamente, y descubrió los pies, y acostóse.
And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.

Sucedió que a la media noche aquel varón se estremeció y palpó, ¡y ahí estaba una mujer acostada a sus pies!
Y aconteció, que á la media noche se estremeció aquel hombre, y palpó: y he aquí, la mujer que estaba acostada á sus pies.
And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.
At midnight, the man was startled and turned himself; and behold, a woman lay at his feet.
Entonces él dijo: ¿Quién eres tú? Y ella respondió: Soy Rut, tu esclava. Extiende el borde de tu manto sobre tu esclava, porque eres mi pariente cercano.
Entonces él dijo: ¿Quién eres? Y ella respondió: Yo soy Ruth tu sierva: extiende el borde de tu capa sobre tu sierva, por cuanto eres pariente cercano.
And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.
He said, “Who are you?” She answered, “I am Ruth your servant. Therefore spread the corner of your garment over your servant; for you are a near kinsman.”
Y él dijo: ¡Bendita seas por Yavé, hija mía! Hiciste mejor tu última bondad que la primera, al no ir en busca de los jóvenes, sean pobres o ricos.
Y él dijo: Bendita seas tú de Jehová, hija mía; que has hecho mejor tu postrera gracia que la primera, no yendo tras los mancebos, sean pobres ó ricos.
And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
He said, “You are blessed by the LORD, my daughter. You have shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, because you didn’t follow young men, whether poor or rich.
Ahora pues, hija mía, no temas. Yo haré por ti todo lo que me dices, pues todo mi pueblo en la ciudad sabe que eres una mujer excelente.
Ahora pues, no temas, hija mía: yo haré contigo lo que tú dijeres, pues que toda la puerta de mi pueblo sabe que eres mujer virtuosa.
And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
Now, my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do to you all that you say; for all the city of my people knows that you are a worthy woman.

Permanece aquí esta noche, y cuando llegue el día, si él quiere redimirte, bien, que te redima. Pero si él no quiere redimirte, ¡vive Yavé, yo te redimiré! Acuéstate hasta la mañana.
Reposa esta noche, y cuando sea de día, si él te redimiere, bien, redímate; mas si él no te quisiere redimir, yo te redimiré, vive Jehová. Descansa pues hasta la mañana.
Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman’s part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.
Stay this night, and in the morning, if he will perform for you the part of a kinsman, good. Let him do the kinsman’s duty. But if he will not do the duty of a kinsman for you, then I will do the duty of a kinsman for you, as the LORD lives. Lie down until the morning.”
Así que ella se acostó a sus pies hasta la mañana. Luego se levantó antes que uno pudiera reconocer a otro, porque él dijo: No se sepa que vino mujer a la era.
Y después que reposó á sus pies hasta la mañana, levantóse, antes que nadie pudiese conocer á otro. Y él dijo: No se sepa que haya venido mujer á la era.
And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.
She lay at his feet until the morning, then she rose up before one could discern another. For he said, “Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing floor.”
Después le dijo: Dame el manto que está sobre ti y sostenlo. Ella lo sostuvo. Y él tomó seis medidas de cebada y se las colocó encima. Entonces ella fue a la ciudad.
Después le dijo: Llega el lienzo que traes sobre ti, y ten de él. Y teniéndolo ella, él midió seis medidas de cebada, y púsoselas á cuestas: y vínose ella á la ciudad.
Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.
He said, “Bring the mantle that is on you, and hold it.” She held it; and he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her; then he went into the city.
Cuando volvió a su suegra, ésta preguntó: ¿Qué sucedió, hija mía? Y ella le contó todo lo que aquel varón había hecho por ella.
Así que vino á su suegra, ésta le dijo: ¿Qué pues, hija mía? Y declaróle ella todo lo que con aquel varón le había acontecido.
And when she came to her mother in law, she said, Who art thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.
When she came to her mother-in-law, she said, “How did it go, my daughter?” She told her all that the man had done for her.
Y añadió: Me dio estas seis medidas de 22 litros de cebada, pues dijo: No regreses a tu suegra con las manos vacías.
Y dijo: Estas seis medidas de cebada me dió, diciéndome: Porque no vayas vacía á tu suegra.
And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.
She said, “He gave me these six measures of barley; for he said, ‘Don’t go empty to your mother-in-law.’”
Y ésta dijo: Descansa, hija mía, hasta que sepas cómo termina este asunto, porque el hombre no descansará hasta que concluya hoy mismo el asunto.
Entonces Noemi dijo: Reposa, hija mía, hasta que sepas cómo cae la cosa: porque aquel hombre no parará hasta que hoy concluya el negocio.
Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
Then she said, “Wait, my daughter, until you know what will happen; for the man will not rest until he has settled this today.”
