Mi baci egli de’ baci della sua bocca!… poiché le tue carezze son migliori del vino.
¡Oh si él me besara con ósculos de su boca! porque mejores son tus amores que el vino.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth; for your love is better than wine.
I tuoi profumi hanno un odore soave; il tuo nome è un profumo che si spande; perciò t’aman le fanciulle!
Por el olor de tus suaves ungüentos, (ungüento derramado es tu nombre,) por eso las doncellas te amaron.
Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
Your oils have a pleasing fragrance. Your name is oil poured out, therefore the virgins love you.
Attirami a te! Noi ti correremo dietro! Il re m’ha condotta ne’ suoi appartamenti; noi gioiremo, ci rallegreremo a motivo di te; noi celebreremo le tue carezze più del vino! A ragione sei amato!
Llévame en pos de ti, correremos. Metióme el rey en sus cámaras: nos gozaremos y alegraremos en ti; acordarémonos de tus amores más que del vino: los rectos te aman.
Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
Take me away with you. Let’s hurry. The king has brought me into his rooms. Friends We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will praise your love more than wine! Beloved They are right to love you.
Io son nera ma son bella, o figliuole di Gerusalemme, come le tende di Chedar, come i padiglioni di Salomone.
Morena soy, oh hijas de Jerusalem, mas codiciable; como las cabañas de Cedar, como las tiendas de Salomón.
I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
I am dark, but lovely, you daughters of Jerusalem, like Kedar’s tents, like Solomon’s curtains.
Non guardate se son nera; è il sole che m’ha bruciata; i figliuoli di mia madre si sono adirati contro di me; m’hanno fatta guardiana delle vigne, ma io, la mia vigna, non l’ho guardata.
No miréis en que soy morena, porque el sol me miró. Los hijos de mi madre se airaron contra mí, hiciéronme guarda de viñas; y mi viña, que era mía, no guardé.
Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
Don’t stare at me because I am dark, because the sun has scorched me. My mother’s sons were angry with me. They made me keeper of the vineyards. I haven’t kept my own vineyard.
O tu che il mio cuore ama, dimmi dove meni a pascere il tuo gregge, e dove lo fai riposare sul mezzogiorno. Poiché, perché sarei io come una donna sperduta, presso i greggi de’ tuoi compagni?
Hazme saber, ó tú á quien ama mi alma, dónde repastas, dónde haces tener majada al medio día: porque, ¿por qué había yo de estar como vagueando tras los rebaños de tus compañeros?
Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
Tell me, you whom my soul loves, where you graze your flock, where you rest them at noon; for why should I be as one who is veiled beside the flocks of your companions?
Se non lo sai, o la più bella delle donne, esci e segui le tracce delle pecore, e fa’ pascere i tuoi capretti presso alle tende de’ pastori.
Si tú no lo sabes, oh hermosa entre las mujeres, sal, yéndote por las huellas del rebaño, y apacienta tus cabritas junto á las cabañas de los pastores.
If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds’ tents.
If you don’t know, most beautiful among women, follow the tracks of the sheep. Graze your young goats beside the shepherds’ tents.
Amica mia io t’assomiglio alla mia cavalla che s’attacca ai carri di Faraone.
A yegua de los carros de Faraón te he comparado, amiga mía.
I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh’s chariots.
I have compared you, my love, to a steed in Pharaoh’s chariots.
Le tue guance son belle in mezzo alle collane, e il tuo collo è bello tra i filari di perle.
Hermosas son tus mejillas entre los pendientes, tu cuello entre los collares.
Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.
Your cheeks are beautiful with earrings, your neck with strings of jewels.
Noi ti faremo delle collane d’oro con de’ punti d’argento.
Zarcillos de oro te haremos, con clavos de plata.
We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.
We will make you earrings of gold, with studs of silver.
Mentre il re è nel suo convito, il mio nardo esala il suo profumo.
Mientras que el rey estaba en su reclinatorio, mi nardo dió su olor.
While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.
While the king sat at his table, my perfume spread its fragrance.
Il mio amico m’è un sacchetto di mirra, che passa la notte sul mio seno.
Mi amado es para mí un manojito de mirra, que reposa entre mis pechos.
A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
My beloved is to me a sachet of myrrh, that lies between my breasts.
Il mio amico m’è un grappolo di cipro delle vigne d’En-Ghedi.
Racimo de copher en las viñas de Engadi es para mí mi amado.
