fragantes como los más olorosos perfumes. Bálsamo derramado es tu nombre; por eso las doncellitas te quieren tanto.
¡Oh si él me besara con ósculos de su boca! porque mejores son tus amores que el vino.

Atráeme tú mismo en pos de ti, y correremos todas al olor de tus aromas. Me introdujo el rey en su gabinete, elevándome a esposa suya. Saltaremos de contento, y nos regocijaremos en ti, conservando la memoria de tus castos amores, superiores a las delicias del vino. Por eso te aman los rectos de corazón.
Por el olor de tus suaves ungüentos, (ungüento derramado es tu nombre,) por eso las doncellas te amaron.
Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
Your oils have a pleasing fragrance. Your name is oil poured out, therefore the virgins love you.
Negra soy, o morena, hija de Jerusalén , pero soy bien parecida; soy como las tiendas de Cedar, como los pabellones de Salomón .
Llévame en pos de ti, correremos. Metióme el rey en sus cámaras: nos gozaremos y alegraremos en ti; acordarémonos de tus amores más que del vino: los rectos te aman.
Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
Take me away with you. Let’s hurry. The king has brought me into his rooms. Friends We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will praise your love more than wine! Beloved They are right to love you.
No reparéis, pues, en que soy morena; porque me ha robado el sol mi color, cuando los hijos de mi madre se declararon contra mí, y me pusieron a guarda de viñas. ¡Ay!, mi propia viña no la guardé.
Morena soy, oh hijas de Jerusalem, mas codiciable; como las cabañas de Cedar, como las tiendas de Salomón.
I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
I am dark, but lovely, you daughters of Jerusalem, like Kedar’s tents, like Solomon’s curtains.
¡Oh tú, el querido de mi alma!, dime dónde tienes los pastos, dónde el sesteadero al llegar el mediodía, para que no tenga yo que ir vagueando tras de los rebaños de tus compañeros.
No miréis en que soy morena, porque el sol me miró. Los hijos de mi madre se airaron contra mí, hiciéronme guarda de viñas; y mi viña, que era mía, no guardé.
Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.

Si lo ignoras, ¡oh hermosísima entre las mujeres!, sal fuera, y ve siguiendo las huellas de los ganados, y guía tus cabritillos a pacer junto a las cabañas de los pastores de mis ovejas.
Hazme saber, ó tú á quien ama mi alma, dónde repastas, dónde haces tener majada al medio día: porque, ¿por qué había yo de estar como vagueando tras los rebaños de tus compañeros?
Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
Tell me, you whom my soul loves, where you graze your flock, where you rest them at noon; for why should I be as one who is veiled beside the flocks of your companions?
A mis hermosos y arrogantes caballos uncidos en las carrozas que me ha dado el faraón, te tengo yo comparada, amiga mía.
Si tú no lo sabes, oh hermosa entre las mujeres, sal, yéndote por las huellas del rebaño, y apacienta tus cabritas junto á las cabañas de los pastores.
If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds’ tents.
If you don’t know, most beautiful among women, follow the tracks of the sheep. Graze your young goats beside the shepherds’ tents.
Lindas son tus mejillas así como de tortolilla; tu cuello como si estuviera adornado de collares de perlas.
A yegua de los carros de Faraón te he comparado, amiga mía.
I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh’s chariots.

Gargantillas de oro haremos para ti, taraceadas de plata.
Hermosas son tus mejillas entre los pendientes, tu cuello entre los collares.
Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.
Your cheeks are beautiful with earrings, your neck with strings of jewels.
Mientras estaba el rey recostado en su asiento, mi nardo precioso difundió su fragancia.
Zarcillos de oro te haremos, con clavos de plata.
We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.

Manojito de mirra es para mí el amado mío; entre mis pechos quedará.
Mientras que el rey estaba en su reclinatorio, mi nardo dió su olor.

Racimo de cipro es mi amado para mí, cogido en las viñas en Engaddi.
