Paul, serviteur de Dieu, et apôtre de Jésus-Christ, selon la foi des élus de Dieu, et la connaissance de la vérité qui est selon la piété,

PABLO, siervo de Dios, y apóstol de Jesucristo, según la fe de los escogidos de Dios, y el conocimiento de la verdad que es según la piedad,

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

dans l'espérance de la vie éternelle, que Dieu, qui ne ment pas, a promise avant des temps éternels,

Para la esperanza de la vida eterna, la cual Dios, que no puede mentir, prometió antes de los tiempos de los siglos,

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

mais il a manifesté en son propre temps sa Parole, par la prédication qui m'a été confiée, selon l'ordre de Dieu notre Sauveur :

Y manifestó á sus tiempos su palabra por la predicación, que me es á mí encomendada por mandamiento de nuestro Salvador Dios;

But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,

à Tite, mon véritable enfant dans la foi qui nous est commune : Grâce et paix de la part de Dieu le Père, et de Jésus-Christ notre Sauveur.

A Tito, verdadero hijo en la común fe: Gracia, misericordia, y paz de Dios Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo Salvador nuestro.

To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

La raison pour laquelle je t'ai laissé en Crète, c'est afin que tu règles les choses qui restent à régler, et que tu établisses dans chaque ville des anciens, suivant que je te l'ai ordonné,

Por esta causa te dejé en Creta, para que corrigieses lo que falta, y pusieses ancianos por las villas, así como yo te mandé:

For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—

s'il y a quelqu'un qui soit irréprochable, mari d'une seule femme, ayant des enfants fidèles, qui ne soient ni accusés de dissolution, ni désobéissants.

El que fuere sin crimen, marido de una mujer, que tenga hijos fieles que no estén acusados de disolución, ó contumaces.

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.

Car il faut que l'évêque soit irréprochable, comme administrateur de Dieu ; non attaché à son sens, ni colère, ni adonné au vin, ni violent, ni porté au gain déshonnête ;

Porque es menester que el obispo sea sin crimen, como dispensador de Dios; no soberbio, no iracundo, no amador del vino, no heridor, no codicioso de torpes ganancias;

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

mais qu'il soit hospitalier, ami des gens de bien, prudent, juste, sain, tempérant :

Sino hospedador, amador de lo bueno, templado, justo, santo, continente;

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,

retenant la fidèle parole selon la doctrine, en sorte qu'il soit capable, et d'exhorter suivant cette saine doctrine, et de convaincre les contradicteurs.

Retenedor de la fiel palabra que es conforme á la doctrina: para que también pueda exhortar con sana doctrina, y convencer á los que contradijeren.

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.

Car il y en a plusieurs, principalement parmi ceux de la circoncision qui ne veulent pas se soumettre, vains discoureurs, qui séduisent les âmes,

Porque hay aún muchos contumaces, habladores de vanidades, y engañadores de las almas, mayormente los que son de la circuncisión,

For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

auxquels il faut fermer la bouche, eux qui pervertissent des familles entières, enseignant pour un gain honteux ce qu'il ne faut pas enseigner.

A los cuales es preciso tapar la boca; que trastornan casas enteras; enseñando lo que no conviene, por torpe ganancia.

Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

Quelqu'un d'entre eux, leur propre prophète, a dit : Crétois toujours menteurs, méchantes bêtes, ventres paresseux.

Dijo uno de ellos, propio profeta de ellos: Los Cretenses, siempre mentirosos, malas bestias, vientres perezosos.

One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Ce témoignage est vrai ; c'est pourquoi reprends-les sévèrement, afin qu'ils deviennent sains en la foi :

Este testimonio es verdadero: por tanto, repréndelos duramente, para que sean sanos en la fe,

This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

ne s'attachant point aux fables judaïques, et aux ordonnances d'hommes qui se détournent de la vérité.

No atendiendo á fábulas judaicas, y á mandamientos de hombres que se apartan de la verdad.

Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.

Toutes choses sont pures pour ceux qui sont purs ; mais rien n'est pur pour ceux qui sont souillés et incrédules ; au contraire, et leur entendement et leur conscience sont souillés.

Todas las cosas son limpias á los limpios; mas á los contaminados é infieles nada es limpio: antes su alma y conciencia están contaminadas.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

Ils font profession de connaître Dieu, mais ils le renient par leurs œuvres ; étant abominables et rebelles et incapables de toute bonne œuvre.

Profésanse conocer á Dios; mas con los hechos lo niegan, siendo abominables y rebeldes, reprobados para toda buena obra.

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
