Paulus, ein Sklave (Diener) Gottes und ein Apostel Jesu Christi gemäß dem Glauben der Auserwählten Gottes und der genauen Erkenntnis der Wahrheit, die der Gottergebenheit entspricht,

PABLO, siervo de Dios, y apóstol de Jesucristo, según la fe de los escogidos de Dios, y el conocimiento de la verdad que es según la piedad,

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

wegen der Hoffnung auf das ewige Leben, das Gott, der nicht lügen kann, vor langer Zeit verheißen hat,

Para la esperanza de la vida eterna, la cual Dios, que no puede mentir, prometió antes de los tiempos de los siglos,

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Deswegen habe ich dich auf Kreta gelassen, damit du die Dinge berichtigst, die mangelhaft waren und von den Städten Ernennungen von Ältesten (älteren Männern) vornimmst, wie ich es dir gesagt habe,

Por esta causa te dejé en Creta, para que corrigieses lo que falta, y pusieses ancianos por las villas, así como yo te mandé:

For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

wenn irgendjemand ungeklagt ist, ein Ehemann, der gläubige Kinder hat, die sich auch nicht schuldig gemacht haben in Widerspenstigkeit oder Ausschweifungen.

El que fuere sin crimen, marido de una mujer, que tenga hijos fieles que no estén acusados de disolución, ó contumaces.

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.

Denn als Verwalter Gottes muss ein Mann frei sein von jener Anklage als Aufseher, nicht egoistisch, sollte Selbstbeherrschung haben, starke Nerven haben, kein Alkoholiker, kein Schlägertyp, kein Abzocker (Betrüger),

Porque es menester que el obispo sea sin crimen, como dispensador de Dios; no soberbio, no iracundo, no amador del vino, no heridor, no codicioso de torpes ganancias;

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

sondern gastfreundlich sein und die Gerechtigkeit (das Gute) lieben, einen klaren Verstand haben und loyal sein,

Sino hospedador, amador de lo bueno, templado, justo, santo, continente;

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,

am zuverlässigen Wort festhaltend, was sein Können des Lehrens betrifft, damit er in der Lage ist, durch die gesunde Lehre sowohl zu ermahnen, als auch die Widersprechenden zurechtzuweisen.

Retenedor de la fiel palabra que es conforme á la doctrina: para que también pueda exhortar con sana doctrina, y convencer á los que contradijeren.

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.

Denn es sind viele, die widerspenstig sind oder hochnäsige Lästerer (Schwätzer), und welche die Verwirrung stiften, ausgerechnet diese halten die Beschneidung noch für angebracht.

Porque hay aún muchos contumaces, habladores de vanidades, y engañadores de las almas, mayormente los que son de la circuncisión,

For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

Es ist notwendig, sie zum Schweigen zu bringen (den Mund zu stopfen), da es die sind, die ganze Familien (Haushalte) in ihren Bann ziehen, indem sie diese über den Tisch ziehen, indem sie sie Dinge lehren, die sich nicht gehören.

A los cuales es preciso tapar la boca; que trastornan casas enteras; enseñando lo que no conviene, por torpe ganancia.

Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

Einer von ihnen, ihr eigener Prophet, hat gesagt: Kreter sind immer Lügner, schädliche wilde Tiere, unbeschäftigte Fresser.

Dijo uno de ellos, propio profeta de ellos: Los Cretenses, siempre mentirosos, malas bestias, vientres perezosos.

One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Das ist die Realität, darum hört nicht auf, sie streng zurechtzuweisen, damit sie im Glauben wieder gesund werden;

Este testimonio es verdadero: por tanto, repréndelos duramente, para que sean sanos en la fe,

und jüdische Märchenfiguren (Fabeln) und Gebote, die von den Menschen stammen und nichts mit dem Glauben zu tun haben (von der Wahrheit abwenden), sollt ihr einfach ignorieren.

No atendiendo á fábulas judaicas, y á mandamientos de hombres que se apartan de la verdad.

Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.

Den Reinen sind alle Dinge rein. Den Unreinen (Befleckten) und Ungläubigen aber, denen ist nichts heilig (rein), sondern sowohl ihr Sinn als auch ihr Gewissen ist befleckt.

Todas las cosas son limpias á los limpios; mas á los contaminados é infieles nada es limpio: antes su alma y conciencia están contaminadas.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

Sie behaupten öffentlich, Gott zu kennen, doch an ihrer Lebensweise ist ihre Gottlosigkeit gut zu erkennen, denn für jedes gute Werk sind sie nicht geeignet, noch gehorsam; sie sind verabscheuungswürdig.

Profésanse conocer á Dios; mas con los hechos lo niegan, siendo abominables y rebeldes, reprobados para toda buena obra.

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
