Paolo, servitore di Dio e apostolo di Gesù Cristo per la fede degli eletti di Dio e la conoscenza della verità che è secondo pietà,

PABLO, siervo de Dios, y apóstol de Jesucristo, según la fe de los escogidos de Dios, y el conocimiento de la verdad que es según la piedad,

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

nella speranza della vita eterna la quale Iddio, che non può mentire, promise avanti i secoli,

Para la esperanza de la vida eterna, la cual Dios, que no puede mentir, prometió antes de los tiempos de los siglos,

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began;

manifestando poi nei suoi propri tempi la sua parola mediante la predicazione che è stata a me affidata per mandato di Dio, nostro Salvatore,

Y manifestó á sus tiempos su palabra por la predicación, que me es á mí encomendada por mandamiento de nuestro Salvador Dios;

But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,

a Tito, mio vero figliuolo secondo la fede che ci è comune, grazia e pace da Dio Padre e da Cristo Gesù, nostro Salvatore.

A Tito, verdadero hijo en la común fe: Gracia, misericordia, y paz de Dios Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo Salvador nuestro.

To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Per questa ragione t’ho lasciato in Creta: perché tu dia ordine alle cose che rimangono a fare, e costituisca degli anziani per ogni città, come t’ho ordinato;

Por esta causa te dejé en Creta, para que corrigieses lo que falta, y pusieses ancianos por las villas, así como yo te mandé:

For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—

quando si trovi chi sia irreprensibile, marito d’una sola moglie, avente figliuoli fedeli, che non sieno accusati di dissolutezza né insubordinati.

El que fuere sin crimen, marido de una mujer, que tenga hijos fieles que no estén acusados de disolución, ó contumaces.

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.

Poiché il vescovo bisogna che sia irreprensibile, come economo di Dio; non arrogante, non iracondo, non dedito al vino, non manesco, non cupido di disonesto guadagno,

Porque es menester que el obispo sea sin crimen, como dispensador de Dios; no soberbio, no iracundo, no amador del vino, no heridor, no codicioso de torpes ganancias;

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

ma ospitale, amante del bene, assennato, giusto, santo, temperante,

Sino hospedador, amador de lo bueno, templado, justo, santo, continente;

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,

attaccato alla fedel Parola quale gli è stata insegnata, onde sia capace d’esortare nella sana dottrina e di convincere i contradittori.

Retenedor de la fiel palabra que es conforme á la doctrina: para que también pueda exhortar con sana doctrina, y convencer á los que contradijeren.

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.

Poiché vi son molti ribelli, cianciatori e seduttori di menti, specialmente fra quelli della circoncisione, ai quali bisogna turare la bocca;

Porque hay aún muchos contumaces, habladores de vanidades, y engañadores de las almas, mayormente los que son de la circuncisión,

For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

uomini che sovvertono le case intere, insegnando cose che non dovrebbero, per amor di disonesto guadagno.

A los cuales es preciso tapar la boca; que trastornan casas enteras; enseñando lo que no conviene, por torpe ganancia.

Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

Uno dei loro, un loro proprio profeta, disse: “I Cretesi son sempre bugiardi, male bestie, ventri pigri”.

Dijo uno de ellos, propio profeta de ellos: Los Cretenses, siempre mentirosos, malas bestias, vientres perezosos.

One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

Questa testimonianza è verace. Riprendili perciò severamente, affinché siano sani nella fede,

Este testimonio es verdadero: por tanto, repréndelos duramente, para que sean sanos en la fe,

This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

non dando retta a favole giudaiche né a comandamenti d’uomini che voltan le spalle alla verità.

No atendiendo á fábulas judaicas, y á mandamientos de hombres que se apartan de la verdad.

Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.

Tutto è puro per quelli che son puri; ma per i contaminati ed increduli niente è puro; anzi, tanto la mente che la coscienza loro son contaminate.

Todas las cosas son limpias á los limpios; mas á los contaminados é infieles nada es limpio: antes su alma y conciencia están contaminadas.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

Fanno professione di conoscere Iddio; ma lo rinnegano con le loro opere, essendo abominevoli, e ribelli, e incapaci di qualsiasi opera buona.

Profésanse conocer á Dios; mas con los hechos lo niegan, siendo abominables y rebeldes, reprobados para toda buena obra.

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
