EMPERO tú, habla lo que conviene á la sana doctrina:
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
But say the things which fit sound doctrine,
den Alten, daß sie nuchtern seien, ehrbar, zuchtig, gesund im Glauben, in der Liebe, in der Geduld;
Que los viejos sean templados, graves, prudentes, sanos en la fe, en la caridad, en la paciencia.
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
that older men should be temperate, sensible, sober minded, sound in faith, in love, and in perseverance,
den alten Weibern desselbigengleichen, daß sie sich stellen, wie den Heiligen ziemet, nicht Lasterinnen seien, nicht Weinsauferinnen, gute Lehrerinnen,
Las viejas, asimismo, se distingan en un porte santo; no calumniadoras, no dadas á mucho vino, maestras de honestidad:
