Erinnere sie, daß sie den Fursten und der Obrigkeit untertan und gehorsam seien, zu allem guten Werk bereit seien,

AMONÉSTALES que se sujeten á los príncipes y potestades, que obedezcan, que estén prontos á toda buena obra.

Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

niemand lastern, nicht hadern, gelinde seien, alle Sanftmutigkeit beweisen gegen alle Menschen.

Que á nadie infamen, que no sean pendencieros, sino modestos, mostrando toda mansedumbre para con todos los hombres.

To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

Denn wir waren auch weiland unweise, ungehorsam, irrig, dienend den Lusten und mancherlei Wollusten und wandelten in Bosheit und Neid und hasseten uns untereinander.

Porque también éramos nosotros necios en otro tiempo, rebeldes, extraviados, sirviendo á concupiscencias y deleites diversos, viviendo en malicia y en envidia, aborrecibles, aborreciendo los unos á los otros.

Da aber erschien die Freundlichkeit und Leutseligkeit Gottes, unsers Heilandes,

Mas cuando se manifestó la bondad de Dios nuestro Salvador, y su amor para con los hombres,

nicht urn der Werke willen der Gerechtigkeit, die wir getan hatten, sondern nach seiner Barmherzigkeit machte er uns selig durch das Bad der Wiedergeburt und Erneuerung des Heiligen Geistes,

No por obras de justicia que nosotros habíamos hecho, mas por su misericordia nos salvó, por el lavacro de la regeneración, y de la renovación del Espíritu Santo;

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

El cual derramó en nosotros abundantemente por Jesucristo nuestro Salvador,

auf dafi wir durch desselbigen Gnade gerecht und Erben seien des ewigen Lebens nach der Hoffnung.

Para que, justificados por su gracia, seamos hechos herederos según la esperanza de la vida eterna.

Das ist je gewifilich wahr. Solches will ich, dafi du test lehrest, auf daß die, so an Gott glaubig sind worden, in einem Stand guter Werke funden werden. Solches ist gut und nütze den Menschen.

Palabra fiel, y estas cosas quiero que afirmes, para que los que creen á Dios procuren gobernarse en buenas obras. Estas cosas son buenas y útiles á los hombres.

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Der torichten Fragen aber, der Geschlechtsregister, des Zankes und Streites uber dem Gesetz entschlage dich; denn sie sind unnütz und eitel.

Mas las cuestiones necias, y genealogías, y contenciones, y debates acerca de la ley, evita; porque son sin provecho y vanas.

But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Einen ketzerischen Menschen meide, wenn er einmal und abermal ermahnet ist,

Rehusa hombre hereje, después de una y otra amonestación;

A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

Avoid a factious man after a first and second warning,

und wisse, daß ein solcher verkehrt ist und sundiget, als der sich selbst verurteilet hat.

Estando cierto que el tal es trastornado, y peca, siendo condenado de su propio juicio.

Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Wenn ich zu dir senden werde Artemas Oder Tychikus, so komm eilend zu mirgen Nikopolis; denn daselbst habe ich beschlossen, den Winter zu bleiben.

Cuando enviare á ti á Artemas, ó á Tichîco, procura venir á mí, á Nicópolis: porque allí he determinado invernar.

When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.

Zenas, den Schriftgelehrten, und Apollos fertige ab mit Fleift, auf daß ihnen nichts gebreche.

A Zenas doctor de la ley, y á Apolos, envía delante, procurando que nada les falte.

Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them.

Laft aber auch die Unsern lernen, daß sie im Stand guter Werke sich finden lassen, wo man ihrer bedarf, auf daß sie nicht unfruchtbar seien:

Y aprendan asimismo los nuestros á gobernarse en buenas obras para los usos necesarios, para que no sean sin fruto.

And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

Let our people also learn to maintain good works to meet necessary needs, that they may not be unfruitful.

Es gruften dich alle, die mit mirsind. Grufte alle, die uns lieben im Glauben. Die Gnade sei mit euch alien! Amen.
