¡Qué necedad es pedir algo a los ídolos! Las predicciones de los adivinos son un montón de mentiras necias; ¿qué consuelo hay en promesas que no llegan a cumplirse? Judá e Israel han sido engañados por ellos y por eso ahora vagan como ovejas perdidas; todos las atacan porque no tienen pastor que las defienda.
Porque las imágenes han hablado vanidad, y los adivinos han visto mentira, y han hablado sueños vanos, en vano consuelan: por lo cual se fueron ellos como ovejas, fueron humillados porque no tuvieron pastor.
For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie; and they have told false dreams. They comfort in vain. Therefore they go their way like sheep. They are oppressed, because there is no shepherd.
