1Pídanle a Yahvé lluvia en primavera. Yahvé es quien hace las nubes de tormenta; él les enviará aguaceros y a cada uno le dará plantas en el campo.
2Porque los ídolos domésticos dicen puras tonterías y los adivinos ven mentiras; cuentan sueños falsos y dan consuelos que no sirven de nada. Por eso la gente anda perdida como ovejas; sufren porque no tienen quien los guíe.
3“Mi enojo se ha encendido contra los pastores, y castigaré a esos líderes; porque el Señor de los Ejércitos cuida de su rebaño, la casa de Judá, y los convertirá en su caballo de honor en el combate.
4De Judá saldrá la piedra angular, de él la estaca de la tienda, de él el arco de guerra y de él todos los gobernantes.
5Juntos serán como valientes que en la batalla pisotean el lodo de las calles. Pelearán porque Yahvé estará con ellos, y dejarán en vergüenza a los jinetes enemigos.
6Yo fortaleceré a la casa de Judá y salvaré a la casa de José. Los haré volver porque les tengo compasión. Será como si nunca los hubiera rechazado, porque yo soy Yahvé, su Dios, y les responderé.
7Los de Efraín serán como valientes guerreros, y se alegrarán como si hubieran bebido vino. Sus hijos lo verán y se llenarán de gozo; su corazón se alegrará en Yahvé.
8Les haré una señal para reunirlos, porque ya los he rescatado; y volverán a ser tan numerosos como antes.
9Aunque los dispersé entre las naciones, en tierras lejanas se acordarán de mí; sobrevivirán junto con sus hijos y regresarán.
10Los traeré de vuelta de la tierra de Egipto y los reuniré de Asiria. Los llevaré a las tierras de Galaad y del Líbano, hasta que no haya espacio para nadie más.
11Cruzarán por el mar de la angustia, pero Dios golpeará las olas del mar y las profundidades del Nilo se secarán. El orgullo de Asiria será humillado y el poder de Egipto llegará a su fin.
12Yo los fortaleceré en Yahvé, y ellos caminarán en su nombre”, dice Yahvé.

1PEDID á Jehová lluvia en la sazón tardía: Jehová hará relámpagos, y os dará lluvia abundante, y hierba en el campo á cada uno.
2Porque las imágenes han hablado vanidad, y los adivinos han visto mentira, y han hablado sueños vanos, en vano consuelan: por lo cual se fueron ellos como ovejas, fueron humillados porque no tuvieron pastor.
3Contra los pastores se ha encendido mi enojo, y castigaré los machos de cabrío: mas Jehová de los ejércitos visitará su rebaño, la casa de Judá, y tornarálos como su caballo de honor en la guerra.
4De él saldrá el ángulo, de él la clavija, de él el arco de la guerra, de él también todo apremiador.
5Y serán como valientes, que en la batalla pisan al enemigo en el lodo de las calles; y pelearán, porque Jehová será con ellos; y los que cabalgan en caballos serán avergonzados.
6Porque yo fortificaré la casa de Judá, y guardaré la casa de José; y harélos volver, porque de ellos tendré piedad; y serán como si no los hubiera desechado; porque yo soy Jehová su Dios, que los oiré.
7Y será Ephraim como valiente, y alegraráse su corazón como de vino: sus hijos también verán y se alegrarán; su corazón se gozará en Jehová.
8Yo les silbaré y los juntaré, porque los he redimido; y serán multiplicados como fueron multiplicados.
9Bien que los sembraré entre los pueblos, aun en lejanos países se acordarán de mí; y vivirán con sus hijos, y tornarán.
10Porque yo los tornaré de la tierra de Egipto, y los recogeré de la Asiria; y traerélos á la tierra de Galaad y del Líbano, y no les bastará.
11Y la tribulación pasará por la mar, y en la mar herirá las ondas, y se secarán todas las honduras del río: y la soberbia del Assur será derribada, y se perderá el cetro de Egipto.
12Y yo los fortificaré en Jehová, y caminarán en su nombre, dice Jehová.

1Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
2For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
3Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
4Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.
5And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.
6And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.
7And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.
8I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
9And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.
10I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.
11And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
12And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD.
World English Bible
1Ask of the LORD rain in the spring time, the LORD who makes storm clouds, and he gives rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.
2For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie; and they have told false dreams. They comfort in vain. Therefore they go their way like sheep. They are oppressed, because there is no shepherd.
3My anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the male goats, for the LORD of Armies has visited his flock, the house of Judah, and will make them as his majestic horse in the battle.
4From him will come the cornerstone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler together.
5They will be as mighty men, treading down muddy streets in the battle. They will fight, because the LORD is with them. The riders on horses will be confounded.
6“I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back, for I have mercy on them. They will be as though I had not cast them off, for I am the LORD their God, and I will hear them.
7Ephraim will be like a mighty man, and their heart will rejoice as through wine. Yes, their children will see it and rejoice. Their heart will be glad in the LORD.
8I will signal for them and gather them, for I have redeemed them. They will increase as they were before.
9I will sow them among the peoples. They will remember me in far countries. They will live with their children and will return.
10I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria. I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and there won’t be room enough for them.
11He will pass through the sea of affliction, and will strike the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile will dry up; and the pride of Assyria will be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt will depart.
12I will strengthen them in the LORD. They will walk up and down in his name,” says the LORD.
