1En el mes octavo del segundo año del reinado de Darío, el Señor le habló a Zacarías hijo de Berequías y nieto de Idó. El Señor Todopoderoso le pidió que les diera a los israelitas este mensaje:
2«Yo, que soy el Señor, estuve muy enojado con los antepasados de ustedes.
3Pero si ustedes vuelven a serme fieles devotos, entonces yo volveré a estar con ustedes en todo momento. Lo afirmo yo, el Señor Todopoderoso.
4»¡No sean como sus antepasados! A ellos, los primeros profetas les rogaron en vano que dejaran de actuar de forma tan malvada. “¡Vamos, vuélvanse de nuevo en fieles devotos del Señor”, les decían en nombre del Señor. Pero no. Ellos no quisieron seguir la exhortación; no les hicieron caso a sus palabras.
5»Hace tiempo ya que murieron sus antepasados, y también los profetas antiguos.
6Pero se cumplió en ellos todo lo que les advertí por medio de mis profetas. Sí, el castigo anunciado cayó sobre ellos. Entonces al fin se arrepintieron. “Hemos recibido del Señor Todopoderoso lo que merecían nuestras malas acciones”, dijeron. “El Señor hizo lo que nos había advertido que haría”».
7En el día veinticuatro del mes onceavo, el mes llamado sebat, del segundo año del reinado de Darío, el Señor le habló a Zacarías hijo de Berequías y nieto de Idó. Lo hizo con estas palabras.
8Vi en la noche a un hombre montado sobre un caballo alazán que estaba entre los mirtos, en medio de un valle. Detrás de él había otros caballos: alazanes, bayos y blancos, cada uno con su jinete.
9Un ángel se paró a mi lado, y yo le pregunté: «Señor, ¿para qué son todos estos caballos?». El ángel me respondió: «Te explicaré».
10Entonces el jinete del caballo alazán, que estaba entre los mirtos, me dijo: «A estos caballos el Señor los ha enviado a recorrer la tierra».
11Entonces los demás jinetes informaron al ángel del Señor: «Hemos recorrido toda la tierra, y en todo lugar hay paz y prosperidad».
12Después de oír esto, el ángel del Señor dijo en oración: «Señor Todopoderoso, durante setenta años has castigado mucho a Jerusalén y las ciudades de Judá. ¿Cuánto tiempo más tendrá que pasar antes de que les muestres tu misericordia nuevamente?».
13Y el Señor le respondió con palabras alentadoras y buenas al ángel que estaba parado a mi lado.
14Entonces el ángel me dijo: «Proclama este mensaje del Señor Todopoderoso: “Amo mucho a Jerusalén, es tan inmenso el amor que le tengo, que hasta siento celos por ella.
15Estoy encolerizado con las naciones paganas que viven tan tranquilas, porque se aprovecharon de que estuve enojado un poco con mi pueblo, y estas naciones aprovecharon para afligir a mi pueblo mucho más de lo que debían.
16Por lo tanto, así digo yo, el Señor: Volveré a tener misericordia de Jerusalén, y haré que mi templo sea reedificado. Lo afirmo yo, el Señor Todopoderoso”».
17El ángel me dijo que también diera este mensaje de parte del Señor Todopoderoso: «Nuevamente las ciudades de Israel volverán a rebosar de prosperidad, y el Señor consolará otra vez a Jerusalén, la bendecirá y vivirá en ella».
18Luego levanté la vista, y vi cuatro cuernos.
19Entonces le pregunté al ángel que hablaba conmigo: «¿Qué significan estos cuernos?». Y él me respondió: «Representan las cuatro potencias que han esparcido a Judá, a Israel y a Jerusalén».
20Entonces el Señor me mostró cuatro herreros.
21Y le pregunté: «¿Qué han venido a hacer estos hombres?». El ángel me respondió: «Han venido a derribar los cuernos que dispersaron a Judá, y para acabar por completo con su poder, por lo que le hicieron a Judá».

1EN el mes octavo, en el año segundo de Darío, fué palabra de Jehová á Zacarías profeta, hijo de Berechîas, hijo de Iddo, diciendo:
2Enojóse Jehová con ira contra vuestros padres.
3Les dirás pues: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Volveos á mí, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y yo me volveré á vosotros, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos.
4No seáis como vuestros padres, á los cuales dieron voces los primeros profetas, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Volveos ahora de vuestros malos caminos, y de vuestras malas obras: y no atendieron, ni me escucharon, dice Jehová.
5Vuestros padres, ¿dónde están? y los profetas ¿han de vivir para siempre?
6Empero mis palabras y mis ordenanzas que mandé á mis siervos los profetas, ¿no alcanzaron á vuestros padres? Por eso se volvieron ellos y dijeron: Como Jehová de los ejércitos pensó tratarnos conforme á nuestros caminos, y conforme á nuestras obras, así lo hizo con nosotros.
7A los veinticuatro del mes undécimo, que es el mes de Sebath, en el año segundo de Darío, fué palabra de Jehová á Zacarías profeta, hijo de Berechîas, hijo de Iddo, diciendo:
8Vi de noche, y he aquí un varón que cabalgaba sobre un caballo bermejo, el cual estaba entre los mirtos que había en la hondura; y detrás de él había caballos bermejos, overos, y blancos.
9Entonces dije: ¿Qué son éstos, señor mío? Y díjome el ángel que hablaba conmigo: Yo te enseñaré qué son éstos.
10Y aquel varón que estaba entre los mirtos respondió, y dijo: Estos son los que Jehová ha enviado á recorrer la tierra.
11Y ellos hablaron á aquel ángel de Jehová que estaba entre los mirtos, y dijeron: Hemos recorrido la tierra, y he aquí, toda la tierra está reposada y quieta.
12Y respondió el ángel de Jehová, y dijo: Oh Jehová de los ejércitos, ¿hasta cuándo no tendrás piedad de Jerusalem, y de las ciudades de Judá, con las cuales has estado airado por espacio de setenta años?
13Y Jehová respondió buenas palabras, palabras consolatorias á aquel ángel que hablaba conmigo.
14Y díjome el ángel que hablaba conmigo: Clama diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Celé á Jerusalem y á Sión con gran celo:
15Y con grande enojo estoy airado contra las gentes que están reposadas; porque yo estaba enojado un poco, y ellos ayudaron para el mal.
16Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová: Yo me he tornado á Jerusalem con miseraciones; en ella será edificada mi casa, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y la plomada será tendida sobre Jerusalem.
17Clama aún, diciendo: Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: Aun serán ensanchadas mis ciudades por la abundancia del bien; y aun consolará Jehová á Sión, y escogerá todavía á Jerusalem.
18Después alcé mis ojos, y miré, y he aquí cuatro cuernos.
19Y dije al ángel que hablaba conmigo: ¿Qué son éstos? Y respondióme: Estos son los cuernos que aventaron á Judá, á Israel, y á Jerusalem.
20Mostróme luego Jehová cuatro carpinteros.
21Y yo dije: ¿Qué vienen éstos á hacer? Y respondióme, diciendo: Estos son los cuernos que aventaron á Judá, tanto que ninguno alzó su cabeza; mas éstos han venido para hacerlos temblar, para derribar los cuernos de las gentes, que alzaron el cuerno sobre la tierra de Judá para aventarla.

1In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
2The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
3Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.
4Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD.
5Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?
6But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
7Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
8I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
9Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
10And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
11And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
12Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
13And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
14So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
15And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
16Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
17Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
18Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
19And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
20And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.
21Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.

1In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the LORD’s word came to the prophet Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, saying,
2“The LORD was very displeased with your fathers.
3Therefore tell them, the LORD of Armies says: ‘Return to me,’ says the LORD of Armies, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD of Armies.
4Don’t you be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying: The LORD of Armies says, ‘Return now from your evil ways and from your evil doings;’ but they didn’t hear nor listen to me, says the LORD.
5Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?
6But my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, didn’t they overtake your fathers? “Then they repented and said, ‘Just as the LORD of Armies determined to do to us, according to our ways and according to our practices, so he has dealt with us.’”
7On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the LORD’s word came to the prophet Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, saying,
8“I had a vision in the night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in a ravine; and behind him there were red, brown, and white horses.
9Then I asked, ‘My lord, what are these?’” The angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what these are.”
10The man who stood among the myrtle trees answered, “They are the ones the LORD has sent to go back and forth through the earth.”
11They reported to the LORD’s angel who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked back and forth through the earth, and behold, all the earth is at rest and in peace.”
12Then the LORD’s angel replied, “O LORD of Armies, how long will you not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which you have had indignation these seventy years?”
13The LORD answered the angel who talked with me with kind and comforting words.
14So the angel who talked with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘The LORD of Armies says: “I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
15I am very angry with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, but they added to the calamity.”
16Therefore the LORD says: “I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy. My house shall be built in it,” says the LORD of Armies, “and a line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.”’
17“Proclaim further, saying, ‘The LORD of Armies says: “My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.”’”
18I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, four horns.
19I asked the angel who talked with me, “What are these?” He answered me, “These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”
20The LORD showed me four craftsmen.
21Then I asked, “What are these coming to do?” He said, “These are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head; but these have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
