ADUNATEVI come della stoppia; adunatevi, o nazione rincrescevole.

CONGREGAOS y meditad, gente no amable,

Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;

Avanti che il decreto partorisca, e il giorno sia passato a guisa di pula; avanti che venga sopra voi l'ardor dell'ira del Signore; avanti che venga sopra voi il giorno dell'ira del Signore;

Antes que pára el decreto, y el día se pase como el tamo; antes que venga sobre vosotros el furor de la ira de Jehová, antes que el día de la ira de Jehová venga sobre vosotros.

Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’s anger come upon you.

voi, tutti i mansueti del paese, che fate ciò ch'egli ordina, cercate il Signore; cercate giustizia, procacciate mansuetudine; forse sarete nascosti nel giorno dell'ira del Signore.

Buscad á Jehová todos los humildes de la tierra, que pusisteis en obra su juicio; buscad justicia, buscad mansedumbre: quizás seréis guardados en el día del enojo de Jehová.

Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger.

Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the LORD’s anger.

Perciocchè Gaza sarà abbandonata, ed Aschelon sarà messa in desolazione; Asdod sarà scacciata in pien mezzodì, ed Ecron sarà diradicato.

Porque Gaza será desamparada, y Ascalón asolada: saquearán á Asdod en el medio día, y Ecrón será desarraigada.

For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.

Guai a quelli che abitano nella contrada della marine, alla nazione de' Cheretei! la parola del Signore è contro a voi, o Cananei, o paese de' Filistei; ed io ti distruggerò, talchè in te non abiterà più alcuno.

¡Ay de los que moran á la parte de la mar, de la gente de Cheretim! La palabra de Jehová es contra vosotros, oh Canaán, tierra de Palestinos, que te haré destruir hasta no quedar morador.

Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.

E la contrada della marina sarà tutta mandre, e capanne di pastori, e stabbi di gregge.

Y será la parte de la mar por moradas de cabañas de pastores, y corrales de ovejas.

And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.

E quella contrada sarà per lo rimanente della casa di Giuda; essi pastureranno in que' luoghi; la sera giaceranno nelle case di Aschelon; perciocchè il Signore Iddio loro li visiterà, e li ritrarrà di cattività.

Y será aquella parte para el resto de la casa de Judá; allí apacentarán: en las casas de Ascalón dormirán á la noche; porque Jehová su Dios los visitará, y tornará sus cautivos.

And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.

The coast will be for the remnant of the house of Judah. They will find pasture. In the houses of Ashkelon, they will lie down in the evening, for the LORD, their God, will visit them and restore them.

Io ho udito il vituperio di Moab, e gli oltraggi de' figliuoli di Ammon, i quali han fatto vituperio al mio popolo, e si sono ingranditi sopra i lor confini.

Yo he oído las afrentas de Moab, y los denuestos de los hijos de Ammón con que deshonraron á mi pueblo, y se engrandecieron sobre su término.

Perciò, come io vivo, dice il Signor degli eserciti, l'Iddio d'Israele, Moab sarà come Sodoma, e i figliuoli di Ammon come Gomorra: un luogo abbandonato alle lappole, e una salina, e un deserto in perpetuo; il rimanente del mio popolo li prederà, e il resto della mia nazione li possederà.

Por tanto, vivo yo, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, que Moab será como Sodoma, y los hijos de Ammón como Gomorra; campo de ortigas, y mina de sal, y asolamiento perpetuo: el resto de mi pueblo los saqueará, y el resto de mi gente los heredará.

Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.

Questo avverrà loro per la loro alterezza; perciocchè han fatto vituperio al popolo del Signor degli eserciti, e si sono elevati contro a lui.

Esto les vendrá por su soberbia, porque afrentaron, y se engrandecieron contra el pueblo de Jehová de los ejércitos.

Il Signore sarà terribile contro a loro; perciocchè egli farà venir meno tutti gl'iddii della terra; e ciascuno dal suo luogo l'adorerà, tutte le isole delle genti.

Terrible será Jehová contra ellos, porque enervará á todos los dioses de la tierra; y cada uno desde su lugar se inclinará á él, todas las islas de las gentes.

The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

Anche voi, Etiopi, sarete uccisi con la mia spada.

Egli stenderà eziandio le sua mano sopra il Settentrione, e distruggerà Assur, e metterà Ninive in desolazione, in luogo arido, come un deserto.

E le gregge, tutte le bestie delle genti giaceranno nel mezzo di lei; e il pellicano, e la civetta albergheranno ne' frontispizii de' lor portali; canteranno con la lor voce sopra le finestre; desolazione sarà nelle soglie; perciocchè quella sarà spogliata de' suoi cedri.

Y rebaños de ganado harán en ella majada, todas las bestias de las gentes; el onocrótalo también y el erizo dormirán en sus umbrales: su voz cantará en las ventanas; asolación será en las puertas, porque su enmaderamiento de cedro será descubierto.

And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.

Herds will lie down in the middle of her, all kinds of animals. Both the pelican and the porcupine will lodge in its capitals. Their calls will echo through the windows. Desolation will be in the thresholds, for he has laid bare the cedar beams.

Tal sarà la città trionfante, che abitava in sicurtà, che diceva nel cuor suo: Io son dessa, e non vi è altri che me. Come è ella stata ridotta in desolazione, in ricetto di bestie! chiunque passerà presso di essa zufolerà, e moverà la mano.

Esta es la ciudad alegre que estaba confiada, la que decía en su corazón: Yo, y no más. ¡Cómo fué en asolamiento, en cama de bestias! Cualquiera que pasare junto á ella silbará, meneará su mano.

This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.

This is the joyous city that lived carelessly, that said in her heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me.” How she has become a desolation, a place for animals to lie down in! Everyone who passes by her will hiss and shake their fists.
