1¡Reúnanse, estén atentos, gente desvergonzada!
2Háganlo cuando aún hay tiempo, antes de que comience el juicio de Dios y ustedes desaparezcan como si fueran paja llevada por el viento; antes de que caiga sobre ustedes la gran cólera del Señor y el día terrible de su castigo comience.
3Ustedes, los humildes del país, los que aun procuran vivir de acuerdo a las instrucciones del Señor, practiquen la justicia y vivan con humildad. Quizá así puedan ser salvados el día en que el Señor desate su castigo.
4Gaza, Ascalón, Asdod y Ecrón, ciudades filisteas, también serán castigadas y dejadas en completa desolación.
5¡Pobre de ti, Filistea, que vives en la costa y en la tierra de Canaán, porque el castigo del Señor también te alcanzará, de modo que serás destruida y ninguno de tus habitantes quedará con vida!
6Las tierras de la costa se convertirán en praderas, en campo de pastores y de rediles de ovejas.
7Allí será reubicado el pequeño grupo de sobrevivientes de Judá. Reposarán en las casas abandonadas de Ascalón. Y es que el Señor Dios visitará a su pueblo con su misericordia y nuevamente restaurará su prosperidad.
8«He oído las burlas de Moab y de Amón, que insultaban a mi pueblo e invadían su territorio.
9Por lo tanto, el Señor Todopoderoso ha jurado que Moab y Amón serán destruidas como lo fueron Sodoma y Gomorra, y sus lugares quedarán tan devastados que parecerán campos de espinales, minas de sal donde nada crece y sólo reina eterna desolación. Los que queden de mi pueblo les quitarán sus bienes y se apoderarán de su tierra».
10Este es su castigo por la gran soberbia que mostraron contra mi pueblo, porque se han burlado del pueblo del Señor Todopoderoso.
11El Señor les hará cosas terribles. Destruirá todos los dioses de las potencias extranjeras, y luego todos los habitantes de la tierra, hasta los que viven muy lejos, rendirán homenaje al Señor, cada uno en su propio país.
12«También ustedes, los de Etiopía, serán muertos por el ataque poderoso del Señor».
13El Señor también castigará al país del norte; sí, él destruirá a Asiria y hará que Nínive, su gran capital, quede convertida en tierra desolada como si fuera un desierto.
14La que fuera ciudad orgullosa se convertirá en tierra de pastoreo para ovejas. Toda clase de animales salvajes pondrán ahí su guarida. El erizo tendrá allí su madriguera. Los buitres y los búhos vivirán entre las ruinas de los palacios, cantando desde las ventanas desvencijadas. Los cuervos graznarán desde sus puertas carcomidas. Todo su entablado de cedro quedará a la intemperie, a merced del viento.
15Este será el destino de la ciudad grande y próspera que vivió tan segura y que decía de sí misma: «En todo el mundo no hay ciudad tan grande como yo». Pero ahora, vean cómo ha quedado convertida en un lugar de completa ruina, como guarida de animales. Todo el que pase por ella se burlará o meneará la cabeza sin creer lo que ve.

1CONGREGAOS y meditad, gente no amable,
2Antes que pára el decreto, y el día se pase como el tamo; antes que venga sobre vosotros el furor de la ira de Jehová, antes que el día de la ira de Jehová venga sobre vosotros.
3Buscad á Jehová todos los humildes de la tierra, que pusisteis en obra su juicio; buscad justicia, buscad mansedumbre: quizás seréis guardados en el día del enojo de Jehová.
4Porque Gaza será desamparada, y Ascalón asolada: saquearán á Asdod en el medio día, y Ecrón será desarraigada.
5¡Ay de los que moran á la parte de la mar, de la gente de Cheretim! La palabra de Jehová es contra vosotros, oh Canaán, tierra de Palestinos, que te haré destruir hasta no quedar morador.
6Y será la parte de la mar por moradas de cabañas de pastores, y corrales de ovejas.
7Y será aquella parte para el resto de la casa de Judá; allí apacentarán: en las casas de Ascalón dormirán á la noche; porque Jehová su Dios los visitará, y tornará sus cautivos.
8Yo he oído las afrentas de Moab, y los denuestos de los hijos de Ammón con que deshonraron á mi pueblo, y se engrandecieron sobre su término.
9Por tanto, vivo yo, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, que Moab será como Sodoma, y los hijos de Ammón como Gomorra; campo de ortigas, y mina de sal, y asolamiento perpetuo: el resto de mi pueblo los saqueará, y el resto de mi gente los heredará.
10Esto les vendrá por su soberbia, porque afrentaron, y se engrandecieron contra el pueblo de Jehová de los ejércitos.
11Terrible será Jehová contra ellos, porque enervará á todos los dioses de la tierra; y cada uno desde su lugar se inclinará á él, todas las islas de las gentes.
12Vosotros también los de Etiopía seréis muertos con mi espada.
13Y extenderá su mano sobre el aquilón, y destruirá al Assur, y pondrá á Nínive en asolamiento, y en secadal como un desierto.
14Y rebaños de ganado harán en ella majada, todas las bestias de las gentes; el onocrótalo también y el erizo dormirán en sus umbrales: su voz cantará en las ventanas; asolación será en las puertas, porque su enmaderamiento de cedro será descubierto.
15Esta es la ciudad alegre que estaba confiada, la que decía en su corazón: Yo, y no más. ¡Cómo fué en asolamiento, en cama de bestias! Cualquiera que pasare junto á ella silbará, meneará su mano.

1Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;
2Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’s anger come upon you.
3Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger.
4For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
5Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
6And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
7And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
8I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.
9Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.
10This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.
11The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.
12Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.
13And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.
14And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.
15This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.

1Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, you nation that has no shame,
2before the appointed time when the day passes as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD comes on you, before the day of the LORD’s anger comes on you.
3Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the LORD’s anger.
4For Gaza will be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation. They will drive out Ashdod at noonday, and Ekron will be rooted up.
5Woe to the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! The LORD’s word is against you, Canaan, the land of the Philistines. I will destroy you until there is no inhabitant.

10This they will have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of Armies.
11The LORD will be awesome to them, for he will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship him, everyone from his place, even all the shores of the nations.
12You Cushites also, you will be killed by my sword.
13He will stretch out his hand against the north, destroy Assyria, and will make Nineveh a desolation, as dry as the wilderness.
14Herds will lie down in the middle of her, all kinds of animals. Both the pelican and the porcupine will lodge in its capitals. Their calls will echo through the windows. Desolation will be in the thresholds, for he has laid bare the cedar beams.
15This is the joyous city that lived carelessly, that said in her heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me.” How she has become a desolation, a place for animals to lie down in! Everyone who passes by her will hiss and shake their fists.
