Efesios 2

En un tiempo ustedes estaban muertos en sus pecados y maldad,

Y DE ella recibisteis vosotros, que estabais muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados,

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins,

viviendo según los caminos del mundo, bajo el dominio del diablo, cuyo espíritu trabaja en aquellos que desobedecen a Dios.

En que en otro tiempo anduvisteis conforme á la condición de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora obra en los hijos de desobediencia:

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience.

Todos una vez fuimos así, y nuestra conducta estaba determinada por los deseos de nuestra naturaleza humana pecaminosa y nuestros malos pensamientos. Como todos los demás, en nuestra naturaleza éramos hijos de la ira.

Entre los cuales todos nosotros también vivimos en otro tiempo en los deseos de nuestra carne, haciendo la voluntad de la carne y de los pensamientos; y éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, también como los demás.

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

We also all once lived among them in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

Pero Dios, en su gran misericordia, por el maravilloso amor que tuvo por nosotros

Empero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por su mucho amor con que nos amó,

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,

incluso cuando estábamos muertos en nuestros pecados, nos ha resucitado junto a Cristo. ¡Creer en él los ha salvado!

Aun estando nosotros muertos en pecados, nos dió vida juntamente con Cristo; por gracia sois salvos;

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

Él levantó a Cristo, y en Cristo Jesús nos sentó con él en el cielo,

Y juntamente nos resucitó, y asimismo nos hizo sentar en los cielos con Cristo Jesús,

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

para demostrar por toda la eternidad el enorme alcance de su gracia, al mostrarnos su bondad a través de Cristo Jesús.

Para mostrar en los siglos venideros las abundantes riquezas de su gracia en su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús.

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus;

Porque ustedes han sido salvos por gracia, por la fe en él, y esto no por ustedes mismos, ¡es el regalo de Dios!

Porque por gracia sois salvos por la fe; y esto no de vosotros, pues es don de Dios:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

La salvación no depende del esfuerzo humano, así que no se enorgullezcan.

No por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

not of works, that no one would boast.

Somos el resultado de la obra de Dios, creados en Cristo para hacer el bien que Dios ya planeó para nosotros.

Porque somos hechura suya, criados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó para que anduviésemos en ellas.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

Así que ustedes, que son “extranjeros” humanamente hablando, llamados “incircuncisos” por los que son “circuncisos” (que es apenas un procedimiento realizado por seres humanos), necesitan recordar

Por tanto, acordaos que en otro tiempo vosotros los Gentiles en la carne, que erais llamados incircuncisión por la que se llama circuncisión, hecha con mano en la carne;

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

Therefore remember that once you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “uncircumcision” by that which is called “circumcision” (in the flesh, made by hands),

que una vez no tenían relación con Cristo. Ustedes estaban excluidos como extranjeros de ser ciudadanos de Israel, extraños respecto al pacto que Dios había prometido. No tenían esperanza y vivían en el mundo sin Dios.

Que en aquel tiempo estabais sin Cristo, alejados de la república de Israel, y extranjeros á los pactos de la promesa, sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

Pero ahora, En Cristo Jesús, ustedes que una vez estaban lejos, han sido acercados por la sangre de Cristo.

Mas ahora en Cristo Jesús, vosotros que en otro tiempo estabais lejos, habéis sido hechos cercanos por la sangre de Cristo.

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ.

Cristo es nuestra paz. Por su cuerpo él convirtió dos en uno solo, y rompió el muro de hostilidad que nos dividía,

Porque él es nuestra paz, que de ambos hizo uno, derribando la pared intermedia de separación;

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of separation,

liberándonos de la ley con sus requisitos y normas. Él lo hizo para crear en sí mismo a una nueva persona a partir de los dos y lograr la paz,

Dirimiendo en su carne las enemistades, la ley de los mandamientos en orden á ritos, para edificar en sí mismo los dos en un nuevo hombre, haciendo la paz,

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

having abolished in his flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace,

y así reconciliarlos por completo con Dios a través de la cruz como si fueran un solo cuerpo, habiendo destruido nuestra hostilidad unos por otros.

Y reconciliar por la cruz con Dios á ambos en un mismo cuerpo, matando en ella las enemistades.

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility through it.

Él vino y compartió la buena noticia de paz con los que estaban lejos y con los que estaban cerca,

Y vino, y anunció la paz á vosotros que estabais lejos, y á los que estaban cerca:

And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near.

porque por él ambos podemos tener acceso al Padre, por medio del mismo Espíritu.

Que por él los unos y los otros tenemos entrada por un mismo Espíritu al Padre.

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

Esto significa que ya ustedes no son extranjeros, sino conciudadanos del pueblo de Dios y pertenecen a la familia de Dios

Así que ya no sois extranjeros ni advenedizos, sino juntamente ciudadanos con los santos, y domésticos de Dios;

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God,

que está siendo edificada sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, del cual Cristo es la piedra angular.

Edificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo la principal piedra del ángulo Jesucristo mismo;

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;

En él toda la edificación está unida, creciendo para formar un santo Templo para el Señor.

En el cual, compaginado todo el edificio, va creciendo para ser un templo santo en el Señor:

In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;

Ustedes también están siendo edificados en él como un lugar para que habite Dios por el Espíritu.

En el cual vosotros también sois juntamente edificados, para morada de Dios en Espíritu.

In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
