In selbigen Tagen aber geschah es, daß vom Kaiser Augustus eine Vorschrift ausging, daß der ganze Erdkreis sich sollte schätzen lassen.

Y ACONTECIÓ en aquellos días que salió edicto de parte de Augusto César, que toda la tierra fuese empadronada.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

Und es gingen alle, sich schätzen zu lassen, jeder in seine eigene Stadt.

E iban todos para ser empadronados, cada uno á su ciudad.

Joseph aber ging auch hinauf aus Galiläa, aus der Stadt Nazareth nach Judäa in die Stadt Davids, welche Bethlehem heißt, weil er aus dem Haus und dem Geschlechte Davids war,

Um sich mit Maria, seinem verlobten Weibe, welche schwanger war, schätzen zu lassen.

Es geschah aber, als sie daselbst waren, daß die Tage erfüllt wurden, da sie gebären sollte.

Y aconteció que estando ellos allí, se cumplieron los días en que ella había de parir.

And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth.

Und sie gebar ihren erstgeborenen Sohn, und wickelte Ihn in Windeln und legte Ihn hin in die Krippe, weil sie keinen Platz in der Herberge hatten.

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Und es waren in selbiger Gegend Hirten auf dem Felde, die hüteten der Hut ihrer Herde bei Nacht.

Y había pastores en la misma tierra, que velaban y guardaban las vigilias de la noche sobre su ganado.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

Und siehe, des Herrn Engel stand bei ihnen, und die Herrlichkeit des Herrn umleuchtete sie; und sie fürchteten sich mit großer Furcht.

Y he aquí el ángel del Señor vino sobre ellos, y la claridad de Dios los cercó de resplandor; y tuvieron gran temor.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

Und der Engel sprach zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht ! Denn siehe, ich verkündige euch große Freude, die allem Volk sein wird.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Denn heute ist euch ein Heiland geboren, Welcher ist Christus der Herr, in der Stadt Davids.

Que os ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un Salvador, que es CRISTO el Señor.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Und das habt zum Zeichen: Ihr werdet finden ein Kindlein in Windeln gewickelt und in einer Krippe liegen.

Y esto os será por señal: hallaréis al niño envuelto en pañales, echado en un pesebre.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.”

Und plötzlich war bei dem Engel die Menge der himmlischen Heerscharen, die lobten Gott und sprachen:

Y repentinamente fué con el ángel una multitud de los ejércitos celestiales, que alababan á Dios, y decían:

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Ehre sei Gott in den Höhen und Frieden auf Erden, unter Menschen ein Wohlgefallen!

Gloria en las alturas á Dios, y en la tierra paz, buena voluntad para con los hombres.

Und es geschah, da die Engel von ihnen gen Himmel weggingen, sagten auch die Menschen, die Hirten, zueinander: Lasset uns hingehen nach Bethlehem und sehen die Geschichte, die dort geschehen ist, die der Herr uns hat kundgetan.

Y aconteció que como los ángeles se fueron de ellos al cielo, los pastores dijeron los unos á los otros: Pasemos pues hasta Bethlehem, y veamos esto que ha sucedido, que el Señor nos ha manifestado.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

When the angels went away from them into the sky, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem, now, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

Und sie kamen eilig und fanden beide, Maria und Joseph; dazu das Kindlein in der Krippe liegen.

Y vinieron apriesa, y hallaron á María, y á José, y al niño acostado en el pesebre.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

Als sie es aber gesehen, machten sie kund die Rede, die über dieses Kindlein zu ihnen war geredet worden.

Y viéndolo, hicieron notorio lo que les había sido dicho del niño.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

When they saw it, they publicized widely the saying which was spoken to them about this child.

Und alle, die es hörten, verwunderten sich über das, was die Hirten zu ihnen redeten.

Y todos los que oyeron, se maravillaron de lo que los pastores les decían.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

Maria aber behielt alle diese Reden und erwog sie in ihrem Herzen.

Wie im Gesetze des Herrn ist geschrieben: Jegliches Männliche, das den Mutterschoß auftut, soll dem Herrn geheiligt heißen.

Und das Opfer zu geben, nach dem, so im Gesetze des Herrn gesagt ist: Ein Paar Turteltauben, oder zwei junge Tauben.

Y para dar la ofrenda, conforme á lo que está dicho en la ley del Señor: un par de tórtolas, ó dos palominos.

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

Und siehe, da war ein Mensch in Jerusalem, mit Namen Simeon; und dieser Mensch war gerecht und gottesfürchtig, und wartete auf den Trost Israels; und der Heilige Geist war auf ihm.

Und ihm war vom Heiligen Geiste eine Antwort geworden, er werde den Tod nicht sehen, er hätte denn zuvor den Christ des Herrn gesehen.

Y había recibido respuesta del Espíritu Santo, que no vería la muerte antes que viese al Cristo del Señor.

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

Und er kam im Geiste in das Heiligtum; und als die Eltern des Knäblein Jesus hereinbrachten, auf daß sie für Ihn täten, wie man pflegt nach dem Gesetz;

Y vino por Espíritu al templo. Y cuando metieron al niño Jesús sus padres en el templo, para hacer por él conforme á la costumbre de la ley,

And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

Da nahm er Ihn in seine Arme, und segnete Gott und sprach:

Nun entlässest Du Deinen Knecht im Frieden, o Herr, nach Deiner Rede.

Ahora despides, Señor, á tu siervo, conforme á tu palabra, en paz;

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

“Now you are releasing your servant, Master, according to your word, in peace;

Denn meine Augen haben Dein Heil gesehen.

Porque han visto mis ojos tu salvación,

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

for my eyes have seen your salvation,

Welches Du Angesichts aller Völker bereitet hast,

La cual has aparejado en presencia de todos los pueblos;

Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;

Ein Licht zur Offenbarung für die Völkerschaften und zur Herrlichkeit Deines Volkes Israel.

Luz para ser revelada á los Gentiles, y la gloria de tu pueblo Israel.

A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of your people Israel.”

Und Sein Vater und Seine Mutter verwunderten sich über das, was von Ihm geredet wurde.

Y José y su madre estaban maravillados de las cosas que se decían de él.

And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

Und Simeon segnete sie und sprach zu Maria, Seiner Mutter: Siehe, Dieser liegt da zum Falle und zum Auferstehen vieler in Israel und zu einem Zeichen, dem widersprochen wird.

Y los bendijo Simeón, y dijo á su madre María: He aquí, éste es puesto para caída y para levantamiento de muchos en Israel; y para señal á la que será contradicho;

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.

Und ein Schwert wird dir durch deine Seele hindurchgehen, auf daß aus vielen Herzen die Gedanken offenbar werden.

Y una espada traspasará tu alma de ti misma, para que sean manifestados los pensamientos de muchos corazones.

(Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

Es war auch da Hannah, eine Prophetin, eine Tochter Phanuels, vom Stamm Asser, die war in viele Tage vorgerückt, und hatte sieben Jahre mit einem Manne gelebt nach ihrer Jungfrauschaft;

Estaba también allí Ana, profetisa, hija de Phanuel, de la tribu de Aser; la cual había venido en grande edad, y había vivido con su marido siete años desde su virginidad;

Y era viuda de hasta ochenta y cuatro años, que no se apartaba del templo, sirviendo de noche y de día con ayunos y oraciones.

And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.

Auch sie stand dabei zu der Stunde, lobpreiste den Herrn und redete von Ihm zu allen, die in Jerusalem auf die Erlösung warteten.

Y ésta, sobreviniendo en la misma hora, juntamente confesaba al Señor, y hablaba de él á todos los que esperaban la redención en Jerusalem.

And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.

Und da sie alles nach dem Gesetze des Herrn vollendet hatten, kehrten sie zurück nach Galiläa in ihre Stadt Nazareth.

Mas como cumplieron todas las cosas según la ley del Señor, se volvieron á Galilea, á su ciudad de Nazaret.

And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

Das Knäblein aber wuchs und ward mächtig am Geist, erfüllt mit Weisheit, und die Gnade Gottes war auf Ihm.

Y el niño crecía, y fortalecíase, y se henchía de sabiduría; y la gracia de Dios era sobre él.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Und es gingen Seine Eltern jedes Jahr gen Jerusalem auf das Paschafest.

E iban sus padres todos los años á Jerusalem en la fiesta de la Pascua.

Und da Er zwölf Jahre wurde, da sie nach der Gewohnheit des Festes hinauf gen Jerusalem gingen,

And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

Dachten aber, Er wäre in der Reisegesellschaft, und kamen eines Tages Weg, und suchten Ihn unter den Verwandten und Bekannten.

Y pensando que estaba en la compañía, anduvieron camino de un día; y le buscaban entre los parientes y entre los conocidos:

But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

Und da sie Ihn nicht fanden, kehrten sie zurück gen Jerusalem und suchten Ihn.

Mas como no le hallasen, volvieron á Jerusalem buscándole.

Und es geschah nach dreien Tagen, daß sie Ihn fanden im Heiligtum, wie Er inmitten der Lehrer saß und ihnen zuhörte und sie fragte.

Y aconteció, que tres días después le hallaron en el templo, sentado en medio de los doctores, oyéndoles y preguntándoles.

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

Es waren aber alle, die Ihn hörten, außer sich über Seinen Verstand und Seine Antworten.

Y todos los que le oían, se pasmaban de su entendimiento y de sus respuestas.

And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

Und da sie Ihn sahen, staunten sie, und Seine Mutter sprach zu Ihm: Kind, warum hast Du uns das getan? Siehe, Dein Vater und ich haben Dich mit Schmerzen gesucht.

Y cuando le vieron, se maravillaron; y díjole su madre: Hijo, ¿por qué nos has hecho así? He aquí, tu padre y yo te hemos buscado con dolor.

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

When they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”

Und Er sprach zu ihnen: Was ist es, daß ihr Mich suchtet? Wußtet ihr nicht, daß Ich sein muß in dem, das Meines Vaters ist?

Entonces él les dice: ¿Qué hay? ¿por qué me buscabais? ¿No sabíais que en los negocios de mi Padre me conviene estar?

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Und sie verstanden nicht die Rede, die Er zu ihnen redete.

Mas ellos no entendieron las palabras que les habló.

And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.

Und Er zog mit ihnen hinab und kam gen Nazareth und war ihnen untertan. Und Seine Mutter behielt alle diese Reden in ihrem Herzen.

Y descendió con ellos, y vino á Nazaret, y estaba sujeto á ellos. Y su madre guardaba todas estas cosas en su corazón.

And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

Jesus aber nahm zu an Weisheit und an Wuchs und Gnade bei Gott und den Menschen.

Y Jesús crecía en sabiduría, y en edad, y en gracia para con Dios y los hombres.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
